Second time here, I must say it was better than the first. Friday nights seem to be better than Saturday if you don't like massive crowds. Fried wontons for appy were delicious. Fried to perfection with a chili dipping sauce. Green curry shrimp were plentiful and nice and spicy. The green curry duck was equally enjoyed. This place opened about a year ago. Luckily they popped up on yelp as when we moved in there was no Thai restaurants in the area and I just happened to search on yelp tonight. Very happy that I did! This place was wonderful. We came with our toddler whose normally very well behaved. Needless to say, tonight he was not. The staff was fantastic. They were so friendly and helpful and everyone was so sweet, regardless of how much terror he caused. This alone is reason to give them 5 stars. That being said, the food was excellent. We had the appetizer sampler, the grilled pork chop and the seafood pad Thai. Every item we ate was excellent. Really top notch. The absolute winner was the pork chop though. Another visit: Very friendly waitress (from Long Island), we loved her. The kitchen timing is all off. Again the 2nd and 3rd appys came out 10 mins after the 1st. Then within five minutes all the main courses came out. So the table was full with 3 appys and 4 main dishes. Not acceptable. Had chicken wings and spare ribs, both OK. My wife thought the sweet & sour chicken was too sweet. L & E enjoyed the pork chop. Now 3 stars cause of service and food not as good as last time. First visit: Very good food with spotty service. We went in December and we had a wonderful experience. Our waitress and servers included Bow who was personable and attentive. The restaurant is comfortable and attractive with pleasant decor. The food lived up to expectations. We tried and enjoyed roti, Singapore laksa, pineapple fried rice and fried wontons. The menu and cooking are very creative. We can't wait to go back and try more! We have eaten at Pokok several times. Usually as a family, but last night went as a couple. Their grilled squid is cooked perfectly and comes with a spicy dipping sauce. For our entrees last night, we got the Thai salad fish and the massaman chicken curry bread bowl. The fish was deboned and fried and topped with a spicy vinegary green mango salsa. I loved it. My husband found the sauce too sour. I think I ate 3/4 of the fish. All that was left was a head and a tail. We remember liking the chicken curry better last time. Still good, but I don't know if they changed the recipe. Typically, we'd get the sticky rice with mango for dessert but I was stuffed. Next time. And there will be a next time. read more

I truly loved the relaxing atmosphere and the food. The service was excellent! My wife and I loved our chosen dishes. I had the Fried Seafood w/ Ginger and it was sublime. The fresh ginger and broth was delicious. However, I was very disappointed with the grilled squid appetizer. It was nothing like the picture nor worth the price. I will never order it again. Food is great and they do deserve credit for that. The problem is the servers don't understand English. We went as a party of 9 and four people couldn't find a way to ask "whether shrimp in a dish are breaded/coated or not". The picture showed them plain non-breaded but when it came they were breaded. When questioned they said picture in the menu is wrong. So dishes were done exactly the opposite as requested. Similarly for one dish which was requested to be done mild they didn't pay attention and did spicy. They rush and take away food while u are eating. They literally snatch plates out of ur hands. One of the guest went to restroom and they removed his plates/cutlery. Sodas were served without ice/lemon. So do visit but find a way to communicate and tell servers don't come after serving food, u will come to them if u need anything. They are new and will learn hopefully. read more

This place is a gem! If you like Thai food you definitely need to give it a try. The restaurant is beautiful, with a very chic decor and CLEAN. We were impressed with Everything from the spring rolls with peanut sauce to the curry chicken, the food was fresh and delicious. They even gave us a mini usb fan for our cell phone since we were first time guests; very nice touch . I Definitely recommend if you're looking for a great spot to eat around the Freehold area. This place is so overpriced it's kind of ridiculous. Spring rolls for 11.99? They also falsely advertise. Their menu shows a noodle dish with vegetables, but when ordering that dish and receiving it, it had no vegetables. Went there the other night, beautiful restaurant, food was excellent. Service was great. Had the chicken wings appetizer and rib dinner. Wings were fantastic and done to perfection. Ribs were plentiful and cooked just right for my taste, not too crisp or too moist. My lovely date enjoyed a beautiful and tasty pineapple and shrimp dish, that was a sight to see. Over all, food was excellent, atmosphere was quiet. A great place to bring some wine and enjoy a quiet intimate dinner with friends and family. Finally went here for the first time last night. Being a vegetarian couple, when I looked online there seemed to be 0 selection. But then I called them and they said anything could be made vegetarian. The place is cute and the staff were very nice. We were seated right away by a women who had a huge smile. The menus are pretty, but obviously made poorly since the spelling mistakes are hysterical and rampant. Luckily each item has a picture so there was no confusion of what you were ordering. We were able to get the veggie spring rolls, tofu Panag curry, and veggie drunken noodles. The drunken noodles were amazing!! The pang curry was okay, not the best I have had but not the worst. It was just a bit bland and surprisingly salty. Overall we liked the food. I can easily see myself going back since we live nearby and even taking our friends since it's a large space. read more

