The results: frustration, uncertainty, increased costs, sloppy work, and a project that I must now pay another contractor to finish. He first gave me a general estimate, but when I provided some pictures and additional information, he gave me a more precise estimate. Based on competing quotes I received, the cost was reasonable. Since I was arranging the work long-distance, I had to coordinate among myself, Damien, and a relative. This wasn't a problem. Damien said he could come by at noon and he, along with a colleague, showed up exactly on time. He completed the work as promised at the price he quoted. They were able to identify and clear blockage, and identify where roots were encroaching.
