Staying at the Courtyard hotel, and stopped here for dinner with my sister. I ordered the Pad Thai and she ordered the Pineapple Curry. The restaurant was not very busy and we were greeted immediately when we walked in. Seating was open and we chose to sit at the bar. I also ordered the Spicy Thai alcoholic beverage, not too sweet and the glass rim was trimmed with sugar and Thai spices which really compliments the flavor. Food came quickly and was piping hot. I really liked the Pad Thai, medium spicy, not very "medium " by my taste, but still delicious. My sister enjoyed the curry, but it was not served with rice, which we found odd. She still enjoyed the dish as it was. Overall we had a nice experience and if you're in the area looking for Thai, this is a good choice. read more

This spot is amazing! I'm so happy I discovered their food, they never disappoint. I've eaten here twice now and each time is so nice. The service is amazing, the servers are all welcoming, warm, and kind. They never fail to check up on us to make sure everything's good. The food is outstanding! Been going to Naree for years and it's the LB downtown neighborhood's gem! Having been to Thailand, the food always reminds me of my travels. It's very authentic and the family that owns the restaurant is always so welcoming. Som and her sister always say hi to us even when we are not dining, but just walking our dogs by the restaurant. When we do dine, I often order the Tom Yum (lemongrass) soup and green papaya salad. My husband loves his massaman curry or the pineapple curry. But the Naree pad thai is the star of the menu for me! Wine list and cocktails are great too! Overall always have a great meal. During the pandemic we got beautiful handmade masks from Naree. They were custom made to order and got us through the lockdown! We love Naree and highly recommend both take out and dine-in! read more

Great Thai spot in DTLB. My husband and and I were looking to eat out this Friday night after work and walked over to Naree Thai. We started with wine and cocktails that were delicious. The interior was well done huge chandelier was so pretty. Our waitress recommended some top dishes and our entrees didn't disappoint. Ended with more cocktails and Hot sake. Prices were very reasonable and the quality of food was a 10. Indoor, outdoor, and bar seating available. Only recommendation would be to dim the lights and turn up the music a bit for a Friday night dinner. read more

Great food but needs improvement on service. Walked into the restaurant the person at the bar doesn't acknowledge you. Finally got seated, took a while before someone took the drink orders. There were tables after tables that were left dirty, and no one was cleaning them. The servers/bartenders at this restaurant doesn't seem happy. I say, "Thank you", doesn't even response and just walk away, and they are completely English-speaking workers. There are plenty of Thai restaurants in the area which also have great food and excellent service. I don't think I would recommend this establishment to any of my friends. read more

I don't have good Thai near home, so I always look for an opportunity when traveling. Naree was close to the convention center, and also had good Yelp reviews. Well deserved reviews. The spring rolls were excellent was was my curry. The cocktail was also good. Portions were great...I hated leaving anything, but I had no choice. Very happy with my lunch special Pad Kee Mao with tofu. The spice is just the right level the Thai ice tea is good as well. The only thing I wish the restaurant would have provided is chop sticks and some Thai chili. I was unaware what was in the stapled brown bag till I got home. I've been wanting to try this neighborhood spot for a while so disappointed I tried today. Got the beef broccoli lunch special set me back with tip around $15 not bad but not that cheap to get boiled meat. It takes no more then 5 minutes to stir fry and add some seasoning. Found this place on google and took my boyfriend here after both of us were craving thai food. Place is very chill with lo-fi music playing in the background. Very clean and nice. Our waitress was super nice and never kept us waiting! Ordered the Crab fried rice and it was EXCELLENT! read more

Last night I was perfectly fine and excited to buy thai food. I ordered ma noodles and angel wings. The angel wings was a little cold in the middle bit I thought it's fine ate it anyway. Very bad idea it was under cook and I paid the price. I have been on the toilet all night , and it was completely undigested food from this thai spot. My quest for reasonable lunch specials continues here and despite my pointless goals to stop eating pasta and rice, I ended up getting their $10 Pad See Ew lunch which came with both. Let me tell ya though, it did not disappoint. For $10 I got a small salad, scoop of rice, and fried tofu (though you can pick actual protein for no extra charge) to go in my noodles. You also get a drink, even thai tea, for no extra charge. The icing on the cake is despite it being full in there at lunch, I got my food pretty damn quick all things considered. 5 stars. read more