This is one great place. Heard about it and finally decided to come for a visit. Read all the reviews below to understand what Im getting into, was a bit skeptical at first but got totally amazed during my visit. Interior decorations are done in a very pleasant way. Light was also done professionally. Every table had live flowers on it. Even both dishes that we ordered had at least 2 live flowers each. Menu is a bit confusing, especially the to-go version, so just use the regular one - it has great pictures that give a thai cuisine newbie a good understanding what would be served. Service was nice and really fast, no points got deducted (this is my big subtraction item usually), and a full tip amount was granted. Next pleasant surprise: water came in a pretty good glasses and did not had that "just poured from the toilet" taste, which is also a common problem in certain places. Food is whats going to keep me coming back, probably for dinners as I'd rather come in for a longer visit, and probably bring some alcohol with me. I ordered pineapple fried rice, picture in the previous review does gives a general idea on size but it sure lacks presentation and composition. Taste was excellent, I grabbed the big serving spoon and just kept using it until everything was gone. For the prices that resulted in many stars being taken away. This is a 2 dollar sign ($$) establishment under current yelp system. Which means that you can expect to spend 11-30$ per person for lunch. Dinner will cost you more as some dishes do reach 40$ range. Is it worth it? Definitely yes. Is it possible to get something in the area for half this price, especially for lunch? Again, definitely yes. Do you know whats good about this price level? You see suites, doctors and other white collars, and no work boots in dirty jeans. In my opinion that alone grants extra points. On the other hand having lunch specials that come "in a small serving size" priced 1 or 2$ under the dinner portion is somewhat unusual. Maybe at some point in the future it would make sense to have daily lunch specials at 10$. Maybe certain items on the menu need to be reevaluated. But that all for later. For now just come in, bring your family, or a date. And enjoy really good cuisine and superb service. If 30 per person is high for you - make it a special occasion dinner, not just every day lunch. But, whatever your logic, visit and try this place for yourself; you will not regret time and money spent. read more

In a nutshell, this place is very promising. It was our first time, thanks to fellow yelpers that had good reviews of the place. I couldn't give it five stars YET because we can only try a few of their dishes on our first visit. Started off with bubble tea, which took a while to get and came short of sweetness and ice. The shrimp ball appetizer needed a little bit of kick - there was almost no taste to it without having to dip it in their sweet chili sauce. We also tried the shrimp rolls, which were fine except the picky ester that I am would have preferred the shrimp to be deveined, regardless of whether it is exposed or wrapped. The Tom Yum noodle had a very nice soup base but for some reason, I would have wanted it to go with a ramen-like noodle rather than the flat rice noodles. And then the drunken noodle definitely left something to be desired. First, we should have been given the spice level option. Second, the sauce that was used to flavor the pad see ew was less flavorful than other restaurants i've tried. We also ordered the tamarind fish. It was the best of all the dishes we ordered but very expensive. One suggestion - serve it on a very hot iron plate and pour the tamarind sauce table side and make it sizzle. Overall, some refinements are needed to put more oomph in the flavor, texture and options to their dishes (at least on those that we tried). Oh and please do away with the cone-shaped serving of rice. It's better to serve it in a cup, fluffy white and steaming hot. The cone shape looked funny and not appetizing. Ambiance was nice and cozy. Food price to quality and enjoyment ratio was just ok. I expected more for the price I paid. Still I would give this place 4 stars. We will come back another day, but no rush. read more

My husband and I went there last Friday. All the food came cold after almost one hour wait. I complained to the waitress(the older one) who was not nice anyway. But she just said sorry without providing any further action. So we only left 10% tips on credit card. The waitress walked to us after seeing the tips amount and yelled at us:"Why you only gave me 10% tips? " I was very upset and told her that that was what her service deserved.
