i was on the highway, i googled thai restaurant in the area, i found this spot, and i went. The interior is small but well decorated. It seemed quizzical that a restaurant would serve 3 types of ethnic foods and i found out why 2 days after. I had ordered 2 dishes which are pretty expensive for the area. The chicken curry tasted funny and i called to follow up to find out why it tasted funny. Apparently they DEEP FRY the chicken before they prepare the entire meal. Seriously, who does that at a Thai restaurant? Secondly it was not great because it was filled up with all chicken and probably 5% veggies. In times where we are all looking for healthier meals, it seems that this spot is trying to fool us and cut corners. I've been here twice. The first time I asked for my shrimp entree to NOT be spicy, and my friend asked for her entree to BE spicy. My food came back insanely spicy and hers was bland. So they obviously mixed up our requests. We mentioned it to the waiter, but nothing was done about it. I couldn't even eat it. I didn't feel like complaining further and that was that. The second time I came back one evening with my boyfriend. I ended up getting terribly sick right after I left the restaurant. We had the samosas and chicken zafrani. The samosas are the best I've ever had. Ever. The tamarind chutney is great. The chicken zafrani was perfect for the Indian food craving without too much spice. If you like chicken tikka masala, this dish goes right next to it. It had a nutty flavor, with cream and spices. Truly unique. I ordered the plain paratha. It was crispy, soft... perfect. The garlic naan was also a hit with my husband. The rice was perfectly cooked and fluffy. Been ordering delivery regularly for over a year now, and they've never disappointed. Their biryani is so flavorful and delicious, and they can make it as spicy as you'd like (I usually ask for them to make it as spicy as possible). I've had items from both their Indian menu and their Thai/Chinese menu, and it's all fresh and enjoyable. Definitely check them out! Their lunch special is an amazing deal. We were visiting the New York area for 3 days and we had lunch on all 3 days from here. I definitely recommend this place. They have both North Indian and Indo Chinese. Their Indo Chinese is spot on. Some dishes we had and recommend: Paneer kurchan - haven't seen any Indian place serve this before. We spent our last night in New York next to JFK. Since Jamaica is a rough neighborhood, we decided to find a restaurant that delivered to "Courtyard by Marriott". This was the highest rated restaurant that delivered food we were in the mood for. I was pretty frustrated when I saw their version of chinese food. We ordered the fried rice with chicken (paid for extra chicken) and sweet and sour chicken. The sweet and sour chicken was swamped in fluid. It almost looked like soup. The fried rice looked like mexican rice from rice-a-roni w/ strips of the fat from chicken. None of it tasted like chinese food, it was a spicy thai variant. In case you're wondering, when I ordered I chose "NOT SPICY". I don't know if they forgot, didn't read that part or just don't know how to make it not spicy. Let's just say this place left a lot to be desired. I don't know what else you would get around this "beautiful" neighborhood but I would probably consider just eating M&M's or go without food. It was way too expensive for what it was. Worst Pad Thai ever! All you taste is the weird sauce and no flavor. Virgin Pina Colada was tasteless. We ordered 4 and got 2, and the waitress didn't even confirm the drinks order. We ended up asking for a coke and sprite and returned the sprite twice before they actually gave us a can of sprite instead of club soda. Waitress always makes a face like she could care less about taking ur order let alone work there. We ate at Spice Route near Picono Mountains and the receptionist told us that Nanking in Queens is the same owner. I doubt it after this experience. I was skeptical about tying this place because I normally avoid restaurants that offer more than one type of cuisine (ie Thai/Indian, or Chinese/Japanese). I find that there is often a sacrifice in quality in lieu of variety. After 2+ years of listening to people sing NanKing's praises, I finally broke down and tried it tonight. It's not easy to say this, but I was wrong... very wrong. This place is amazing and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. It was so good I forgot how to form complete sentences and just kept saying "nom nom nom". I'm glad I wasn't in public because I was literally shoveling Panner Makhani in my mouth. My thought was "I need to eat faster so my brain doesn't catch up with my stomach and tell me Im full". This is the best Indian I've ever had, hands down. I got take out, it was ready early, didn't have to wait. Another thing that I thought was unique is the way the food was packaged, I'm not sure if it was the containers or the bag but after 40 mins in the car there was no smell. This restaurant has good ambiance music, nice table set-ups and restaurant appearance, friendly wait staff, and is just off of Rockaway Blvd and I-678. The food was delicious. We had Malai Kabab, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Lamb Rogan Josh. It was all seasoned perfectly and I'd definitely recommend for lunch and dinner and take out. read more

I thought I was going to be more impressed with the chicken tiki marsala; however, it was above-average but not outstanding. To comment on their customer service and ambiance, it would be hard pressed to find a better looking restaurant in this area (South Ozone Park) of Queens. It's beautifully decorated and their service (A-) is almost as good as the decor. I tried the alcoholic pear drink, and while you could smell the alcohol, it was so smooth that had to ask myself if I was drinking water. This is by no means a bad thing. In fact, I've been thinking about that drink almost a whole 24 hours later. Definitely something to feed one's liquid diet :) I would definitely return to Nanking. read more

I decided to try this place because I had to be in Ozone Park and was meeting up with a friend. The area is not pretty but the location is a couple of blocks from the Van Wyck Expressway. The staff is very nice and the place looks cute and cozy. The food is very good. We ordered samosas, these lamb rolls ( I forgot the name in the menu) that were really good, yogurt sauce, garlic nan, whole fried red snapper in garlic sauce, chicken tiki masala and some garlic noodle dish. We were welcomed by a very nice waitress in a cozy empy restaurant. We tried the dumplinks as appeters and had lamb chops with sechuan rice as the main dish. Ordered take out from here and the Kai Chi wings were good but the Singapore Rice Noodle was not. It had a weird flavor and tastes different from all of the other Singapore rice noodle dishes I have had. There was also a $3 delivery fee so with the total cost of the order plus the entree not tasting as it should, I would say it wasn't worth the money. I'm not sure what their other dishes are like but the flavor of this was not good and not the flavor that one would expect for this dish. Update about 3 weeks later: After my initial review Kailash reached out to me immediately and offered a credit for the dish I didn't like before. I can't begin to explain how amazing the kulfi is. Rich, full of crushed pistachio and cashew nuts and thick n creamy. One of the best kulfis I've ever had.
