Naja's was one of the more popular places to meet up for happy hour for years due to the great atmosphere, ease of parking, good food and 80 beers on tap. 80! I like beer, so I'll start there. Tons of selection, styles, nationalities and flavors that change frequently enough to keep things interesting, but not so often that you get frustrated because you never know what to get. The prices are easily understood due to their color-coding system and always reasonably priced. The food is good for what it is. Expect pub grub, not cuisine. They cook it right in front of you at the bar and it arrives quickly. The bar's open side looks right out into the marina and is a great spot to relax with a brew and watch the sun go down after a long work week. There are typically a wide variety of people there, so I never felt out of place and the vibe is very laid back. I've since moved out of the area and I miss it so much! read more

Had a great time this last Sunday at Naja's. It was very hot, but we cooled down with cold beer on tap. They have a very extensive selection of different kind of beers. Also we were lucky to enjoy a really good cover band that played all day. All the staff are friendly, And if you're not sure about a beer, they will let you sample it. Didn't try the food, next time. I like coming here on St. Patrick's Day because of the live bands. Although, it does a get a little loud and there is no where to escape the noise. After I went to the summer festival in Torrance earlier today, I wanted to enjoy the rest of Sunday with some beers by the ocean, so I suggested my friends that we should try Naja's. We found the place after walking on the pier for a few minutes. The right side where a live band was about to start playing music was getting crowded, but the left side was not so busy and we grabbed chairs. Wow...the beer taps... I felt like I was at a candy store. :) I know we should've just gotten beers, but decided to get some onion rings. Well...we ate most of them, but boy, very greasy. Parking - parking structure right next to bar but not that many spots. If you go on a good day you should be able to find parking quick. Sundays is usually packed so be ready. Gotta love a local dive, especially when the front windows are open, the sun streams in, and you can look out the the boats docked just a few yards away (not all that picturesque, but it does give off an authentic sense of grit). It's off the beaten path, but it still feels pretty beat. There are a lot of old Naja's stories, especially from back when the original owner created a beerapalooza decades before gastropubs became hip. Thankfully, that hasn't changed--there are at least 70 excellent craft beers on tap, and many more in the bottle. Never had the food, because no matter how buzzed I am, it looks pretty heinous. Still, I can stop in after a ride on the bike path, get a great beer, and listen to a bar band chewing up the classics on the weekend, all in the most unpretentious atmosphere imaginable. read more

They have at least three Russian River Brewing brews (PTE!!!) on deck, and they're the best offerings. Other drafts are highly rated as well. I just visited Naja's for the first time last night. I had been looking for a great beer place somewhere between Santa Monica's Library Ale House and Long Beach's Yardhouse for a while and I believe I have finally found one. For those of you not familiar with the Redondo Beach Pier, it's an awesome place with a variety of restaurants and bars. Naja's is located on the lower pier (not the main pier) across from the Fun Zone and all the way down as far as you can go away from the parking structure. If I had known this I wouldn't have had an extra 15 minute walk to pay for. The bar is completely open to the docks along the lower pier, so if it's a cold day/night then you'll want to have a jacket. There is an outside seating area and a bunch of small tables inside. There is a digital jukebox for people to purchase songs and a number of TVs tuned to sports of various types. But right as you enter on the left is the bar where you order. Across the back are a single row of taps, but overhead is a huge list of other beers on tap (and the taps are actually mounted on the ceiling too). Beers on the list are color coded to indicate price per pint and pitcher. The prices are between $5 and $8 for a pint, I believe. Pitchers were $14 at the cheapest (and they have good beers for that price, too). In addition, they have a huge menu of bottled beers (that is not consistent with the website). Lots of Belgians, Imperial Stouts, German beers, etc. A great selection. The prices on the bottles range between $4 and $20 for a 750ml. I got a La Fin Du Monde and Victory King Stout each for $6. Sweet deal IMO. There is also a small menu for bar food items. They have a burger, some kabob stuff, tater tots, fries, mozzarella sticks, and other fried items. Not much else. We came on a Monday and there were chicken or beef tacos for $1.50 each. I got 4 of the beef ones (carne asada) and they were surprisingly good quality and taste for the price (though a little dry. Next time I'll get extra salsa). When you order they give you a number for your food so it is delivered to you. The service is not super rapid, but it isn't terrible either. The staff are friendly and helpful, though I'd advise not asking too much about "what do you think of this beer" since there are so many and they likely haven't tried all of the beers. Summary: Huge beer selection with lots of great options for very affordable prices. Chill vibe but often a little loud because of the jukebox. Can get cold if ocean breeze is strong. Have to pay for parking but it's not unreasonable. A great place to grab a cheap, good beer with some cheap but good bar food and hang out. read more