I was in town and just hungry, as always, one night. I was staying at a near by hotel so I wanted to be able to walk to something close by, have it be good and be on my merry way. As I searched through yelp and consulted my taste buds, it was between this and a fancy steak; I opted for Thai.... .....the place was nice on the inside because based on the outside, you'd think it was just an office building with windows, and not a restaurant. I was able to sit anywhere and did, and ordered the shrimp roll appetizer. For the main entrée I decided to get SCALLOP and chicken pad thai. I capitalized scallop, cause they were huge, and the taste was off the chain. I forgot to tell her the spice level that I wanted, but she brought over a small plate with different heat sauces and that corrected that quick. The servers were really nice as it seemed like a family ran business and they all waited on all the tables. It was Delicious! The vegetables were fried to perfection they were soft. The spring roll was flavorful and golden then there was some pad see won dish with thick noodles it was great as well. Love Naree Thai! Their lunch special is really good too! Their packaging is so conscientious in times of CoVID. Everything is isolated so it doesn't spill which I definitely appreciate. Naree Thai is hands down the BEST Thai food in California! I'm a fan of fried rice be it a famous restaurant or an unknown. The Thai fried rice here is so much better than every where else that it is astonishing. It's a combination of freshness, flavor and ingredients. There are so many delicious meals and choices on the menu here. The tangerine chicken is unbelievably good and also a favorite. We often find ourselves craving the food here and can't wait to have it again. read more

This place was delicious! Reasonably priced, (except the wings. Those were overpriced for what we got.) We got the yellow curry, which is my favorite. The only downside is, it does not come with rice. You buy that separate. We also got the steamed dim sum, which was yummy, and the pineapple chicken fried rice. All the dishes were good! My absolute favorite thai food restaurant! Full bar, they actually serve my favorite champagne. My favorite dishes are the triple flavor dish with chilean sea bass and the trout with mango sauce. Was going to give 3 starts, but the service was awesome. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and cleaned their plates. Ordered the pumpkin Curry for myself and it was good, but I had to buy rice separate, it is soup if there is nothing to put it over. We sat around and talked and they continued filling out water. They weren't packed but a lot of places will get irate with you and push you out. Made a comment too the waiter about the manager and he took it in stride and didn't question. Delicious late night spot, quick (and cost-effective) lunch place, or a group dinner out! They have an outside side patio, to set the mood nicely for singles, couples, or more; and nicely-spaced indoor seating. The lunch specials are a great deal and just enough that you won't feel dissatisfied and you won't be taking home a feed bag of leftovers. Tom Kha Kai (coconut chicken soup) is yummy and great with medium spice of you like that long burn. Noodle dishes (Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mow) are wonderful and filling--"medium" can taste like HOT to the uninitiated. Rice dishes are perfectly stir fried and include tons of fresh veggies and great meat choices (or tofu). Other stir fried options: meat/veggie + basil, meat/veggie + green bean (prik king), meat/veggie + whatever are smoky, umami, and rich with flavor and textures. Curries are phenomenal. Appetizers (egg rolls, spring rolls, tempura shrimp, crab rangoon, etc.) are a great starter too. You can't go wrong with Naree Thai! read more

