Food is delicious and the quality is there too. I highly recommend over most Thai restaurants that I've eaten

I'm sorry I really wanted to like the food but it did not pass my desires or my family. I had the ginger beef and could not taste any ginger. It was rice with a piece of steak cut in slices and on top with a little bit of cabbage and carrots tossed on the side. Both carrots and cabbage looked old. Hubby and the pad Thai, he did not complain until the next day when the diarrhea hit him. Granddaughter has noodle soup with squid and SHE is a big soup eater but this one she complained about and did not eat it. The Thai dumplings that have cream cheese? And crab tasted like rubber with no flavor. Peanut sauce sweet and congealed. we also ordered a chicken teriyaki child plate and whatever it was was gross. I only recognized the white rice. Sorry won't try this food again. Just thinking about it gets my tummy flipping. read more

Ok so the first Nara I tried was cypress and now I went to humble and ordered my fave Tom yum soup. The broth is yummy. But all in my soup was some chicken. 3 huge chunks of tomatoes and mushroom.. I ordered a large it was like thrown together I needed to cut everything down and then add my own onion and cilantro . Meh for 13$ Fried rice was good as always. I'd give them another try but maybe avoid soup on take out like that. I'll return though to sit in and order some other faves to see and update read more

Stopped by here when visiting Sam Houston a few days ago as it was recommended to us by a family member. We ordered Thai tea to start off with, and it's also bogo on Tuesdays! Luckily we came on a Tuesday haha. The Thai tea was massive, I had to ask for another cup to take home the rest. For our lunch, we ordered crab angel (crispy crab wontons), Tom yum seafood soup, and spicy catfish. The crab angels were decent, one of them had almost no filling inside... I feel like this appetizer would've been better with imitation crabmeat or just more crab meat in general. The Tom yum soup was probably one of my favorite dishes here. You can't really mess up when it comes to this soup. The soup had a variety of mushrooms, tomatoes, squid, mussel, and shrimp. Lastly, the spicy catfish! We really enjoyed the spicy catfish, I just think it would've been better if the catfish was crispier. The sauce for this dish was yummy, and the green beans complemented it well. read more

This makes me sad to say. Nara used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We used to go/order a few tines a week. Tonight's meal was one star. The chicken in my dinner was so overcooked that it could not be cut. The sauce was flavorless. The waiter never checked back and took 16 minutes after the dinner was finished. He was on his phone at the bar area, and only three tables were occupied. Makes me sad. read more