Naja's Place - Geuze Fond Tradition (yummy sour beer) - Burgers Near Me - Redondo Beach, California

The first place where I've been able to try some normally hard to find stuff like Pliny, Blind Pig, 120 Minute, etc which you can usually find at their yearly IPA festival in May or check their facebook for any incoming barrels throughout the year. You'll find 80+ selections on their dry-erase board with a few numbers erased usually. There will probably many selections on the board which you are completely unfamiliar with, but don't worry it happens to everyone. If it's not too busy (avoid the hours of 4-8) then you can ask for advice and possibly a taste of some selections. If you don't otherwise know what you want during a loud and busy time frame then try not to panic with all the people behind you waiting and possibly the impatient bar tender who's just trying to keep the line moving. I've been here on a more peaceful day and it was nice, quiet while the bar tenders were conversational. On the other hand it's just absolutely chaotic during rush hour and the weekends where you'll find yourself screaming at the person right in front of you and bumping into strangers sitting shoulder to shoulder. I come here for the beer though. So even if I have to stand in a full room to drink something I'll only find once or twice on tap this year I'll be making my way here. read more

First time at this bar and last. The service was horrible. Not only did the woman at the register yell at us she told us to get out & she didn't need our service. Sad how some business owners are not humble. She came across as very arrogant and completely rude. I can tolerate main things but a person trying to make you feel less of a person is just intolerable. The beer may be good but the service was horrific. She straight out said "you can leave I don't Need your service." Snatch cards off hand, kept venting to her coworkers and talking about us. We could tell cause the other bartender would turn to look at our table. When I get asked politely I will return it, but if you ask and then you are arrogant and rude. For something so simple she turned into something more than what it needed to be all because of her choice of words. Regardless of the title and who you may be within that business, you should learn how to properly treat people. There is better bars out there with better service and people who enjoy what they do. Not to good of an experience customer service was awful i was standing there waiting to get my order taken the the guy was yapping for a while with a customer he knew for a good 10 minutes . The other guy didnt really ask us until we literally got almost in front of his face to get a drink. I felt like because I was not American they did not care to help me because i am a latino. I would give this place five 5-stars... but not today! been here many times and today there was a new female bartender and she had a bad attitude every time I been here it's always been male bartenders and they have always been very nice and polite but this lady was very mean she had a bad attitude there was a couple in front of me asking what kind of laggers did they have? I went here for drinks on a Sunday afternoon a while back and heard some great live music. The cover band (who I think are regulars) had good energy and the dance floor saw some traffic. I would definitely go back for a leisurely afternoon. Only downside (well, depending on the person) is that there is barely any cell reception and very slow (basically nonexistent) wifi connection, so you may have to be comfortable being off the grid while you're enjoying your drinks. Good prices and good crowd, though, so would definitely return. read more

