I would give this place a 3.5. I have to give 1.5 off for the fact that I seen some unsanitary practices. This is my all time favorite place to go get my nails done! I've had acrilyics since high school and no one has done a better job on them then KEVIN! He knows exactly how I like my nails.. takes his time to make sure there are perfect.. and anyways leaves me with beautiful long lasting acrylics! I like strip mall nails salons....I don't like this one. Normally, through hand gestures and even a language barrier, I am always given eager, attentive and compassionate service. Going to expensive salons always leaves one with general indifference from staff, their narcissim and attitude, and worst of all a bad manicure and you just spent $60 (plus a tip you shouldn't give). I expected to get what I know to be great customer service, attention to detail (we're talking seriously well trimmed cuticles) a great massage with immaculate polish. After $25 dollars with a $15 dollar tip for the mani AND pedi,(THEY deserve it). Normally I walk with a great set of nails for $40. NOT HERE.Sloppy service for a shocking $48. Had my nails done on Saturday for a special event and it looked like a five year old did them and I told them if they can redo them but they refused to do my nails again and they wanted to charge me again for the redo and its the worst service ever and place and I would never go back even if the paid me!!! read more

I wrote a review awhile ago and only gave one star. I was basically using this place as a scapegoat because I had just moved her from Venice beach, and you can get a mani plus pedi all over LA for about $30. Have been back several times and they've done a great job and everyone is very nice. The basic for $25 includes hot towels wrapped around calves, nice massage and lotion. My only complaint is that they try to sell you on a callous remover for a higher price. I did this the first time, and saw no difference at all, so make sure to just do the basic, which also does include a pumice foot scrub. read more

I moved back to Ventura (Casitas Springs) almost 2 years ago. I found this place just by chance as I figured it would be too far to drive to Oxnard to get my fills/pedi done. What a great surprise!! I can now just drive or ride my bike into town to get it done!! Kevin and Cindy are the BEST!! The salon is clean and most of all everyone is very nice and friendly!! I highly recommend Nail Studio!! I am soooo disappointed. I went in there with acrylics wanting to get them off and just to get a gel manicure. WORST EXPERIENCE!! 1 old lady with glasses was helping me and then a few minutes later she asked someone how to take off nails, her co-worker told her and she left me soaking my nails on acetone for about 1 hour!!! She then left and started helping someone else! Another lady came and started doing my nails, she did a decent job but she CUT one of my nail on my cuticles really bad. I'm sure she got embarrassed so she told her other co-worker to help me. I'm sure she got embarrassed but not once did she ever tell me she was sorry for doing that! Okay now I'm on the 3rd lady helping me she was doing a better job but she also didn't know what to do exactly! I still had acrylic patches on my nails and it was bothering, I was trying to take it off myself and the lady tells me " you see you're ruining your nails don't do that " as if THEY ALL hadn't already messed up my nails super bad. I got extremely irritated and told her to just leave my nails like that, to not do anything. Walked in around noon on a Sunday and was greeted and helped right away! Studio was clean and modern. Kevin was great. He didn't say a word as he worked, which is fine with me because he seemed pretty focused- which I prefer over conversation. He made them exactly how I asked; they were the perfect thickness (I hate super chunky acrylics!) and fixed any tiny flaw before sending me on my way. Zero massage on mani pedi spa. Constant sales pitch to remove non existent callouses so wouldn't even use pumis stone on me. Constantly pushed using gel polish even though I made it clear I HATE gel. Then wanted me out before polish was dry even though their salon was empty. Then when I stayed for nails to dry they stopped speaking in English in order to begin talking nasty about me. Place really sucks so when I want in a lady started to help me out and do my nails did not really ask at first what I wanted and then ones I did tell her it was not what I had wanted and then the gel nail polish chipping like twice the first time I went back but then the second time I was just over it and I had paid $50 for them just to chip the next day. A gel nail on acrylic plus a basic pedicure with gel was $100. Never have I ever had to pay that. The coffin nail shape wasn't that greatly done either. I even mentioned to the tech that I never pay that amount at nail places I've gone to, only came here because I was on a time crunch. Worse mani & pedi ever. I went into to get mani & pedi. Cindy did my nails and cut my cuticles so bad on both hands they would not stop bleeding. Worse part abt it was that instead of cleaning the blood or stopping the service she tried to paint over the blood stained n residue nails and continue to double dip into the polish. I told her it was unsanitary and she disagreed. The pedi girl basically just washed my feet and polished my toes not a real pedi. She didn't even try she just seemed uninterested. From my observations, These nail techs are inexperienced and definitely needs lesson on being sanitary. I doubt if they are even licensed professional or they would know about being clean and sanitary. I have been to this salon at least half a dozen times over the past year. I'm not sure what has happened but the quality of service has gone down considerably. I went in last Sunday, 11/2/13. There were three women in the salon; one was having a spa pedi done, the other was waiting for her nails to dry and the other woman was with a nail technician as they finished her mani. I received quick service. Two women served me. They started by asking what service I wanted. I informed them that I wanted both a gel manicure and gel pedicure. They seemed shocked by the fact that I wanted both... so I clarified twice. They almost tried to discourage me, telling me it would be much more expensive. I said that I knew the price would be almost $80 and I was fine with that. They rushed through my manicure and pedicure and when it came time for the gel polish they brought me over to a manicure station and instead of doing my toes and nails separately, they did them at the same time so that my body was totally contorted for at least half an hour (not comfortable or relaxing at all!). I think in the hour that I was there one other customer came in. The technician that did my toes did a great job, even though she was rushing. My nails, however, were a completely different story. The woman did not paint my nails evenly so when the gel dried it was all over the place. Now that my nails have grown out slightly over the past week they look ragged - not the way they should look after just a week of having a gel manicure. She also kept pressuring me to get a paraffin wax dip because my cuticles "weren't pretty". I was under the impression that with a manicure it was their job to clean my hands up and make them look pretty... I paid and tipped them both but probably won't be back. It wasn't a relaxing experience and they certainly didn't make me feel welcome. It's not like they were slammed with customers so they could've taken more time to do my nails properly. $72 for a mani/pedi is not pocket change so I expect a little more than a rush job. There is a man who works there and he looks as if he is in his mid-40's. He has done my nails in the past (but I don't know his name, his station is I the back). He does a fantastic job so if you go I'd make sure that he does your nails. read more

