It took a while for the server to return, but we eventually placed our appetizer and entrée orders. I was only drinking water and specifically asked for ice water. He came back with just ice, and my water carafe was never refilled the entire meal. Our appetizer came out, and within seconds the entrées arrived as well. The table was too small to comfortably fit everything, and although the server checked on us at that moment, we were still eating our appetizer. After that, he disappeared again. I didn't like the dressing on my salad and tried to get his attention, but he didn't return for about 20 minutes. By the time I got a different dressing, I wasn't even hungry anymore -- and it didn't improve the dish. When he asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu, he left our plates on the table and didn't come back with the menu for about 10 minutes. We eventually decided to skip dessert, and even clearing the plates took longer than it should have. The restaurant wasn't busy, so we weren't sure why the service was so slow and inconsistent. We were finally able to dine at NAPA! The decorations were so cute! Definitely the highlight of going there. I hope the do the same for Valentines day. We had a 6:15 and were sat right away. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. For starters we ordered the she crab soup (9/10), the wedge salad (8/10), and the Margherita pizza (8/10). For our entrees we got the Shrimp Risotto (8/10) it was a little watery but good, the Hibachi steak fried rice (5/10), the Churrasco Steak (7/10), and the kids smash burger meal (8/10) according to my 5 year old, lol. I have been to this restaurant several times now. One time for brunch, twice for dinner and once for appetizers/happy hour. The brunch experience was a let down but the evening experiences have always left me very happy. The atmosphere is energetic in the evening. Pretty loud, but not uncomfortably so. Service has been mostly on point in the evening, though when we went in mid-December it took forever to get drinks. We started ordering them when we were only halfway done with the one we had and still were waiting. Outside of that the servers have been friendly and attentive. Also in December the server brought me fresh fries (I didn't ask) when she realized mine were an older batch and the other person at our table's burger was held up waiting for fries. Thought that was thoughtful. The food has been very good. My husband is obsessed with the fried goat cheese appetizer. I don't like goat cheese, but I will eat the warm figs that come with it! He also had the Rustico flatbread that has goat cheese and said it was delicious. I have had a smash burger (really yummy), calamari (yum!), tuna nachos (I don't eat tuna but all the rest of the nachos were good....obvi this was shared with a friend who does like tuna). I really like the oysters Rockefeller. Hubby and friends also have gotten sushi rolls they really liked the Buddha roll and said it was surprising. I tried the lotus roll bc they all said it was good, but I didn't realize it has seaweed on it. I can't get past that flavor. So be aware that even the rolls that don't have fish do have seaweed. We had some friends visiting from out of town who chose Napa for a dinner destination. My review is strictly based off the happy hour specials because that was really all we got (minus the pork belly burnt ends). This is a fairly solid Happy Hour menu. I'm a huge fan of Sedona Taphouse so being that they are owned by the same people, I knew happy hour would be good. Started off with white sangria which was tasty. I'm not huge on wine but I had 2 glasses of the sangria. As a group, we got a variety! I'll list below - Fried oysters - $1 each. Can't beat it. Minimum of 6 but could have easily eaten more. Margarita pizza - I didn't sample this one but friend said it was good. Lettuce wraps - again, good. No complaints. Smash burger - $6? That's it! This thing was GOODT! Filling. And if you like pickles, there's plenty. Sushi - also didn't taste but the HH portion is about 10 pieces. Huge for the price. Service was also amazing. Our waitress was truly on top of it. Being that dined here mid January, we were thrilled the amazing Christmas decorations were still up!! You can tell the staff put a lot of thought and effort into the fun decor. For food, I had the She Crab Soup. It was probably one of the best She Crab soups I have ever had. For my entree, I had the Churassco Steak. Joined a business associate last night on the patio for happy hour. I arrived early for my reservation and was greeted and seated promptly. Jenny was our server and was outstanding from start to finish. We had sushi, edamame and a new dish of shrimp fried rice - and three glasses of wine! Everything was perfect. Westchester Commons can be a little confusing to navigate but once you find where you need to be, there's plenty of parking! We were a party of nine on a very busy afternoon but the waitstaff were all kind and helpful. I had the lunch sushi special - $20 for a sushi roll of my choice and a cup of she crab soup. Both were delicious and the sushi was large and filling. The blackberry sangria was extremely sweet but not strong and flavorful. Lots of seating available and they have a private room to rent. I've been wanting to try this place for a gajillion years and I FINALLY made it out. I would have loved to sit on the patio but maybe when it's warmer, right? We were seated by the window and it was nice having such a nice airy view while eating. The seating arrangements were a tad too tight but it was still cozy. The server was nice and bright, and the ambience was warm. The burnt ends were not quite worth the price and I would not suggest the dish. The soup was hot and flavorful and was on special to boot. The mile high carrot cake was ordered with high expectations but the cake fell short, lacking the right mixture of ingredients and being undercooked in the middle. Amongst these things are curated fine-wine-centric dining and events, self-serve wine ((and now bourbon!!)) tasting stations, and- my favorite- fried goat cheese balls . The self serve bourbon tasting station is the first in Richmond and offers a rotating variety of high end bourbons. We almost always start with the . Goat cheese tends to be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of ingredient, but if there were ever a dish to help sway where you fall on the spectrum, this would be it. Panko-crusted and lightly fried to a non-greasy ṕéŕféćtíőń, the balls are then nestled artfully along a wooden trestle amongst and roasted figs. They are then drizzled with balsamic glaze and honey and finished off with fresh sprigs of rosemary. This dish is so satisfying to both the stomach and visual aesthetic . This is my second time at this place. A few months ago we had dinner and it was okay- not the best but not the worst by far. I mostly remembered that my main dish was pretty