Not very familiar with this type of Vietnamese cuisine, so some of what I say might be out of pure ignorance. The bbq pork was tender but that's about it. I do visit some of my regular spots where the bbq pork has a reddish coloring to it, yeah...not sure if that's the marinade, food coloring...i don't know...i really don't care because it's delicious!!! But the meat in my sandwich was purple! Not going to lie, it freaked me out a bit. You eat with your eyes first folks.... I could've just eaten a raw vegetable banh mi. The vegetables were tossed in some kind of dressing or vinegarette that would make any picky eater a question, "how can this be?!" The bread was crusty, but soft and fresh. I tried it several years ago with some of my good friends and I couldn't get enough, the only thing I'm mad about is that they don't have a location closer to me. There is so much good food at the Dallas Farmer's Market that it's always a struggle to decide where to eat. They truly have a little bit of everything. However, I find myself more often than not coming right back to Nammi. Personally, I always have to have the spring rolls to start. These aren't the deep fried spring rolls most are used to. These are fresh and delicious, served with an amazing peanut sauce. For my entrée, I am back and forth between the Lemongrass Beef Noodle Bowl and the Asian BBQ Pork Asian Tacos. Both are incredible. There tends to be a bit of a line simply due to the popularity of this place, but food is usually pretty quick and the service is always good. If you want great flavor, Nammi is it! read more

Flavors were nice at Nammi The overall concept is great but seems to be representing an American Vietnamese concept. Flavors were good but authenticity was not there. I enjoyed my time but a couple of things turned me off that I won't mention here. Still great idea and good flavors but they make mistakes. I wouldn't suggest eating here if you want real Vietnamese food. That said, definitely a good quick bite when out at the Farmers market. The drinks were out right away and the banh mi after about 5 minutes. The chicken was seasoned and cooked deliciously, and the baguette fresh and crunchy. This is not my absolute favorite Banh Mi; but it's a tasty one. Credit goes to the terrific pickled daikon and carrot that they heap on the sandwich along with two delicious dressings. Yes, this is the popular food truck with a permanent home here in the Market - the indoor restaurant-centric Shed at the Dallas Farmers Market in Downtown Dallas. This place is pretty much elbow to elbow this Saturday with the Boho market showing their wares alongside the Farmer's Market usual vendors. The line wasn't long and the prices were modest compared to other occupants of the Shed. Their process is straightforward. Pick your meat. Choose how you wish to convey that meat to your mouth and order. Tacos, sandwich, noodle bowl, rice bowl? I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi sandwich and it comes on a rather lengthy, crispy but tender inside baguette. You place your order at their counter and they call out your name at another for pickup. I ordered Vietnamese Iced Coffee, too; but seemed to be having a problem poking a hole in the cover with this very fat straw. After some minor flooding, I asked for assistance and finally struck coffee which was delicious. Just delicious. Price $3.75 Unfortunately, my chicken only covered half of my baguette, so I had to rearrange my chicken for better coverage. Boy was it yummy with its tiny bit of pâté and the wasabi aioli and spicy Sriracha mayo that come on the side. But honestly, I would have liked a little more chicken. I haven't been down to the dallas farmer's market in forever. Decided to make a special trip for the Boho market and was surprised to find a nammi location here. I've had food from their food truck before - their banh mi sandwiches - but never tried their rice/noodle bowls because they aren't as easy to eat when you're walking about. However at this location there's lots of seating available. So I decided to try their noodle bowl. I ordered the lemongrass chicken noodle bowl. ($9) The vermicelli rice noodle isn't the typical noodle I'm used to (like in pho) but they're thicker, rounder, very QQ. Pickled veggies have a nice crunch. Lemongrass chicken had a very good flavor. The bowl was very light and fresh. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee. ($3.75) very very strong. Sweet, but not overly so. They forgot it on my order originally and I had to go back and ask for it. They use an Ipad/card reader combo and don't give out receipts so they had to go back and check. All in all.... very good food. But definitely pricier than a local Vietnamese restaurant. The price is the main reason i give this place a 3 star rating. Not something I'd eat on a regular Basis, but it's a nice change from all the American/Italian/Mexican options in the market read more

Myself and 2 friends went to the Dallas Farmers Market for the Friday night block party. Unfortunately the line for the 2 other places we wanted to visit were SUPER long so we opted to Nammi because there was no line. I think the reason there is no line was because the food was just OK. I went with the chicken tacos, which to my surprise were filled so much that i couldnt eat them as a taco. That's normally a good thing but they were also super soggy so i basically just ate the filling. I didn't realize it was dark meat, which is not my favorite. But the tacos were ok. My one friend ordered the shrimp chips and something else. He said the chips were a pass. My third friend had all kinds of ordering issues. Apparently they didn't have what he originally wanted then he ordered something else and the order was incorrect. With lots of options at the Farmers Market, I think I will try other places before I try Nammi again. read more

Really though, I've probably been deprived of more authentic vietnamese food in Knoxville, but it really was *nummy* Baguette was grilled/toasted while still being soft inside. A suitable helping of bbq pork, with pickled veggies, jalepenos, pate, and some garlic mayo topped off with fresh cilantro and my taste buds were dancing! I also got a green tea with mango popping boba, which was not sickly sweet, but very refreshing! All of the ingredients tasted fresh, and prepared well too! Yes, it's true: you don't have to go to the suburbs of Garland, Richardson, Carrollton or Arlington for excellent Vietnamese food! It's at Shed 2 of the Dallas Farmers market!! We have been to Nammi several times, and their banh mi sandwiches never disappoint! The bread is on point - fresh baked and crispy outside with a pillowy soft inside. We have tried three kinds of banh mi, and our clear favorite of the three is the grilled pork with the fried egg. That egg is worth the $1 upcharge - trust us! If you have ever had a fried egg on your banh mi, you must try it! You will be converted! Lemongrass beef is also delicious - but only if you like lemongrass A LOT. Lemongrass is a love it or hate it thing - I love it, daughter hates it. I usually leave the fried egg off the lemongrass banh mi, but that's just my preference. I also add some sriracha to mine - again, my taste :) Banh mi sandwiches come dressed with soy sauce, mayonnaise, cucumber, carrots, daikon, fresh jalapeños and cilantro. They usually verify the fresh jalapeños are desired - I always desire! Any of the vegetables or dressings can be omitted - my daughter hates mayo, and it has never been a problem to leave that off. We look forward to trying their spring rolls when they become available later this spring. The lemongrass beef noodle bowls look delicious, and they ARE delicious! If you're not into big chewy bread, get the noodle bowl instead. It has all the meat from the equivalent banh mi, with more veggies and lighter rice noodles. I'm a big Dallas Farmers Market fan, so it's a shame I didn't try this restaurant sooner! Nestled in the corner of the indoor market, this place always seems busy. Let me tell you why. It's affordable, traditional , and fresh. And if that's not enough, they also serve bubble tea. Plus they're efficient. What else do you need? I tried the honey BBQ rice bowl, lemongrass chicken tacos, potstickers and passion fruit bubble tea. The potstickers were fantastic and I really enjoyed the rice bowl for its size and overall flavor. I almost always get the lemongrass chicken. I've liked everything I've tried, but I think the rice bowl might be my favorite. The food is fresh, flavorful, not greasy/heavy, and it's plentiful! My husband and I are very picky when it's come to Pho. Today we found Naomi. The best and most authentic Pho in Dalas. So tasty and very flavorful, just like homemade recipe!
