I tried Napa Auto Parts for the first time and had a really disappointing experience. The employee ordered me the wrong part, then told me shipping wasn't refundable -- something never mentioned before I paid. When I asked about it, he smirked and dismissed me. I also bought a couple of products in-store, but later saw I was charged almost double or triple the shelf prices. When I pointed it out, I was told it was my responsibility to catch their pricing mistakes. On top of that, there were no signs saying chemical products couldn't be returned or that shipping wasn't refundable. Napa auto in newark, bought a battery for my Honda and it went dead after 2 weeks, so I went back to exchange and got an upgraded battery to make sure it lasted. The 2nd battery also died a few weeks later, so I had a mechanic review and confirm battery was dead. Went to return the battery and was refused a refund stating that the clerk should never have given an upgrade battery which I paid the difference for. Today the owner has not returned my call and I'm stuck with a dead battery with no option of a refund. In this case I don't think 3rd time is a charm nor was I offered an exchange. Poor service, and the clerk mentioned she would get in trouble if I complained to the owner. WOW. Not going back there ever.... :( read more

I went to NAPA because I assumed they had better parts than someone like Amazon! What I should have done is gone directly to Ford for my parts. The parts on Amazon were about half the price which led me to believe lower quality. The Ford Parts were about the same price as NAPA, but I could get them quicker from NAPA, Hayward. Turns out the parts from NAPA were exactly the same as the ones from Amazon, only costing me double the price I should have seen the red flag here. What I should have done was return the part immediately and go to Ford for the Motorcraft part. THE STAFF and Warranty: I knew exactly what part I needed and after providing the associate with all the information he still had problems finding the part. Overall, my experience was not pleasant and it took longer to get the part. Could have purchased the same part on Amazon for much less and had it sooner. What irritates me the most is that the part failed at the 45 day point. Instead of going back to NAPA I decided I could get the same part through Ford at the same price. So when I took the part back to NAPA to get a refund the young man basically said, sorry can't do anything for you. You missed the 30 day warranty period! 30 days on a Part? Most other companies offer 90 days! Really only 30 days? Needless to say I was pissed since I was now out the $80.00 I paid for the original crap part that I could have purchased on Amazon for $40.00. I called around, found it at kragens for 59.95, carquest for 56.29 and Valley Auto Parts on Tennyson (the original hayward Napa store) for only $37.00. So I went to valley and bought both there and was helped by friendly, knowledgable people. We tried explaining what we needed but it sounded a lot like "We're looking for the part that screws onto the thingy, it's shaped like this and it twists down like this onto the long thing by the battery" once the words left my mouth, I felt like such an idiot, but Curt was so helpful, in a matter of seconds he knew exactly what we we're talking about. There are several reasons I don't shop at this store anymore. When I go into an auto parts store and ask for an 1157 bulb (for you non-car folks, this is about the most used taillight bulb in the world), I expect to get an 1157 bulb. Not "a what?". Seriously, you either know what it is or you find out. What's so freaking difficult about this? And then to have the guy come back to me and say "it's not an 1157, it's a B1157"!?!?!? What a jerk. What i seen as soon as i walked in. True story ..Walk... No one greets you, no one asks you if you need any help. Store looks Dol and no lights and really Dim. An employee was on the Phone while on the Floor. And what's this No manager on site, really one manger runs two dam stores. And really, three employees were just pretending to do work where to the point i walked around the store without anyone at least trying to Help me or two other customers. The staff at Napa really doesnt know what car parts are and they Napa are expensive, Customer service HORRIBLE, You managers should have a meeting and explain and acknowledge how to satisfy the customers. Most of us have experienced unexpected car troubles at one time or another where initially the problem seems like something that will be quick and easy to fix but several hours later has you dashing to the hardware store for one key part just before they close. Napa is the closest auto parts store to me and with the old part in hand, we made the mistake of walking through the doors 15 minutes before they closed hoping to be helped. Both workers on duty we're rude and unhelpful. I immediately apologized for coming into the store so close to their closing time. Instead of receiving help or assistance, the counter person paused long enough to give me a dirty look and then proceeded to ignore me before looking up again to tell me they were closing in 10 minutes so I needed to hurry up and get what I needed. Once again I repeated that I needed a specific part, which I was hoping they had in stock, while holding it up in my hand so he could see it. Not saying anything he turn towards the computer and begin typing. I thought at that point he was going to try to look up the part that I needed but he still didn't say anything for the next 3 to 5 minutes while he typed away before finally looking up and asking if I wanted to pay for the part that I was holding because they were getting ready to close. After once again repeating what I needed he finally asked me a few questions relating to the model and make of my vehicle before quickly telling me that they probably didn't have the part in stock and that he didn't see anything on the computer that even look like it based on the year and model car I had given him. Went to Pep Boys and AutoZone and both places were able to figure it out in under 5 minutes, even though one of them didn't have it in stock. I bought a starter for my K20 Chevy Pickup, I installed it, it went fine.. then i go to file my invoice i look on there it said it was for a C10 chevy . So I go down there to have my invoice corrected,Antonio refused to do it. He said i would have to take out my starter. course i said no way, just fix it,whats the big deal? its your screw up,fix it.. Then Antonio gave me some attitude. so im done with him, i ask for Manager he wasn't there so i ask for his number,Antonio refuses to do so,no business card no nothing..it just pisses me off when people think they do no wrong and not try to help you out. i just wonder now will my K20 be covered under this lifetime warranty for my starter,since my invoice says its a C10.. 61/2 years ago I bought a battery with 5 years warranty at the E.14TH. st. store in Oakland Ca. when I needed to replace it they told me I could only bring it back to them. At the time I lived in Sonora Ca. When I got down to the bay area they were out of business. I was able to replace that battery with a small fee well, after31/2 years I'm having the same problem. I contacted the Mission Blvd store where I made the replacement to check on my information they put into the computer because I cannot access my receipt which is boxed in a closet that has stacks of boxes in front of it. I am handicapped and this is where things were stored when I moved to Yuba City 3 1/2 years ago. Imagine my surprise when I was told they don't keep your warranty information they just take it for contact but they don't keep it. I contacted their corporate customer service and have received no help and no response since I sent them an e-mail on 9/14/16 today is 9/22/16.
