I've come back to this place many times and they have such yummy items especially dim sum. Would recommend to anyone looking for a casual spot to eat some noms. I've had a lot of dim sum in my life and can say this place's Shanghai siu mai is one of the best I've had. The soy milk was also incredible. I had some to go when I was sick and it really helped improve my spirits. I come here every month now! It's a chill enough place I can go alone or with friends. There's a few tables inside and outside, with tableside chili oil, vinegar, and soy sauce so it's definitely preferable to eat there instead of take out. Everything they serve is given in disposable containers though. You can order at the counter or at a kiosk in the front. Pan fried crabmeat and pork dumpling ($10) - I wish these were crispier on the bottom, for a proper pan-fried bottom. It's juicy on the inside, but doesn't have any soup. Didn't taste the crabmeat on this either since I think the pork overpowered it but the filling was nicely seasoned and tasty. Dough was pretty thick compared to the meat. I ordered the pan fried dumplings which came with 6 for $10 and soy milk $3.50. Really love the soy milk here. It's not too sweet. The service here was fast and food came neatly in a red bag. This location is also very cozy. The pan fried dumplings didn't have the seared bottom like the other location. It was soft. The chili oil and vinegar goes very well with the dumplings though. Walked in during a night out with some friends. The store has very limited seating. The food comes quickly and the menu is limited seeing that it is express eatery. Was happy to see the best Nan Xiang offers on the express menu. We had the classic pork soup dumplings and the spicy beef soup dumplings which I had for the first time here. I thought it's only for the luxury hotel styles.) it's very healthy while we all get thirsty from eating Chinese food. Cashiers are friendly and non judgmental vibes and open late. I think the food here is good for a takeout express spot but I don't think it's as good as other Shanghainese places I've dined in at before. This is my go-to spot in Williamsburg. Everything on the menu is delicious. My favorite is the beef noodle soup. It doesn't taste too oily, the noodles and soft and fresh, and the meat (most days) is tender. It's filling for one persons. Cucumber salad is pretty solid and refreshing! I had the chicken udon yesterday and also yummy and chewy noodles. I personally prefer their noodle dishes more because you get more bang for your buck and they're fresh-tasting. While they are called "Express," they do offer some seating inside and have a cute little outdoor patio in the back which was lovely on a clear night like today. We enjoyed their crab meat and pork soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns (the dough was a little bit thick, but pan fried to perfection), the shrimp/poke/veggie wontons in peanut sauce (their peanut sauce is fantastic!!), and chicken rice cake. The udon noodles were good, but was also lacking the amount of flavor I've gotten from similar restaurants. The fried pork buns were pretty good though. I did really enjoy those and would recommend. Went back a second time within the month, but this time I sat in to eat. My order did not come all at once. Passion Fruit & Lime Green Tea - The straw is plastic and longer. I was able to slurp up the bits at the bottom of the cup. Shanghai Fried Udon Noodles with Pork - Had more Bak Choy this time. Not enough Pork though. Still great amount of Udon. I never finished it. As you can see in my photo. There is just too much oil at the bottom of the container. I understand the item is fried / flash fried, but I do not need the oil in the finished dish. Signature Pork Soup Dumplings - This was served last to me. I'm guessing this needed a longer cooking time. Still great.
