We were super impressed from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by both a server and the host, and seated right away. Had heard for a while now that this place was amazing, So we finally decided to see for ourselves. It's hard to believe they've been open for 13 years and we had never visited until now. We looked over the menu and decided on our orders, but after hearing the specials, we couldn't resist trying them. We started with bangers and sauerkraut and a stone fruit salad. For the main course, I opted for the beef stroganoff while my wife chose the pork schnitzel. Every dish was fantastic! And of course, we couldn't finish on such a high note without dessert. The dessert menu was too tempting to pass up and since our boys weren't with us, it was hard to just choose 1. So we ordered the apple strudel and soufflé. I'm so glad we did because they were absolutely delicious! It's been a long time since we've been to a restaurant where every dish was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Enjoyed dinner at Naschmarkt, this was our second visit. It's definitely becoming a go to spot for celebrations or just a nice dinner out! The ambiance is amazing, very clean and cozy. Such attentive and friendly service, John was our server during our first visit (12/07/24). You can tell he thoroughly enjoys working there, was very attentive, gave delicious recommendations and made a lasting first impression, as a face to the restaurant! Although John wasn't our server tonight (03/23/25), he still greeted us and had recognized us from our last visit. Amazing! The food is absolutely delicious, and I still think about that seasonal hot apple cider often. Best I've ever had! On 12/07 we ordered: Bratwurst, Homemade Pretzel, Jager Schnitzel, Appel Strudel, and Sacher Torte. Oh, what a wonderful meal! I was so impressed with the quality of food! All three of us were in food heaven after our meals. This a relatively small, but intimate eating area, with close access to the bar. This was our first visit to Naschmarkt, and we were pleasantly surprised. My wife shared a tasty salad with my daughter, who marveled at how good it tasted (she is not really a salad eater). I started with the sunchoke soup. The flavor was so incredibly rich - I nearly licked the bowl clean! Seriously, if I had nothing more to say, I would be satisfied with this soup alone, as it really warmed me up and went down oh, so smoothly. Delicious! The Jager Schnitzel which had a nice savory flavor, nicely balanced with the creamy mushroom sauce and the baby broccoli. The Kraut Rouladen just melted in my mouth with savoriness, nicely complimented with the roasted fingerling potatoes and kale. My daughter had the cheese pretzel. The pretzel was thick and chewy (but not in a bad way) and did not have that toughness that one may encounter with pretzels at the malls . Curious, however, was the hot melted cheese. With a traditional dining room and a contemporary ambiance, Naschmarkt brings modern European dishes with quality ingredients. The beer and wine selection was extensive, and the craft cocktails were very impressive. My mother enjoyed a Naschmarkt Classic while I tried the Milk Punch Negroni, both were excellent in taste and composition. As someone that doesn't eat pork, one might think Austrian/German cuisine would be fairly restrictive, however there were a few options that were very appealing to us. We collectively had the game hen, pan seared salmon, and the goulash. Everything was delicious, wonderfully cooked and great flavor. For dessert we enjoyed a lava cake which topped off our good night. Would highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice meal. My wife and I decided to try Naschmarkt for our 36 year anniversary dinner. Man-o-man, I'm glad we decided to try Naschmarkt! We had the pan seared scallops appetizer to share, and we both really enjoyed every bite. My wife chose the smoked chicken spatzle, and a side of Brussels sprouts for her meal. I opted for the daily special which was a well brined, bone-in double-thick cut pork chop served over a bed of sauerkraut, fingerling potatoes, and a sausage. For dessert we shared a warm apple strudel with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream! Everything was AMAZING! The ambiance was very comfortable and enjoyable. They have an enclosed patio with heaters, but you can get a table inside also, or choose to sit at the bar. The service was amazing, and very attentive. I must say, we will definitely be back to try more dishes! I can safely say my meal was the best pork chop I have ever had! Hungarian goulash Jager Schnitzel Beef stroganoff (monthly special) Kraut Rouladen Homemade pretzel (appetizer) Hungarian goulash is a must-get. Tender meat and the sauce complements the spatzle so well. Beef stroganoff - they said it was a special. We got it in February. If that's the special, i recommend getting for sure. Notes of sweetness in this savory dish. The meat wasn't as tender as the goulash, but the sauce is so amazing, I found myself just eating the spatzle part of the stroganoff. Kraut Rouladen I'm not sure why, but I was so-so on this the first time, but enjoyed it much more the second visit. Perhaps it's an acquired taste. I've walked by this place so many times while at the Campbell Farmers market and had it bookmarked for a long time and later this year I'll be going to Germany so I figured it was as good a time as any to finally come in and try it. I think I was envisioning