One of the best Thai food that I've had locally. The spices blend very well with the protein. Enjoyed a Thai beer with our meal the second time around. Delicious mango sticky rice! It's also beautiful- I wasn't a fan of the yellow curry - I feel like it was missing vegetables and didn't have much flavor depth. The poor man noodles are always tasty as long as they aren't spicy! I'm a wimp so when I saw the skull and crossbones for a heat level option I about cracked up! And the crab angels are some of the best I've had. And their Tractor sodas are good too! Non-GMO & organic! Terrible. I usually don't leave reviews but this place was bad. Waitress was at the bar talking to some guy instead of attending us. I asked for noodles in my soup twice because she forgot then another girl brings us the wrong noodles on the side (wasn't second girls fault at all, she actually took them off the bill). Soup was awful. Just look at the photo it's full of oil and I don't know what that is floating under there. My boyfriend's pad kee mao was cold as well. Really love this restaurant and have been coming for about fifteen years now. The pad Thai is my go to and I have been ordering it for years. One complaints is I wish there was a bit more consistency when different chefs are preparing the food. Sometime my pad Thai is so dry it has almost no flavor and the noodles stick together too much. Also I've gotten medium spice many times and sometimes it'll be not too spicy and others, like today, it's so spicy that it isn't enjoyable. I think the chefs need to all cook these recipes according to a standardized recipe and the spice levels should definitely be more consistent. My experience at this restaurant was bad, the food prices are high, the quality of service was so-so. The worst of all is that the bathrooms were completely dirty, as well as the floors. Food was good, service was very, very slow, Where are the owners??? 5-6 workers in the front of the restaurant, most looking at their phone, only one person with the title "Server" so therefore the others just stood around looking at their phone. I can handle heat so I thought I would try #3 spice level right above medium and oh my word, YIKES!!! , it was sooooooooo hot/spicy, it ruined my meal, but I ate it, Pineapple Shrimp Curry, can't wait to return to try the mild or medium to taste that great flavor, my stomach was boiling for hours. I will never try #3 spice level again and who in the world could try the #5 spice level, only a dead person, I can't imagine what that would taste like, maybe they just bring you the spice bowl to eat just the condensed peppers, because you aren't going to be able to taste the food at all. Well this was our second time coming to this restaurant, service was better the first time and our food was good both times but I had to try the spicier level, so done with that, next time back to mild medium and hopefully the owner or a manager that cares will be there to make sure that all of the workers stay off the phones, these new smart phones have ruined the world, just look around you everywhere you go and people are staring at their phones. First time eating here, and could be due to the COVID-19, but after reading all the great reviews, I was disappointed. I'll start with the good first. Green chicken curry - very good. I got medium spice and was perfect. Chicken pad thai - very good, again medium spice. Now the bad..... Orange chicken - same i would expect from a Chinese buffet. Wonton Soup - was ok Beef skewers - jerky is easier to chew. Fresh roll (fresh spring roll) - while i ordered shrimp they sent chicken (again very dry) and there was no mint or cilantro. Ambiance: 4/5 Nice quite ambiance inside the restaurant. The decorating is there but pretty sparse. I think it's smart they have paper table cloth so that it's easily replaceable but it takes away from the cloth tablecloth "feel." Not a big deal if they do it for a family that has small kids (so that crayons can be used to draw on it), but it'd be nice to not have it for an all adult group. Food: 4.5/5 The food never disappoints. I've tried countless dishes here (see pics), and there really isn't anything I'd say NOT to try. They are all so flavorful and authentic (speaking from having had Thai food with Thai friends at other places, such as New York City, that have amazing Thai food- so I have a pretty good standard to compare with). My favorite would have to be the larb gai, though. If you've never had it, it's a must try and staple of Thai cuisine. Service: 4/5 I really like the service. I think they are very respectful in that they do the Thai salutation (hands together near the head) and they are quite attentive. My only complaint is how clearly unhappy they are when using a coupon (that we got from restaurant.com). I think that takes away from the professionalism of the service. We finally found a great Thai restaurant without driving into Houston! We came here to celebrate my birthday a day late with family members. The place is stylish, very clean and well-appointed. The service was friendly and efficient. Impressed so far. We had Yellow Curry, Pad Thai, Pad See Mao, and pineapple fried rice. This Thai Food at the HIGHEST LOCAL Level in Atascocita (Humble), Texas. The Red Curry is awesome with freshness and consistency in taste. We have visited numerous of time and I find myself hanking for the DUCK added to my Red or Green Curry. Wine list a nice selection along with bottled beers. The kids appreciate the Sweet & Sour Chicken with noodles or rice. The tea is served in a large mason jar. Staff is polite and courteous all the time. Decent Thai food in the Northeast Houston/Lake Houston area. We had their vegetarian options- panang curry with tofu and pad thai with tofu. The Panang curry came with steamed rice and the curry only had carrots and tofu in it- I prefer my dishes to have many types of vegetables in it like Thai Gourmet's recipe. Generally speaking, this a a nice option for Thai Dine in. There aren't many Thai options in this area, so when we tried this place, we were satisfied. Would recommend medium spice levels, otherwise the food is not spicy at all. Ambience is nice- it's quiet and large for a Thai restaurant. Okay so a few thinks to say about Nara Thai. First, it was my first time ever trying pad Thai and I thought it was too sweet. Okay, now that we got the only bad part done with, let's continue. First of all, we were told by the employees that they are struggling to hire on new employees. That being said, I overheard that there were people waiting to get their to go orders for over an hour and a half.....SO if I can give you any advice....don't order to go during busy dinner hours....even DoorDash people were standing around forever. Since visiting that first time I go frequently since and order fresh rolls to go. I haven't had more than about a 5 minute wait, but take into consideration that I only order fresh rolls. We ordered the fresh rolls (pictured below) and they're the best spring rolls that I've found in our Houston area. Seriously so good. And the peanut sauce? To DIE for. My boyfriend got a chicken appetizer and it was really good!! He also got Thai tea and it was super yummy and sweet.