So myself and two of my buddies are cruising down the beach strands and stop of here for a pitcher of beer... Place looks pretty cool to chill for a bit.. So we order a pitcher and have the rudest bartender I've ever had.. Now let me say this first off... I hate when I enter an establishment and decide to spend my HARD EARNED money in a joint... to get bad service with an attitude... So that being said... We order our pitcher from the bartender I hand over my ID he flicks it a couple of times... then he flicks it harder almost intentionally to snap it in half... So as I pay the "man" he takes my debit card and charges it goes through quickly but on returning my card to me he thinks the damn thing is a Frisbee and flicks it towards me... I felt unwanted in the establishment... so we drank our beers and left... never to return...ever... There are plenty of great bars in Redondo Beach... This however isn't one of them... So what if they have a zillion beers on tap? Bad service = Bad Time Could have been a cool guy instead of a fool. read more

(this should have been my first clue that there was something worthy about this place) There's my friend who loves beer (even brews his own) and then there's yelper Robert H. who usually starts/ends his infamous bike pub crawls at Naja's. I get why they're drawn to this place now.... the selection of beers and the kickback atmosphere!!! At first I never really wanted to hang out at Naja's because the first time I walked by this place it smelled fishy since it's in the Redondo Harbor near the fish markets. It doesn't scream out established establishment... I mean, it's more of a beer stand than a bar with only 3 walls and a few bar stools. On weekends it's over run by tourists and not the good kind. Although I wouldn't classify myself a beer connoisseur nor a beer loving - beer guzzling Keg stand performing beer bonger or ponger.. I like trying new beers and who are we kidding I love me some FLIP CUP and I heart dive bars so Naja's minus the seedy and ghetto tourists would probably be my kinda place (minus the fish stank) Well ladies this is where you REALLY need to pay attention. A few months ago while my girlfriend and I were taking an evening stroll around the Redondo Pier around 9pm on a quiet weeknight we discovered two things: 1-No Tourists 2-Naja's wasn't crowded in fact there were only a handful of patrons, all male and all HOT! We chalked it up to a fluke.... then one Sunday evening I was walking to Kincaid's to meet some friends for dinner and while walking by Naja's, I glanced over to check out the scene and there it was again... 1-No Tourists 2-Not crowded, just a handful of patrons, all male and ALL HOT! Granted they weren't the same Hot Guys as I spotted the first time but all the same...HOT GUYS... and a mixed lot at that...you got the young boys in the hoodies and chucks and the more mature ones still in their office clothes.... both times the place was void of women and I'm willing to bet these "hot guys" are locals! Great beer selection and tasty bar food but ruined by staff on a power trip. We came here for some drinks on a Friday night and enjoyed the talented reggae band that were playing. Our group of around 8 people were the only people on the dance floor having fun and enjoying the music. We were told to take our drinks off of the dance floor and while we weren't too happy about this, especially being the only people on it, we respected the bar's rules and wishes. Some time later one of the bouncers came over and told us we were getting kicked out. Feeling that this was unreasonable we requested to speak to the manager and were denied. Since we didn't move out straight away in the hope that we could reach an amicable resolution the bouncer decided to take to the band's mic and announce to everyone in the bar we had to leave, humiliating us and making the situation awkward for everyone in the bar. I would not recommend this place if you're looking to go to a bar to have fun and feel sorry for the band that they lost the only people dancing to them that night. read more

