It can be intimidating (tho their app is also great) so it's nice to know A trip to Hesperian led to me being given the wrong part to purchase. Jackson street took my items back no question and helped triple check that the part was appropriate for my car. Offered to help with install and though I didn't need it, I appreciated the gesture. The staff was apologetic for the issue though it wasn't their store/staff which was also nice. The girl who answered the phone was totally unprofessional. Sounded like she was having a conversation with someone in the background and did not look up the part I needed. Also told me that it was a special order in that there was none available in the area. After looking online and seeing that they had the part, I went in to pick it up. I asked for a manager, and it was the person who she was flirting with. The manager did not do anything nor confront the female. I think the manager and the female both need to be fired. They could have lost out on $150 sale if it wasn't for the online portal. I feel like my Jetta is slowly slipping into heapdoom. The headliner slowly tears away and starts to hang. More and more lights collect on the dash and a laundry list of deferred maintenance accumulates that all the money in China couldn't pay for. Yes thats the feeling of owning a German car past the warranty period. Some strange odor was getting evermore intense inside. Was it that clogged sunroof drain acting up again? Did I lose a McDonalds cheeseburger that made its way under the seat. Or maybe we can blame Baby Wrinkles and Little Sweets - the usual suspects. These days more and more public retail establishments have worse and worse hours. Closed early and even at sundown for this reason or that. Short staffed. Crime - all these excuses. Not here - this place is open super late. Crazy late - check the hours yourself and feel free to call before you go... My first time to this new location. I feel like I visited more when it was next to The Twilight Zone. Don't know why it took so long to visit - I blame the Spaghetti streets of Downtown Hayward. Decided to give a new cabin air filter a whirl - if you've got strange odors in your car this is a great place to start. Multiple in stock including a lifetime K+N - I found the selection impressive. Got out quick - very good experience - don't ever try to dig through unorganized shelves at your local Walmart to save a buck - its not worth it - you've got better things to do like do some detective work of 'who done it.' read more

Must have been 5-6 p last Thursday. When I walked in a counter man was showing full annoyance with a customer who needed help. There was a shorter young woman at the other register then disappeared when it was my turn. The man who had been roasting his customer called out to the woman and said " I hate to bother you again." Really? I said " damn customers." She dragged herself to the counter .When I asked her for the lightbulb number for my 2015 1/2 ton van, she asked me what model. I had forgotten and she had no suggestions. In fact I ended up asking a third guy about the model and he came up with it . It was the express. By the time I had the bulb in my hand I was so posses off that I left the receipt that gets me paid back. Didn't matter. I had to get out of there. I looked at her badge. It was faded but I could barely read something about customer service. It made me gag. I will never go back. They get a top 3 in my entire life of the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I told her to look for herself on Yelp! I would advise driving anywhere else on the planet. The employees all need to take a week off without pay and call it "Employees Job Appreciation Week". No pay. No job. 24 hours after the review I have additional thoughts. If a person does not like their job they should look for another one. Some people don't belong behind a counter facing other humans. These folk would be better suited working by themselves where the public is safe from bs coming out of the mouth of the unhappy. We had an awkward experience when we came here last weekend to get a battery replaced. Our car battery stopped working right before we were about to run some errands, so me and my boyfriend decided to stop here and get it fixed real quick. Honestly, we may as well have fixed it ourselves because the young employee named Victor who helped us out was not much help at all. He refused to take out the old battery and his attitude was not very professional. Him and my boyfriend went back-and-forth about it how to go about this process and in the end my boyfriend ended up replacing the entire battery herself. The only response from the employee was, "oh, you did it!" The employee was trying to send it over to a mechanic to fix something as simple as car battery, thank goodness we know a bit about cars and were able to do it ourselves. read more

Get in the Zone! AutoZone Are you a self made car mechanic. Well I am and it's good to have a Auto Zone near by to work on car when I need it. I'm lucky enough now to have a reliable car but in the past this wasn't as true as it holds today. I am self taught in my Auto mechanic ways but with the help of AutoZone they make me look like a super star. They tend to always have the parts I need in stock and most stuff is priced about the same as you will get online. The main is if you need something they have it in stock so you don't have to wait. No one likes to wait as there car gets repaired. So going here for simple parts to just oil changes or fluids. It's nice to have a good auto parts store near by. I like to get in the Zone; the staff is friendly and will help you out. It's pretty cool that they rent or lend out tools. I need a big tool to pull out my axles and I rented the tool and returned it cheaper then just buying the tool outright for a job I just need to do one time. The only reason I got to give them 4 out of 5 is they don't have very much parking in this location and the price of oil and filters are marked up a bit much. You can get oil online or at Wallmart for the cheaper prices but in a pinch AutoZone has you covered. I would return and want to say keep up the good work at this location. read more

