My wife and I are Thai food connoisseurs, and having just moved to Long Beach, have been out trying all the places. We passed Naree before because a Thai food place that displays no Maneki-Niko or Buddha statues makes us doubt its authenticity. After a friend recommended the Pad Thai here, we decided to try it out. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but they absolutely nail Pad Thai and Chicken Panang Curry inside. The Thai tea isn't bad either. Writing this review after our second feast here. Might want to consider posting name of business on bright neon sign. Will be back. read more

Okay I'm telling you, some of the best customer service I've ever experienced lately. I ordered take out online and when I got there to pick it up, they were SLAMMED. Like a party of 16, 12, 8, multiple 2's and people at the bar. There were only two girls on the floor and an older gentleman running food. My food wasn't ready but they updated me with the status of my order like every 3 minutes and let me know that my food ticket was behind the largest party, but assured me they told the cook I was here and waiting. Got it out as quick as possible, handled all their tables and all with a smile and super nice. Anddddd they thoughtfully packaged my order and ventilated my egg rolls so they wouldn't get soggy. Ok so this is for my out of town friends who have had Thai food in other parts of the US or Thailand ie. have high Thai food standards. Ever since I moved to Long Beach, I am constantly disappointed by the low quality of food compared to other US cities. I have been to dozens of Thai spots in SoCal but none were so good that I would want to bring someone to or claim as authentic Thai food. HOWEVER, this Thai spot, Naree Thai, is THE spot, the restaurant that has revived my faith in Thai dining in SoCal. It serves excellent food w fresh high quality ingredients. My favorite is the crab fried rice (with 4 crab claws) and the duck lychee curry (eaten together). YUM. It's pricey but worth it for the quality. I should try other things but I honestly feel like I have found my go to. Eat here, you will not be disappointed. PS all the food I have purchased was to-go and perfect. There are a TON of Thai Restaurants in Long Beach and I've tried most of the ones in this area. But I've never bothered to leave a review until now. Naree is hands down the best of them. The lunch special are great, dinner is so yummy, and the atmosphere is romantic with its low lighting. Why do so many other Thai restaurants have such bright lighting? Are they doing brain surgery during their slow hours? Especially love the crispy duck salad and the Tom Kha soup. read more

I ordered a roasted pork fried rice (mild spicy) and chicken satay with utensils, through one of the popular food delivery apps. There were no utensils or condiments and the receipt said "no utensils" but I even added it onto the special instructions when I ordered. The roasted pork fried rice, the rice was dry and old, overcooked, bland, the pork was thinly sliced and reheated, and seemed like left overs from lunch, and the scallions were irregularly cut, some were chopped and some were sliced diagonally, again looking like left overs from somewhere else. The chicken satay was ok although the cuts were thick dry chicken breast so the flavor is only on the outside. I ordered from them before when I was in the area for another event but something was very off this time. It was a 5 pm order on a Saturday. I understand understaffing is a possibility but they're rated best overall in that other app, which would not allow me to rate the restaurant at the moment. I'm disappointed and I may have to recook this because I hate throwing food away. read more

The food is delicious and consistently good. Every time I eat here, I try something new. The Massaman curry is awesome! It's definitely a 4 star at this location. The rice is grainy and goes well with all sauces they serve here. This is one of the better places for Thai in Long Beach. read more

First time to Naree on 5/29/23 5:00-6:30pm. To start, I have to say that the food was delicious...we had Kang Pa curry with pork...and the Pad Thai with chicken...excellent. Full bar, clean and well laid out, felt completely comfortable. I see people complaining about the small portions but the portion size was fine for us because we don't overeat (we actually had Pad Thai to take home). Why the 3 review? While the food was great, the service was pretty substandard, at least the service given by our server. We were there over an hour and only once did she ask us how everything was, and for the most part was inattentive, not making eye contact while moving in around around the tables, to see if we may need something else, which we did. We had to virtually tackle her one time as she whisked by our table so we could order another drink. We did not ask for the check but she brought it after we asked for a container for the leftover Pad Thai. I guess I can see where she thought we were leaving (we weren't), but it would have been nice if she had asked if we wanted anything else (we did) before she brought the check. To add insult to injury, we had finished dinner and some drinks and had dirty plates and empty glasses and bottles cluttering up our small square table but as many times as she passed by she did not take any away. It's not like the restaurant was packed (it wasn't at all). Against my better judgement I left a nice tip, only because the food was great. The server not so much. We will be going back, but will not sit in 'her' section'. read more

