Great store for auto parts and helpful assistance. I needed windshield wiper blades for an obscure model of minivan (yes, it is possible to have an off brand minivan, sadly). Not only did the staff try three different brands to get me back on the road during a rainshower...they actually installed them in the parking low for free. Above and beyond. Large off street parking lot. Big metal trash cans for you to dump your old parts in, too. They have staffers who know where each item is, and if they don't have an item in stock, they call right then and try to get it sent to the store same day. It's the worst scenario imaginable. You're sitting at a stop light with your turn signal on, listening to sports radio on the way to work. A pre-caffeinated morning haze rolls over your eyes and mind as the light turns green. But then you notice your car has gone silent. You glance behind you to see a lineup of cars waiting for you to make the turn. In a frantic craze, you turn the key and blurt out a plethora of swear words. For me, this was my Friday morning. Fortunately, the car started back up and I was able to pull into the Napa Auto Parts just one block away. I'm a knowledge-craving guy, but cars have never been my forte, even with a dad as a mechanic. I came into Napa expecting a rip-off and a laundry list of things that needed fixed; I'd been con'd by many auto mechanics in the past. This was far from the case here. I had three separate employees take time out of their day to help me out, diagnose the problem, and even show me how to replace a part near my battery, given that they weren't supposed to do the repairs on the spot. It was the biggest breath of fresh air that I've ever received. Their manager and assistant manager both were looking out for me and offered honest advice that only cost my $3 for the meantime. That way, you don't waste time searching around. If you need a part they can look it up by make and model and get it from the back. Driving home from work at midnight, a few werks ago. Knowing ZERO about cars, all at once my headlights started dimming and my dash lit up like Christmas at Rockefeller Center. I swear.... I made it home and sat in my car, Googling. I was pretty sure it wasn't my battery which, apparently, left my alternator as the culprit. I texted a co-worker who knows cars, he agreed the alternator wss likely the issue. Everyome online was saying the people at That Other autoparts chain could change it out but my co-worker said "NO. Take it to Napa" so I got it almost all the way there before all the lights came on again, but I made it. Mike used a handheld device which indicated the alternator was. Indeed, failing. They don't work on cars there (guessing that's a corporate policy) but Mike knew A Guy. The only alternator in the store was about $80 higher than several others he could get from another store if I could wait till the next day. I couldn't. Meanwhile, he called a friend who (bless his heart) came to the store and changed out the alternator IN THE POURING RAIN, for a small fee, while I held an umbrella (thanks, Mike) over the part, to protect the electrical. Imagine this...I'm driving my minivan with 3 kids in the car on a family trip to Walmart. When all of a sudden the dashboard lights up with every repair light possible and suddenly begins to shut down. To top it all the skies look like they are about to pour rain! My mini van took a plop right in front of NAPA auto parts. I go inside and ask if the manager can help me out. He grabs some supplies, tells me upfront they usually don't do this and proceeds to check the battery and alternator in my van. He tells me the battery is dead and the alternator is going bad. He brings out a new battery and tells me they don't do installs. I ask nicely please, as I don't know what to do. He pulled the old one out and installed the new one right there! Van starts right up, kids are happy, I pay $124 and in 15 minutes I'm on my way on the road to Walmart continuing with my daily errands. I'm so happy these guys go above and beyond and grateful doesn't seem like a good enough word! These guys are the best, and I'm happy to see good people out there doing good things! read more

I am not a car guy, I can change my oil, add more of the most basic fluids in a car and perhaps do other minor repairs like change headlights. I do not speak car-talk; in that department I usually need someone to dumb it down for me. This location has friendly employees with a vast amount of knowledge of cars and at no point did they make me feel stupid for knowing all the basics. They quickly found the part I needed and guided me through the best way to put it in. I left very happy and was able to put the part in just as they described with zero problems.
