After living in Bethesda for 7 years, this was always my go-to salon. They go above and beyond for their customers. From their professionalism and cleanliness to their attention-to-detail, it quickly became apparent that the secret was out because the place was always busy! And even then, Hai, the owner, always made each customer feel welcome with complimentary beverages and his polite nature. They also use individual liners for the pedicure tubs, which is a plus! Let me start this by they do very good work. This review is about how they handle customers. I walk in and it is pretty busy, so I ask if there is a wait they say it won't be very long.....45 minutes later they start on my pedicure. This is my absolute favorite nail place -- they do SUCH a good job. The thing that I love the most above everything else (it is very clean, has good color selection, etc.), is that my manicures and pedicures here last longer than any nail place that I have ever been to. They take particular care in putting on the polish and are very particular to make sure each nail looks great. I hate gel and so always get regular manicures. When I go elsewhere, my polish chips in about 5 days; here my polish lasts 7-9 days. read more

Usually when I go to get a polish change at other salons (because I'm short on time or money) the women rush, do a terrible job, and are rude. Visiting from out of town, I went to Nail Studio today with my sister who lives locally and had an excellent experience with a pedicure! The staff was very friendly and fun, and the service was top notch. I was most impressed with their very sanitary practices, including using a new disposable plastic liner in the foot bath and new gloves for every patron, as well as sanitizing the chair and station before each use. I felt comfortable throughout the whole process, was pleased with the quality of the work, and paid a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend Nail Studio! read more

I came here because the last place I went to didn't do that great a job with my nails. So, I called Hai (whom I've known since middle school) and had the best service. I just had a fantastic gel manicure with Tuyet. My friend is getting married on Saturday and I called to get 3 of us last minute appointments. The salon was very accommodating and worked to fit us in. We were greeted when we came in and all the technicians were super friendly. The salon is also very clean, has a great selection of polish, and a large drying station. It was such a positive experience and if I lived in the area I would be a regular. read more

My experience was phenomenal. This place was recommended by my sister in law. They are honest and let you know what the real wait time is. When I tried a walk in during a busy Christmas week they were sincere and asked me to come back the next day unless I was willing to wait. I appreciated that, since in many places they will say 20 minutes that turn into an hour. I came back the next day for a gel manicure and a pedicure. To say they treat you nicely and provide great customer service is an understatement. They go above and beyond! To the point that I went home to my husband raving that I had not received such great customer service anywhere in this area ever! The quality and attention to their work was amazing. My nails looked great. She had great suggestions. Three weeks later, after a 7 day cruise full of beach and pool days, my nails have not chipped! LOVE THIS PLACE. My friend and I came in for gel manis and a regular pedicure about two weeks ago, I waited to review until I could see how my nails held up. Two weeks later and they look like I just walked out of the spa. Hai did both my manicure and pedicure and he was outstanding. I would have paid extra to have more foot massage, it was that good! Extremely satisifed buth with the services provided and the customer service/attitude of everyone working in the shop. I've lived in Bethesda for 15 years, and this place is the real deal. I used to just flit around between nail salons, but after Nail Studio accommodated my walk in mani-pedi tonight AND got me out in time before my parking meter expired without any lapse in quality of my nail care, I'm 200% sold. Hai, the owner, is the sweetest (and bubbliest!) nail artist I have ever met. He constantly asked whether I needed anything or if everything was okay with my services. Today, I came to nail studio in an attempt to salvage almost a year of mistreatment and terrible acrylic jobs. Tuyet did a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax and did a terrific job. She took the time necessary to appropriately soak off my terrible acrylic and give me a real manicure. My pedicure was amazing. Had a great mani/pedi here recently. Reasonably priced for location & quality. Hai, who I think is the manager or owner, was super friendly and accommodating. I also have to point out they're among the cleanest nail salons in the area--for pedicures especially. They use plastic liners in the foot pools, disposed of after each use, but also scrub the pools in between customers. I was impressed by this since a few other local salons are definitely less diligent about this kind of thing. I'll definitely be back here. But I'll make an appointment for sure. I made appointments for two pedicures at 1:00 on Dec. 26. We sat in the pedicure chairs at about 1:15. Mine started at 1:20 but my friend had to wait until 1:40. What is the point of taking appointments if they are not honored? The ladies there were not at all apologetic, either. Our pedicures are fine, but the experience was lousy. They were out of bottled water also "because it's a holiday." Another group of people left without getting manicures because their appointments weren't honored either. It's clear that the owner was not at work today. I'm going to have to find a new salon. read more

Had some errands to run in Bethesda and hadn't gotten my gel fill ins done in over forever, as it was they were cracked and one I even peeled off because of how painful the crack got. I walked into two salons beforehand (one I even made an appt for who apparently misunderstood me over the phone) that didn't do gel sets/fill ins. Three must be my lucky number because I walked into Nail Studio and I got a seat with Hai immediately! The salon does acrylic, gel, shellac, and even solar at great prices. The salon is spacious and cute inside, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating, offering water or drinks once you sit down. Hai is incredible, he took his time mending the cracks and replacing the missing tip of my gel set. His work is precise and careful, and he is always mindful of your wants or needs. I wasn't even thinking of doing anything other than a color change but Hai thought of an amazing design with the two colors that I picked and I just couldn't resist. With fourteen years of experience, he definitely has a fine eye for nail design and I'm in love with my nails. He even put a clear gel coat on top to seal the color, have zero dry time, and keep them looking shiny for longer! I love trendy nails, so he told me next time I could just show him a picture from wherever (pinterest, instagram, tumblr, etc) and he'd replicate them for me. I'm sold. I'm sure the rest of the staff are just at great, cause other clients look just as pleased as I was receiving their services. Definitely worth the trip for the great service at such a good deal in a happening location. read more