This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in OC. They're super friendly and also fast. I ordered ahead online and picked it up. They have plastic barriers between the cash register and you and they wear masks. It feels very clean/safe. So far we've tried the Yellow Curry, Green Curry, Basil Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, and Mixed Vegetable Dish. Everything is delicious. Have been here many times. Food is always good. Today I had the eggplant with shrimp on the lunch special. It was very good but it seems like every time I have lunch here, the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Naree listen up, you food is EXCELLENT but your portions sucks. Today I could count the lettuce leaves on my salad!!! Even if you increase your prices, your guests and I, will be back. I have ordered food to go on a few occasions and dined in house since they first opened. Average tasting Thai food like 95% of all LA/OC Thai Restaurants catering to American palates. No wow factors or anything out of the ordinary on the menu. Unfortunately, they have reduced the Portion Size of the Rice for the Lunch Specials from previous. Staff said portion was same as before. Not True ! I did not want to argue with staff. I simply refused to pay Extra for more rice. Left premise w/o food and very disappointed customer. Nowadays, diners have more choices on where to go for a meal. Bad word-of-mouth spreads. A dissatisfied customer will tell more people about their unpleasant experience vs. a good experience. read more

After a 10km rollerblading ride along the beach i stopped by this restaurant i had seen last week and was tempted by. It was on the cooler side and a nice spicy hot bowl of curry is just what i needed. It was one of the most delicious pineapple shrimp curry i have ever had. We were in Long Beach and came across big sign board for Lunch and we decided to give a try. The food & portion of food was good. The only draw back was the working area was not very clean and due to that I fell on the floor noticed the floor was wet and some rice were on the floor. I hope they keep the cleanliness. read more

Amanda abs tried Naree today for Mother's Day! It was spectacular. We had the yellow curry - it was spot on. Also, the pad Thai which was some of the best I have ever had. Food was delicious I had the sweet and sour dish. I've had the yellow curry before which I was not too impressed with but today I tasted the red curry and I felt it had more flavor to it. The duck fried rice today actually looked like it had way more duck than all the other times I've been here. The service could've been better. When I asked for a bowl to share the curry she brought a plate and asked if it was okay! Bring the customer what they ask for. Server checked on us that once and then took a while to see her and ask for our check, brought us to go containers and didn't give us a bag or ask us for one. My server lacked some common sense today. Luckily the male server saw that we couldn't leave with the containers in our hand and asked if I wanted a bag. Came and checked out this place after a day at the beach and it did not disappoint. They currently have outdoor dining with heaters. The staff was very helpful, constantly checked in with us and made sure we were comfortable. Our family ordered the wontons with cheese, beef salad, beef jerky, pad see ew with tofu, lychee duck curry, crab friend rice, and the Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. The crab fried rice had four large claws filled with meat, so worth it! We thought we ordered too much, but when the food is that good, it's perfect! It's hard to pick a favorite, when they were all so delicious! We ended our meal with the mango sticky rice, also yummy! They have a ton of other options that looked good. 2.5 stars? I wouldn't come again unless they had a happy hour or something. It's one of those more expensive modern Thai food places. Pretty interior, clean, nice environment, but bathrooms, at least women's, were dark and super thin toilet paper. Couldn't tell if it was clean or not cuz it was so dark. As for food, got the spring rolls or whatever the fried ones are called, I think they were around 7$ for 4. They were okay, but have cilantro inside so if you don't like cilantro , don't eat it. Nearer special pad Thai is very different from traditional pad Thai, can't say that we liked it all that much. Instead of the usual thicket noodle, they used fen si (Chinese) instead or I think it's called Mung bean noodle in English? It's thin and clear and a little stretchy. A bunch of that mixed in with their sauce was wrapped in a giant egg pancake with shrimp and a random tidy. Crushed peanuts in one corner and sriracha blobs on the other. Really didn't like this...much prefer traditional pad Thai haha. But if it sounds like something you'd like by all means try! It's 15$ though just FYI. Got green curry with tofu. THIS was good. Good balanced curry flavors of coconut and spicy and whatever they use to make it. Thought it'd be fried tofu, but it was just normal tofu. Either way it was good!! That was 12$. So...it's not that cheap, but if you're on corporate credit card or are financially blessed, try it out =p read more

Enjoyed the yellow curry with chicken, sweet and sour dish with beef (very different but really good) and then decided on one more dish of green curry with chicken. All enjoyed on jasmine rice. So tasty!!!! We were pleasantly greeted and could sit anywhere. We chose to dine at the bar. Also cooled our spicy curry selections with two large Singha beers. You can order the spice level on the curry if spicy is not your favorite. Altogether great decor and very chill vibe. So happy to have this great little classy restaurant in downtown Long Beach!