This is a very bizarre place . My best friend and I went there on Sunday evening after I finished work. It was so quiet I felt like I was in a museum. All we could hear were the clinking of forks. We ordered two drinks which were so syrupy sweet, We had to ask them to add soda water. We love drinking everything so this was exceptionally unusual for us. They literally tasted like candy, It was disgusting. Although the drink menu was very diverse, both drinks tasted the same. There were other patrons in the restaurant, but no one was speaking. The staff had flat affects and extremely poor customer service. I have been to Thailand before and I honestly thought that this place was confused with a Thai massage center, it was so quiet aside from the piped in elevator music. I started having symptoms of a panic disorder while I was in there, and we had to leave. As we exited, we commented about how strange the environment was, how it felt like the twilight zone and we were so happy to have escaped. We had been there on one other occasion, the night there was some police activity in the area. We didn't notice how strange the environment was on that night, probably because the activity helped to lighten the mood in the restaurant. However, this was completely bizarre. The food is not bad. However, this restaurant will induce feelings of panic as it is so quiet it feels like a museum. If you want to dine in a museum, this is the place for you. However, I prefer to hear conversation and signs of human life. It was a very uncomfortable experience that I will not entertain again. read more

Of all the Thai restaurants in DTLB, this is my favorite. Their lunch specials are priced at $10, $11 & $15 and includes your choice of appetizer, rice and a drink. I usually order the ginger chicken, spicy basil chicken, spicy eggplant and tofu with rice and an iced green tea. I try to avoid the noodle dishes because the lunch specials comes with rice and that's just too much carbs :P The portions are decent and you won't feel overly stuffed but will leave satisfied. I've dined here a couple of times but I prefer to order online for pickup. The ordering process is super easy on Eat24, you select what you want and the time you want to pickup. What I love about this 'rona time is before some restaurants never allowed take out, they had their noses turned up and now they got no choice. Naree Thai has and will always be my favorite because they always allowed take out. Thanks very much. Nobody around except for the restaurant workers so I felt extremely safe. I ordered the Pad thai chicken lunch special - it comes with choice of drink, a salad and I think I had won tons or egg rolls. Anyways, it was about $13ish. Authentic Thai food at great prices. Ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken and shrimp, fried spring rolls, combination pad see ewe, Penang curry with pork, pork fried rice, mango sticky rice. The fried spring rolls were the perfect bite-size filled with veggies and the skin was Chris to perfection with a sweet and tangy dipping sauce. Next was the Tom Kha soup which was very coconut tasting and the meat was fresh. At first taste seem to be subtle but after you let the soup boil for a bit, the flavors seem to come out. A very rich coconut flavor with spices that take some time to come out. Next was the name Carrie with pork and the curry here is absolutely delicious. It really is authentic tasting. So what does the pad see ewe And you really can't go wrong with fried rice. Then we had the mango sticky rice which had perfectly ripen mangoes with mobile rice that was perfectly cooked with just the right amount of sweetness. For drinks we had the fresh coconut Juice which was really refreshing as well as the palm drink, which was a little too sweet and kind of tasted like vanilla I don't know if I would order that again. Was looking around for a local Thai place i could frequent, came across Naree on Yelp and thought the lunch deal was solid and decided to place a takeout order. Got the pad Thai lunch special with a salad and Thai tea. Pad Thai was decent, however clumped together despite me picking up the order fairly quick. To me a good marker of pad Thai's are how dry/wet it is, a good pad Thai should be glossed and slippery in their sauce and noodles should not be able to clump together. There wasn't much peanutty, tamarind flavor. It was hot and spicy, that's pretty much it. Barely any bean sprouts either. It didn't ruin my lunch but I wouldn't come back either. Thai tea was overwhelmingly sweet, couldn't drink it. Salad was a standard green romaine mix that looked crispy and fresh, until a found a hair at the bottom as I was moving it to mix in the sauce. Follicle and all... lost my appetite. This place has good prices and a good lunch deal, food is standard. Will be continuing my hunt for the best local Thai place in LB. read more

Portion sizes are smaller than average at this price point but the flavor is solid. Side of rice for your curry will cost extra. The soups are tiny for what you pay, and I'm a 5ft2 girl with smallish appetite... Tom yum soup flavor was average.. too much ginger. So I guess it really depends on how hungry you are and how much you're willing to spend to be satisfied. read more