I tried this place since its close to by job, prices are way overprice for what they do, I got the deluxe pedi but it was not worth the $34 I get a better job less than that at other places. She didn't scrub by feet at all also I was going to get a mani but didn't end up doing it as I had to get back to work the woman had charged me for it and refused to refund me back as she wanted me to come for it, which I tried since I had paid for it but she was no to busy come back in a hour! had to dispute the charges with my bank as she refused to give me my $ back. not worth never will I go back and do not recommend anyone to come here. read more

Just make sure you ask for Justin when it comes to your acrylic nails. He is wonderful and sweet. He is great with my nails as well. I would have given Nail Studio 5 stars, but their selection of gel nail polish is a bit low and there doesn't seem to be cool nail art happening there. Worst experience in a nail salon!!! I went to get my full set taken off & the lady who helped me (at the very back) wasn't being gentle/careful enough & cut my skin twice. Before i knew she cut my skin i let her know it hurt & she was just like ok & kept being rough & it wasn't till I started bleeding that she started being careful how she should've been in the first place. I was not happy at all. & she seemed rude from the beginning. I took my sister with me & she just stared at us when we sat down. I just moved to the area and wanted to find a nail salon close to home. I saw this place on yelp and was hesitant to go because of the poor reviews. I am so glad I checked it out for myself. The prices are great, the staff is friendly, the foot massage was amazing and I love how my toes turned out. It's nothing fancy, but they had nice massage chairs, great new polish colors and is overall a clean, comfortable place. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Can't I leave less than one star? OMG I am freaking out that I'm going to get a nail fungus from this place. I went in for a quick manicure and was having a phone conversation with my daughter while the woman was working on my hands. After she had filed every single finger I look at what she was doing and saw that the file she was using had finger nail polish and dirt on it and was not a new file! This is against the law and I stood up and said why aren't you using a new file? Her reply was oh, I can use a new file if you want. I have been coming to this nails salon for 3 years and I love the way they do my nails. I'm so happy that they newly renovate the shop and add more color selections and more nails designs.
