We tried Nara to see the changes. Honestly, I'm not too fond of the newer recipes. I don't understand why the curries are all so sweet. The roti was soggy and very oily. It was so disappointing.

I came here the other night with a friend and I will 100% be back ASAP. I LOVE this place. The service was fantastic, the woman serving us was so friendly, and just had such great energy. The restaurant has such a unique decor, with these really cute booths. Last but certainly not least, the food. I got the Pad See Ew with tofu and it is the best I have ever had. The food came out extremely quick, nice and hot, and delicious. Portions were generous and my friend got the Drunken Noodles with beef, and she said that they were amazing as well. Prices are very reasonable too, and they have some deals depending on what day of the week you go. I highly recommend this spot!!! Definitely a new favorite!

It has been several years, since I'd been to this location. It was formerly called Pokok Southeast Thai and now Nara Thai. I'm happy to report that everything from the delectable food, to the stellar service, to the modern ambiance helped make this birthday dinner for a friend excellent. Food: We ordered Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Thai Red Curry with Chicken, and Chicken with Vegetables and Cashew nut. Everything was full of flavor and spice and not watered down for the American palette. We did ask for the entrees to be mild. They were still very spicy. Service: We received exceptional, friendly and personable service. Ambiance: The interior is very modern interior for a restaurant, located in an unassuming strip mall. Everything from curtains that adorn the booths, to green foliage with a buddha sculpture create a nice vibe for a great dining experience. Price: The other prices appear to be on par with similar establishments.

The noodles were very good, however, the chicken dish was dry. Carrots were sour (I think they went bad?). Service was poor. We had to ask for utensils after the waitress brought our food. We ordered boba, but the first time the waitress made it, it didn't have the boba in it. We requested a remake. After 10 min, we still didn't get it, meanwhile, she was talking on the phone w/ her airpods in. We were already close to finishing our food, so we just ended up canceling the drink. The decor was beautiful though! Loved the cushions and lights and centerpieces

Went here after almost 3 years and got the favorites - Thai Green Lemon Fish (#33) and Fried Beef on Hot Iron Plate (#46), with a mango milk tea. The fish was particularly delicious (golden pompano), which felt different from my visit 3 years back. Couldn't get enough of it. Customer service 10/10.

The Tom Yum soup was only thing I enjoyed, everything else I ordered was either too sweet or was drenched in sauce. Would not return.

Ask the Community - Nara Thai

    Do they have gluten-free menu?

    Is this a halal?

Unfortunately we are sorry to say that we’re not Halal certified at this time.

Is the restaurant currently open? I've seen both open and closed signs in front of the restaurant at the same time. As a follow up how do you order?

Yes the restaurant is open for takeout orders. We are open 12-8pm everyday except Monday’s. Please call the restaurant main phone to order. We are not taking cash payments for the safety of both staff and customers.…

    Hi , Do they deliver?

Yes. They only have online delivery which are DoorDash and uber eats.

    Is it pricey?

No, but it's not cheap either! The dishes are of excellent quality so if the price is not that cheap, you'll know why.

That sadly was the best part of the night. We ordered; 8 AYCE and 2 ordered ala carte. My wife's vegetarian and doesn't eat much and my mom doesn't eat raw sushi and ordered the teriyaki shrimp. 1. The service is horrible. We waited 20mins to get our first appetizers. The waitress just dropped off plates and didn't explain what they were. My mom noticed the table next to us ordered what she got and a few minutes later, the waitress asked if she received her entree, which she replied no, and then she went to the table next to us and grabbed their plate and brought it back to the kitchen. We assume they reheated and replated the dish because it was way overcooked. 2. Long wait. Some items didn't arrived after over an hour and we asked about them multiple times. As we were ordering our 2nd round, we just reordered them. We got our waters refilled often but they never checked in to see if we were receiving our food or if we wanted to order more. Like they didn't ask one time. 3. Lost in translation. My parents are immigrants, so I am pretty understanding but the waitress didn't understand much of what I was saying and when I asked for extra ginger while pointing at it she looked very confused. I also asked her what a few items were when she brought them, and she didn't respond. 4. 10% coupon: don't bother trying to use the 10% off coupon from their own website. When we asked for the check, I showed her the coupon and she looked confused like I made it up and I let her know it was from their website under "coupons". She went to the back to ask about it and returned to say it was for online orders only. I mentioned that the coupon doesn't have any fine print except it can't be used with any other offers, and she didn't try to help at all which was frustrating. At the end of the day, it was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had. The food quality was ok except for my mom getting a reheated meal. But the service was terrible. It sucks to have to wait so long for food and things coming out randomly and my son and wife waiting over an hour for their items while others are pretty much done. Save yourself the aggravation and try something else.

Two of us ordered the Whole Crispy Red Snapper which our server suggested ordering just one and sharing. We ordered two but it was huge. Duck Lo Mein was also plentiful and the Honey Miso Salmon was a dish not found in most other Chinese restaurants. Menu was limited for events which is fine, our party leader pre-ordered for all tables. I don't eat sushi / shellfish so unfortunately I can't comment on that part of the meal. We had chicken lettuce wraps, spring rolls & calamari for apps (sorry forgot to take pix). For hot items we had shrimp fried rice, Thai basil shrimp, sesame chicken & pepper beef (allegedly made with filet mignon). Main comments are on the chicken & beef. Sesame chicken was hit or miss with tender or very chewy. Same for lettuce wraps. Beef was cooked well done (which is a shame if it was filet) & also had chewy pieces. Flavor was good however. Sushi eaters seemed to enjoy that but both shrimp dishes weren't finished. Other main comment is we had booths on one side, wooden chairs on the other at our tables. I sat in a chair which became very uncomfortable after a short time. Bummer as the place itself is modern & inviting. Finally, service for our party was good, didn't see any issues.

When it comes to food, I never judge a burger by its bun, so thanks to Yelp for helping me find it. The sign in the window says "Asian fusion" which usually sends me running as it's often a cop-out label for bad mixed-up Asian cooking, but this is authentic y'all, meaning true-to-tradition dishes with a sometimes more contemporary application of ingredients or flavors. The "fusion" part must come from the fact that they have a small Taiwanese section as well as the main Szechuan/Sichuan menu, alongside a few familiar Chinese-American favorites like sesame chicken or broccoli x protein, so you can get that here too. Everything we ordered was phenomenal! Great flavors, generous portions, cooked with confidence and finesse. Compliments to the kitchen - they really know what they're doing. Not a single dish was lacking. They even put out peanuts at the start and serve fresh orange slices at the end of the meal. Very old school. We loved it all: * Salt & white pepper crispy chicken ("Taiwanese specialty") - well-battered and flavored, and perfectly crispy * Taiwanese minced pork rice * Chicken red curry - fabulous, with fresh vegetables and just the right balance of spice * Golden dish (fish) - very special dish in a salted duck egg yolk batter * Beef chow fun * Marinated crispy duck Wish I lived closer, but will definitely come back when we are in the area.
