We were here for yesterday because they had a promotion of 50% off on pad Thai and curry dishes. Everything went ok. Food wasn't that great but expected since we are in Humble area. We had a party of 7 and did order on the promotion items as described by the restaurant. But after paying I was recalculated the amount of the bill and found out they overcharged us. We had 5 pad Thai and none of them was discounted. They only discounted the curry dishes When asked the server Emili used the excuse that she forgot to do that in the system. Really???? I understand you may forgot to take off one item on the bill but 5??? That's more like intentional than a purely mistake. I did tell the manager about the issue and they did give me the discount as in their promotion but I felt very bad to be scammed like that. The manager did apologize but I don't see any sincerity on his part neither. I strongly suggest the management should review their policies and definitely should not scam your customers. Honesty should always be the best policy for your business. read more

I used to LOVE their food, I'd come all the time for their orange chicken and crab angels. I've been going since they opened years ago. As of now, I know the food has changed a bit and I know the portion sizes changed. Used to give you more food, then they downsized in portions, but now I don't know since I haven't gone back. The reason I haven't gone back is because I got the worst food poisoning in my life from there. I ordered the red curry with the crab angels that time and I don't know which of those two got me sick. Haven't gone back since and that was over a year ago. Hopefully their food prep has changed, either way, I'm too scared to go back! Always consistent good food and service. The restaurant is clean, and the waiters are friendly. They have a separate gluten free menu when dining in, which is incredible for anyone who has gluten insensitivities or celiac. Came midday the place was empty, but their ToGo orders are nonstop that's how you know the food is good. Sat at the bar for lunch. Since I was the only one dining in, I got my food fast & it was steamy good!!! I typically try the same thing at every Thai restaurant (Pad Kee Mao or Pad See Ew) & the flavors were perfection. I was near the area and decided to try this place out for lunch. The staff was attentive and friendly and they had a good variety of options on their menu, including plenty of vegetarian options. I got the drunken noodles with tofu at a level 2 spice and thought it was pretty good, with a mild spice. I do wish they offered a lunch special but they are extremely reasonably priced. read more

Nara Thai is a great local Lake Houston Thai spot. My favorite dish is their Thai Cashew Nut Tofu dish. Always fresh veggies & great tasting ingredients & food. Great overall experience! The food, the service and ambiance of the restaurant is excellent. I had the Pad See Eue with Spice Level Medium with a side of white rice. It was delicious at the restaurant and my leftovers were just as delicious at home. My wife had one of the soups and had excellent flavor. Asia Market is back and is rocking my world weekly (Main St north of downtown), but there's another one that people often overlook... an unassuming cult favourite tucked away in an unfashionable part of fashionable Midtown, next to a gas station, across from the Greyhound: I give you, Nara. There are 3 other Naras as well, one in Cypress/Spring (just as good, more fancy), one in Baytown (not tried it yet), and this one in Humble (my least fave so far, but still good). There's nothing Humble about Humble, but it does have a couple of good restaurants mixed in with all the mediocrity, and one of those good restaurants is Nara. The location on 1860 and the Express location next to downtown are far superior in my opinion, as this menu seems more bland and Americanized, and didn't quite get it done for me. But having said all that, it is pretty delicious and definitively superior to a lot of the other stuff in this neighbourhood, or crap like Thai Gourmet, and for that reason I highly recommend you stop by and give it a try when you're in town, because there really aren't that many amazing meals in Humble, and this one is definitely up there, sort of like Biden's electoral college tally which is getting up there so hopefully bye bye Trump you m*****f***** which might mean Nara Express in Midtown has less homeless issues maybe!? It used to be one of my favorite places in Humble-Atascocita-Kingwood area. I don't know what happened. Did they open too many places or cannot or don't want to afford good chefs? I ordered two appetizers for lunch. Shumai: tough meatballs inside wide opened pieces of dough. Aren't shumai supposed to be steamed, dough AND filling together? Result: dough precooked, filling tough, no taste, no flavor and completely dry. Chicken curry puffs: look good on the picture, filling is 99% mashed potatoes, peas and carrots. Again, no taste, no flavor and completely dry. Don't say 'curry' if there is no curry sauce. BTW, no smell or flavor of curry spice at all. All that said, the prices are through the roof. Our waitress who takes care of us every time is incredibly kind and accomodating - she let us try the yellow curry and it was very savoury (we are loyal to the red curry). Always excellent service. Nara Thai serves tasty, spicy Thai food in little old Humble. The spice is adjustable from mild to make you cry. The noodles seem homemade- soft with a bite. Everything is flavorful, made to order and served promptly. The dining area is colorful, clean and inviting. The only negative was the lack of more items under $12 on the lunch menu. It's a small negative because the quantities are generous and done expertly. I'm sorry I really wanted to like the food but it did not pass my desires or my family. I had the ginger beef and could not taste any ginger. It was rice with a piece of steak cut in slices and on top with a little bit of cabbage and carrots tossed on the side. Both carrots and cabbage looked old. Hubby and the pad Thai, he did not complain until the next day when the diarrhea hit him. Granddaughter has noodle soup with squid and SHE is a big soup eater but this one she complained about and did not eat it. The Thai dumplings that have cream cheese? And crab tasted like rubber with no flavor. Peanut sauce sweet and congealed. we also ordered a chicken teriyaki child plate and whatever it was was gross. I only recognized the white rice. Ok so the first Nara I tried was cypress and now I went to humble and ordered my fave Tom yum soup. The broth is yummy. But all in my soup was some chicken. 3 huge chunks of tomatoes and mushroom.. I ordered a large it was like thrown together I needed to cut everything down and then add my own onion and cilantro . Meh for 13$ Fried rice was good as always. I'd give them another try but maybe avoid soup on take out like that. I'll return though to sit in and order some other faves to see and update read more