good, appetizer delicious, and we had to pay for bread for the table (this drives me nuts at restaurants with price points over $20-$25 for entrees). Mostly I remembered a really good server and nice ambiance. Fast forward to yesterday. I met a girlfriend for lunch and we sat on the nicely shaded patio. We both had wine: my sauvignon blanc was tasty and at only $7 a glass it was a steal. Fried goat cheese appetizer was a hit. We both got the grilled chicken sandwich. What a mistake. It came out hot and the fries were fresh but the chicken was terribly bland. In fact the whole dish lacked flavor. Add onto it that the lettuce made my bottom bun soggy enough that it was falling apart when it came to the table. I dropped close to $40 on something that could have been much better. Service was amazing, everybody was nice and polite from hostess to our server who checked on us numerous times during our meal making sure we are happy with everything. We ordered cocktails - Bees Knees and Live wire, both were good, a bit sweet and tangy and looked nice. Appetizers - blistered shishito peppers that come with paprika lemon aioli some of the peppers could've been blistered a bit more bc they were quite raw but but overall pretty good, aioli was yummy. We also tried fried oysters those were delicious lightly battered crispy outside and soft in middle, they come with wasabi aioli that had some kick but not too overpowering. While apps were delicious I wasn't impressed with rest of our meal. Lobster roll was okay, there's was enough lobster meat just a bit dry and chopped up finely so no big juicy chunks of lobster, it comes with shoestring fries and those were crispy and yummy. I had Asian lettuce wraps and all I can say I had better, meat mixture just needed something something to make it pop, maybe more spice or sauce? To finish we had French press coffee that was pretty good and we shared bourbon caramel cheesecake bars. I expected more from this dessert but it was a bit on a dry side and absolutely couldn't taste any bourbon in it so this would be a pass for me. The atmosphere here is spot on, did a great job breaking up the space and making it feel new and modern. The various bars and outdoor space mean you can likely come back for some variant. My drink was good for a quick end of the night before close date; and they were keeping the kitchen going all the way up to close - which was a pleasant surprise. The flavors were not bad, could use a little tweaking I think for the gnocchi, being a little more muted and "Americana bland" than I was wanting. But still worth a visit and I'll probably be trying to come back to see what else is worth having. Simple order my husband I ordered the same exact thing. The server mentioned to save room for the lemon bars which we thought were complimentary since we informed her it was our anniversary and thats why she mentioned the lemon bars. Food was tasty but meat and potatoes were Luke warm while the corn looked like it was hot and the last thing on the plate. The lemon bars were not complimentary. Came here for Sunday brunch today. Really had high hopes this would be a winner. We had made reservations via Open Table for 12:30. Got here on time, but still had to wait a few minutes before being seated. The crowd was rather large, and very few tables were open. They were definitely busy. In the bar area, a jazz group was playing some great Brazilian samba standards from Tom Jobim, etc., and really well! We were seated shortly thereafter and greeted by our enthusiastic waiter who promptly took our drink orders. They were served quickly, despite such a busy crowd, and we opted for the Rustico Fletbread for our appetizer. A few minutes later, our pizza arrived. It was the perfect size for sharing, topped with pieces of prosciutto, goat cheese, pear, and a light amount of walnuts and basalmic glaze. It was absolutely superb! For our entrees, I ordered the Crab Benedict and opted for an additional English muffin instead of the potatoes. She ordered the Lobster omelet. Both were served soon thereafter. However, my benedict was serve in possibly the most unappetizing of ways, and stood plainly on the plate. Even a garnish of something might have made it a bit more pleasant. The English muffin was scorched/charred, and not browned/toasted. The crab had a very "fishy" smell, and was flaked (not lump as per the menu). Her omelet was a bit more appetizing looking, but with small lumps of lobster on top and hardly warm. The waiter returned, and we requested to send both items back. I exchanged for the Shrimp and Grits (with 2 poached eggs), and she opted for the Avocado Toast (with over-easy eggs). Moments later we were served. My Shrimp and Grits looked good (sans eggs), and her Avocado toast appeared to be more appetizing than her initial choice. When I inquired about the eggs, the waiter said he'd get these "right away." I took a few bites. Dish was barely warm, but edible and the flavor was pretty good overall. Her avocado toast was done nicely, and she seemed to enjoy it. The waiter returned about that time and informed me that "they don't have anymore poached eggs." I stated "but you're still serving benedict dishes that have poached eggs," in which he replied "they said something about the machine being 'broken'." I smirked. He was very apologetic, and I ordered two over-easy eggs that were brought out immediately. We finished our meals and opted for a small desert to share. The waiter continued to apologize for the poor experience and offered a cheesecake "on the house." We opted for the pineapple creme brulee instead which was served in a thick slice of pineapple. Very interesting, and was done quite well. I think we would likely like to try this place again, but we were rather surprised that even after sending back both original plates of food, at no time did a manager ever come to our table to inquire about the issues or offer an apology. For drinks we ordered prosseco and a dash of grand marnier which completely elevated the flavor. I ordered a cup of she crab soup and so glad I did because it was BOMB af. Loved that it had lumps of crab meat and a little spice to it. Definitely order it. The bread basket was decent but probably wouldn't order it again. As far as the entrees, they were hit or miss. I ordered the classic Benedict and it was okay. The side of potatoes were awful. No flavor what so over. I would give it a 3/5. My friends ordered a ranch skillet, chicken and waffles with scrambled eggs, and avocado toast. The ranch skillet was bland and was tolerable to eat with hot sauce. The waffle was tasteless and the eggs were over cooked. The chicken was alright but lacked flavor. The avocado toast was a hit though. The ingredients were fresh and very well balanced. For desert we had the pineapple crème brûlée, strawberry icecream, and chocolate cake. All suburb! No complaints what so ever. The cake is a must try! The service I will say was very good.