I placed an order for a radiator and antifreeze. Through their 800# and gave the guy a specific part # he argued with me stating that was NOT the part number when I had already looked it up in order to get that number after much going back and forth with this barely speaking English male. I had to have repeat the delivery address 4times because his three sounded like two. Then I asked to pay extra for same day delivery. I was told NO because the system didn't allow it?. So he charged my card. And was given a confirmation number for the order. But I didn't believe him. So I called back and asked another person if I could pay for same day. He said YES I COULD. they would charge me another fee. So he canceled that order gave me another number and about 4 hours later AutoZone called back asking me if I received the order, being it went to a repair facility they had been waiting for the order. I checked with the repair facility and they said they NEVER DELIVERED THE PART? So I told the guy the driver never delivered!!!. Come to find out the CANCELED BOTH ORDER'S AND CHARGED ME FOR BOTH. THEN THEY LIED AND SAID IT WAS GOING OUT FEDEX NEXT DAY? WHEN THE SHOP IS ONLY 4MILES AWAY INSTEAD OF REDELIVERING. THEN COME TO FIND OUT AFTER CHECKING THE FEDEX NUMBER ONLY A NUMBER HAD GENERATED NO PARTS WAS EVER PICKED UP? WOW WHAT A BUNCH OF DUMB IGNORANT LIARS. I'm assuming he is new because he didn't know how to look for parts in the computer he kept asking this short straight brown hair Chola like Latina girl with a very bad attitude problem. (I assumed) she was a supervisor or so because she kept telling the new kid what to do. The Kid went to get the battery I needed for my Kia Optima ex and when he got back to the register I told him I need to have my current battery tested before I purchase the new one and if I was to purchase the new battery if they can install it because my car earlier didn't turn on I had to jump started. The young guy asked this short Latina girl, she turned around and said NO we don't do that, and PER YOUR WEBSITE, and TV ADVERTISEMENT. (I was saying to myself how so because again it is promoted) then I asked her, so you guys can't install this $300 battery that I need right now? She goes (again with her attitude) "if you want you can't buy it and if it doesn't work for you or your current battery is good just bring it back" I was like wow ok so you guys CANNOT do it for me? I held another 5/7mns I called again she answered I said please don't put me on hold (and didn't give me a chance to finished and she put me on hold) again I called (I wanted to know the managers name) she answered and again I said don't put me and if course she just hung up I called again some guy answered the phone I asked for the manager he said how can I help I said what is the name of the short girl that's working there right now "he said he didn't know she's new" I said ok what's your name? He said Joseph I said whhats the name of the manager? He said Joseph I said oh like you? He said I'm the manager. I asked oh you're the manager and you don't know your employees name? I no longer needed the part, called and asked the store to cancel my order since there wasn't an option on their app. I check back today to see if I'm refunded and I wasn't. The app stated that I "picked up" the order. I never placed foot in the store to receive the item. I called the store today and told them what I said above and all I was told was that I have to come in with a receipt or call customer service. I went there to get a light bulb for my car, the girl there was " what car" so I explained. She mentioned a code number, which I didn't even remember when she just pointed on the aisle. I shop at this store when I need a very specific part or have a question. Walmart sells basics like oil and wax cheaper, but for many things you need a real auto parts store. This AutoZone has a large in-stock inventory and next day availability in many other cases. They've always checked that a requested part is a match for my car. Not just once in their system to go retrieve it, but again with the actual at the counter. A couple of times they've pointed out if an alternative brand has a rebate offer available. In addition, the store is clean, well organized, and staffed by friendly associates. Does performing what should be standard business operations and customer service deserve 5 stars? Not sure, but each time I've left I've felt like they exceeded my expectations. Admittedly, those expectations have been beaten down by a few visits to the nearby O'Reilly. read more