Very, Very Cool. I was certainly impressed......Score 1 for BF for bringing me to Naja's. There were 90+ beers on tap....some I'd wanted to try for a while. The hardest thing is trying to decide what to order. Beers are written on the white board in different colors according to size and price. Great idea! BF and I had a Chimey Tripel, Bootlegger's Knuckle Sandwich, Ballast Point Dorado Double IPA and one other BF ordered that I can't remember. All were very good. I literally could spend all day here trying beer after beer. BF loved that there were 12-15 flat screen TV's playing different football games. There was a jukebox playing so cool tunes and a pool table to boot. Very ruggedly decorated with raw wood, aluminum, etc but I loved the HUGE multitude of beer taps hanging from the ceiling...I think I spent a good 10-15 minutes checking them out. We decided to order a bit of food to hold us over until dinner. We devoured the large Kabob Plate and at $15 was a steal! More than enough for 2 people if you are mildly hungry, PERFECT for two if you are hungry to starving! A huge serving of flavorful meat with mushrooms and onions, served alongside hummus, sour cream, salsa, lettuce and what must have been ground up jalapenos....Holy Crap it was hot! Once we figured out the right ration of jalapeno stuff to sour cream and lettuce, all was right with the world. This came with a heaping basket of warm, fresh pita and was downright perfect. The meat could have been a little more tender for BF and while I somewhat agree, I really had no complaints. Naja's would be perfect on a warm spring day...perfect to hang and drink and just chill. BF and I were there in the wind, cold and rain. The place is somewhat "open" so if you are going to visit at night or when it is cool, make sure to bring a jacket because it can get downright cold. If you've never been to the Naja side of RB Pier you're missing out! I remember first moving to California and heading over there for a touristy bonanza. After getting my name etched on a grain of sand and choosing my oyster out of a bin to get my perfect pearl I stumbled past the obese inadequately covered fishermen to the beer mecca aka Naja's. Okay first off, the fact that every reviewer knows that there are 77 beers on tap tells you something! This place is for beer drinkers... you know, Beer Drinkers. There are so many great choices to imbibe, and unlike some of the other beer meccas like Yard House, I think these beers actually see some action instead of sitting in the pipes for years on end. OMG! What hit me? Did anyone catch the license plate on that semi truck that ran me over? All I know is that the side of the trailer said Russian River Pliny the Elder on it and better known as "Give me a #26!" At $8 a pop it could get pricey if you walk in sober. And as this night turned out it could also get dicey if you stay too long. Naja's is pretty cool. They have live music and a laid back crowd. Every now and then a few D-bags will walk in and look for some talent. Naja's is located at the bottom of the Redondo Boardwalk. Tucked in the corner and hidden from plain sight this gem always seems to shine. The bartenders are alright and the food is ok. But if you go to Najas for the food, you got some issues. You go for the mofo-ing beer. I go for the mofo-ing Pliny. We got in just before 5pm on a saturday and the place was already packed. The wife elbowed and fought for a cluster of tables. There is a mystical quality about places you revere, everyone is drawn to "favorite" places for one reason or another, in the case of Naja's place there are many. Great selection of beer, one room specifically designed for drinking beer at the bar and another room for enjoying whatever cover band is playing that day. I wish every beer bar had this set up. Sitting in the "tap Galley" is an experience every beer snob should soak up. great beers on tap views of Redondo Harbor and .....hilarious people watching. I mean entertainment at it's finest. Redondo Beach Pier is a middle class and lower class haven because of the reasonably priced Quality fish market. On any given day you can sip amazing beers and gaze out the open windows at tatted up gang bangers, bemused tourist , or content locals. perhaps you will see someone named Smokey, straight out of county, walking with his 200 pound wife while yelling at his kid for almost falling into the bay. This is one of those locations where every single walk of life can be seen in all its horribly dressed glory. You'd think people could rest the Ed Hardy of Affliction shit already. You will see "Pants on The Ground" and muffin tops galore, enjoy with wonderfully crafted beer. read more

I've now been here a few times and each time is something different and good. You go here for the beer and during the week, you stay for the amazing rock'n roll cover band. I've never had so much fun on a small dance floor at a bar before. That band killed and I got so many high-fives on the dance floor. Everyone was having an amazing time. The beer selection is great with dozens of beers on draught and many more in bottles. But seriously, don't get a bottle. STRAND Brewery is on tap here (a rising local brew) and is great. So great in fact, that it is one of the kegs that usually runs out. They just can't supply the stuff fast enough. On Superbowl Sunday, I experienced the food. Their meat plate is tasty and the wings were fine too. However, I don't usually eat very greasy food and was feeling it for a day later. But that's not to say there was anything "wrong" with the food, but it's not light. You order at the front, and someone brings food to your number. You know the routine. If you're there early enough and leave before, I'm not sure, 11pm, you can walk down the boardwalk and grab some churros or ice cream. There is one spot that has three churros for $5. read more