Great experience! Even my husband who is pretty OCD likes it. They line their pedicure tubs with plastic, which is replaced after each customers use. Friendly, relaxing and professional. I'm a cheapskate when it comes to nail salons but even though this one is a bit pricier than some in the inner city, it's worth it. BTW, they open at 9:30, not 9:00. read more

Not happy !! I had read so many good reviews and heard how fun this place was. I thought I was lucky when I got the owner to work on me...Uggg BIG MISTAKE ! She did not do a good job and kept teling everyone how her hand had been injured. She should never have worked on me if she couldn't do a good job. I did give it one star,because they did offer me wne. The clippers were not clean, so I hope I don't get an infection.If the health department goes in there, they might be in trouble. Very clean and sanitary. I went through a lot of ups and downs during my gel manicure and pedicure. This place was extremely well reviewed so I had high hopes. Upon starting my pedicure, I was left for 5 minutes while my manicurist did somebody's wax. Then, I mentioned I was in a rush. She was very apologetic and said she wouldn't have left if she had know. Later on, while getting my manicure, I kept looking at my watch because my parking meter was about to run out. The owner, who was doing my nails at the time, grabbed some quarters and asked where my car was parked. He ran out and put more money in my meter! Talk about customer service. i have been going to this salon for a few months now. as a recent transplant from Dallas, i was dreading finding a new nail place i could trust... not that i'm a diva but the worst part about moving is leaving all your "comfort" places behind and having to find everything anew: dentist, doctor, hair stylist, nail place... you get my gist! so after trying several places in Rockville, Bethesda and DC, i am happy to report i have settled on Nail Studio as my goto place for nails and other services (waxing.) everyone is super friendly and accommodating, the place is clean and well taken care of, and getting appointment times is easy ahead of time or as a walk in. i try not to make a habit of walking in on the weekends because they'll be busy. they are very casual, there is plenty of parking spaces off the street or at nearby garages, and most importantly their quality of work and services provided is top notch and consistent. i'm definitely a fan! read more

I have gone to this nail salon before and had a great experience. My last trip...not good. I arrived around 10:15 and was pleasantly greeted by the owner. He said someone would be with me shortly. A mother and her daughter came in after I did. We were all getting pedis/manis.The mother and daughter were taken first and I waited another 10 minutes before someone started on me. (?) I requested a French mani (gel)/pedi since I was going on vacation. Time lapsed and other people were finished and she was still working on my pedicure. I had to ask if I would be finished by 11:45 and she said no. I asked why it was taking so long and she said she thought I was relaxing. (?) I began to worry that I would miss my flight. Needless to say I had to just pick a color so she could finish and I almost didn't get the gel. She rushed through the manicure and I didn't realize how badly my cuticles were clipped until I went to wash my hands and they were burning. Not the experience I wanted before my vacation. read more

I came here last week for a gel manicure and I was extremely impressed! Hai did my nails for me, and he was great! Friendly, personable, polite, and beyond all of that, he did a fantastic job on my nails and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. (I had been going back and forth about colors, so he painted a layer of my final selection on his own nail and stuck it under the UV lamp for a few seconds, just so I could see how it looked to make sure I'd be happy about my choice) I was offered water/soda when I arrived and was pampered till I left. You know how at some nail salons you can kind of tell that the employees are looking at you like you're just a "job" rather than a customer/person? That's so not the impression I got from this family owned place. I was told that my manicure should last for 2 weeks, and if it chipped or was damaged at all any sooner than 2 weeks, that I could come back to have it fixed up free of charge. I FINALLY found a new salon to call home! I have had the same manicurist for 17 years and due to some conflicts with the management where she worked (see my review of Passion Nail in Clarkburg) I could no longer use her as my manicurist. It was hard leaving the nest but after extensive research and reading every review there was I decided to give Nail Studio a shot. My boss had gone there and gave rave reviews so I figuered why not. Best. Decision. Ever. Not only is this place clean, its the people that work here that make it well worth the experience and price that you pay. I called around noon and they were able to take me at 12:30. Since its just 3 blocks from my office I figured this would be a good way to get out and get pampered during lunch. Nancy was my technician and she was AMAZING. All the women there were REALLY REALLY REALLY nice. I have never had someone take such good care of my toes! I have never seen them so pretty and clean! She was able to get rid of my ingrown nails with NO pain. And she's a perfectionist! I think that's why I liked her so much. She also did some beautiful cherry blossom nail art on my big toes. She even remember that I had quickly mentioned that I was going on vacation and started to chat with me about it. What really impressed me was that she said "if you're happy then I'M happy". I mean, how often do you hear someone say that, especially in that industry? They are very into keeping customers and making them happy. - Even providing bottled water, coffee and tea!
