We didn't know we came for happy hour so that was a happy surprise, we ended up ordering the shrimp app on the happy hour menu and it was DELICIOUS, then we got the spicy rigatoni with grilled and breaded chicken. It was really good, but super spicy! My SFIL absolutely loved it though and killed the rest of my dish that I couldn't finish. Most of the group had the lamb ragu orecchiette and thought it was quite good. Both burrata appetizers were really good and thoroughly liked by the table. Service was attentive and we were never rushed. I really enjoyed that the restaurant wasn't super crowded. There were other tables but they were far away enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other.

And then there's Sharon. She came over personally to wish us a happy anniversary, and we found out that it also happened to be her and Buddy's 28th wedding anniversary! Throughout the night, she kept coming by to check on us, giving us a squeeze, making sure we were taken care of, and just genuinely making us feel like family. Before we left, she gave us both a huge hug and made us promise we'd come back. THAT is what makes a restaurant magical. And the food? Incredible. The Sunday Sauce. The scallops. The steak. The gnocchi. The ice box cake. Every single thing we ate was fantastic, and we walked out absolutely stuffed. But as good as the food was, what I'll remember most is how Sharon and her staff made us feel. I actually walked out with my wife and got a little emotional. The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

Try this place if you want to get fed but if you are looking for real taste of a pizza this is not authentic. The dough feels heavy to digest, I am not sure it is properly let to rest and it is clear from the menu that this is American pizza, nothing to do with Naples, regardless of their name. Sorry but Hoboken offers much more in the pizza scene. read more

I've eaten pizza all over -- Texas, NYC (Upper Manhattan and the Bronx years back), and plenty of places in between since starting my trucking career. Back home in San Antonio we even have a so-called "NYC style" spot like Florio's Pizza, but respectfully, it's not close to what you get in New Jersey or New York. It works when you're hungry, but this was on another level. After this meal, I honestly feel like I'll critique every slice I eat going forward. When you've had the real thing, your standards shift. We walked in not knowing what to expect. Movies tend to paint a certain picture of Jersey, but that stereotype disappeared immediately. The door was opened by a friendly Jersey native who welcomed us in warmly. Being from Texas, I appreciate genuine hospitality, and that's exactly what we received. The same gentleman behind the counter took our order. Once he found out we were from Texas, his face lit up. He was all smiles, courteous, and clearly proud of the food he was serving. The place itself was quaint, quiet, and had that old-school neighborhood feel. It felt comfortable, like somewhere locals return to regularly. I asked what the most iconic or most ordered pizzas were. He mentioned pepperoni, chicken parm, vodka sauce with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto, and we ultimately chose the 18-inch Meat Lovers. We also ordered buffalo wings, cheese balls, and two Mexican Cokes. The pizza was outstanding. Pepperoni, sausage, bacon, plus two additional meats I honestly forgot because I was focused on how good it tasted. The crust was perfectly balanced -- crisp on the outside, sturdy underneath, but not dry. The sauce and cheese ratio was spot on, and the meats were layered in a way that delivered flavor without overwhelming the slice. What really stood out was that the pizza wasn't greasy at all. No oil pooling on top, no soaked-through bottom, no napkins stained orange. Each slice held its structure from tip to crust. Clean bottom. Crisp bite. Flavor forward without feeling heavy. You could actually taste the ingredients instead of just oil and salt. That level of execution makes a difference. The buffalo wings were equally impressive. Hot, fresh, and crispy with the right amount of sauce -- not drowning, not dry. They tasted like they were marinated or at least prepared with intention. They did not feel like a frozen, mass-produced product. They were balanced, flavorful, and cooked properly. The cheese balls were different from what I expected in a good way. Not the typical gooey mozzarella stick experience. These were crispy little balls with a more structured interior -- almost slightly crumbly, possibly incorporating sharper cheeses like Parmesan, Pecorino Romano, or Grana Padano in the coating. Savory and unique. What made the experience even better was the understanding that restaurants are ultimately about people. When you walk into a place, you're experiencing the individuals hired and trained to cook and serve your meal. Not everyone leaving reviews has worked in a kitchen or handled a rush, and that context matters. When I leave a review, it's my honest opinion, and here the staff clearly cared about quality and execution. Starting my trucking career has allowed me to travel and try places I otherwise wouldn't. Some spots are hits, some are misses, and some simply aren't my preference. This was a clear hit. We only had a small window of time while waiting on a nearby load, but it turned into one of the best food stops I've had. The atmosphere, the pride, the quality, and the lack of shortcuts were evident. Late post because driving kept me busy, but this one deserved recognition. Piscitelli Pizza & Pasta delivered one of the best pies I've had in my lifetime. I'll gladly return the next time I'm running through North Jersey.
