It was a tough decision between ice cream and a milkshake. The shake won this time around but I'm sure I'll be back sometime soon for some ice cream. The are supposedly famous for their strawberry shakes so that's what I tried. According to the gal working the window, they use fresh strawberries which draws the attention of a lot of people. The shake was great but I will admit that the big strawberry chunks sometimes made it difficult to sip from the straw. As you walk up, you'd think that this was just another ice cream shop. But, it's far from it! From the decoration to the ice cream. Everything is well thought over. We ordered the triple scoop in a cup. I wouldn't suggest doing that. We got two full scoops and 1/4 of a scoop. So, definitely get two scoops max. But, the ice cream was incredibly delicious! Everything is made in house. So, you get one of a kind flavors. Which, I loved. Coffee lovers-This ice cream was rich, dense, and decadent! It tasted like an Affogato. My mom savored every last nibble. Amareto Cherry-This ice cream was fun and flavorful. It was excellent! Unfortunately, all you could taste was the maraschino cherries. Which, made for a tasty treat. But, my dad was missing the amareto. Tennessee Toffee- This ice cream was creamy, dreamy, and delicious! I couldn't get enough of it. It was salty, sweet, and savory all in one bite! The toffee was luscious, smooth, and decadent. It was pure heaven. The ice cream was rich and velvety with strong notes of caramel, cocoa nibs, coffee, and most of all Tennessee whisky. We kept seeing Nancy's on the way to the beach and knew we needed to stop by. The ice cream mural on the side of the building is so awesome and eye-catching! You walk up to order from the windows, and we picked up some Chicago dogs, a chocolate shake, and a cup of Unicorn Stars, which was a fun and colorful flavor featuring "sparkly glitter star candies and magical sprinkles," and it came with a fun color changing spoon! The staff was friendly and efficient, and there's a nice seating area just to the side of the building near some of the neighboring shops. Some are even under the overhang, so despite the fact that it had rained on the day of our visit, we had no problem finding dry seating. Cute place with a convenient location! read more

My kids wanted sorbet but I am a sucker for coffee ice cream in a waffle cone, so that's exactly what I planned to order. I double backed to Nancy's, unsure where or what to do... when I originally walked by, there wasn't anyone there, but now the line wrapped around the corner... however, the line did move pretty quickly and the man taking the orders was very chill and easy to take orders. This was our first stop in New Buffalo and we were happy to find a pet friendly spot to grab a quick lunch. Milkshakes were great, food was OK. Kids chicken tender meals were pretty small. I had chili cheese dogs and totally expect the consistency of the chili to stay the same based on how my stomach feels, and my wife had the Italian beef that came out with just beef and no peppers. Price was too high for what we received. I would have expected a side with the Italian beef... We visited here maybe 3-4 times. In our last visit they gave us the rudest treatment I have ever received anywhere in the world. They couldn't get 3 hotdogs out for more than half an hour. When we asked when we would get them the response we got was "the world doesn't revolve around you", "I don't care I'll give you your refund and you can leave". Manager or Owner was extremely rude to us when we asked if there was egg in the ice cream. We have an egg allergy in our family and sometimes the base has egg and other times it does not. The food was decent, however the service was bad. The girl behind the counter was unfriendly and rude. We had a misunderstanding with our order and instead of handling it with class she came across as accusatory as if my eighty year old father intentionally ordered 1 fewer hotdogs. Here are my comments/tips: - I thought a single scoop on a sugar cone was kind of pricy ($3.70 w/tax)-is that the going rate for ice cream these days...?? but they did give a decent amount of ice cream. - No bathrooms for public use here. My family & I went to Nancy's last night and let me just say, I'm disgusted. I don't know what's worse.. the customer service or the ice cream?