something more like Ludwig's in Mountain View and this was definitely more upscale. My friend I went with was excited because we had seen in past reviews and in the photos that they have beef stroganoff but in looking more into it, it looked like a seasonal thing. I called the week before and asked if this was still on the menu and the man I spoke to said we can request it and they will make it since it a popular dish. We went in with the intention of asking as we told we could do and the server let us know we would have needed to make a reservation and request it in the reservation. That wasn't told to me when I called so I didn't make a reservation. The server was super nice tho and went to ask if the chef by chance had what was needed to make it and he returned saying they did but that we needed to get 2 orders for them to be able to make it which then had me wondering if we had made a reservation and requested it like he said would we still have had to place 2 orders of it: in any case that completely limited me to having to also get the beef stroganoff and they didn't have brawts as add ons so what I had picked out in my mind prior to coming after looking at the menu I couldn't get. We did get the pretzel with beer cheese as an appetizer and while it looked amazing, the pretzel was super dry and the beer cheese did very little to save it. The beef stroganoff came out in a gigantic portion so at least you get your money's worth. I've never had beef stroganoff before so I had nothing to compare it to, the chucks of beef were huge and plentiful and the sauce was creamy and I thought had a really great flavor. My friend whose favorite dish in the world is beef stroganoff (hence why I was ok ordering the second order so they could make it for us) said it tasted sweet and that that wasn't what it normally tasted like. I didn't really like that the wait staff kept asking if we were still working on our food repeatedly like they needed us to leave but didn't want to flat out kick us out. We forewent dessert to get out of their hair. Not sure how authentic this food was, I'll have to compare that to the real thing later this year but I wouldn't be in a rush to come back. read more

I came to this restaurant for a team dinner with coworkers and it was a great setting for this. It was my first time trying Viennese cuisine so it was a cool experience since the menu was quite unique from what I'm used to. To start with, we shared the Austrian Cold Cuts (similar to charcuterie) and the Homemade Pretzel. The Austrian Cold Cuts is supposed to be chef's choice. Although the spread was interesting and there was a lot of stuff on the plate, I had no idea what I was eating and it would have been nice to have it labeled or get a rundown from the waiter, I would probably just ask myself next time. The pretzel was so so delicious, that was the best item we ordered in my opinion and one of the best pretzels I've had before!! Before coming to the restaurant, I had accidentally looked at the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu and this is a type of restaurant where the two are pretty different and they don't offer anything on the lunch menu for dinner. There were a few items I really wanted to try from the lunch menu but then I was not sure what I wanted from the dinner menu when I realized I had to order from there! I was intrigued by the Wienerschnitzel since I had never tried one before, it was breaded, fried meat (I think it was beef but not fully sure). The Wienerschnitzel tasted great but I kind of wish it came with a savory sauce option instead of the cranberry like sauce it came with. It also came with a side of potato salad, which tasted a little odd -- I wish there were more side options. For dessert, we shared the gelato trio and the Salzburger Nockerl (vanilla soufflé with some other toppings). Both were tasty and not too heavy, but the Salzburger Nockerl was definitely one of the better desserts I've had lately -- the soufflé melts in your mouth and goes so well with the blueberry compote and the vanilla ice cream! The service was good, our waiter was friendly and knew the menu well when we had questions. The restaurant is located around the downtown Campbell area so parking can be tricky at times, but there's a lot of parking garages and street parking in the area. When we arrived at 6pm the restaurant was pretty busy already, so I highly recommend making a reservation. It's a cute and intimate place with some outdoor seating so it can feel pretty cozy. We ended up ordering the beet salad, jager schnitzel, double cooked pork belly, and the apple strudel and every dish was honestly solid and delicious. The surprise hits for us were the beet salad and the pork belly which were recommendations from our friendly waiter. Even though the beet salad was really simple, it had a lot of good flavors that made it a simple but delicious dish. The pork belly was well cooked with parts being crispy and parts being tender. The Social Vienna Located in Downtown Campbell and named after the largest open-air market in Vienna, Nascmarkt serves up the often ignored cuisines of Eastern Europe. Our waiter, Israel, was very charming, friendly, and knew the menu very well. *Huge selection of Austrian & European beers in the bottle, as well as some on-tap. They also have quite the selection of wines, if that's your thing. *Small dog-friendly outdoor patio *Reservations accepted thru OpenTable *Sun-dried tomato and eggplant soup was like eating a warm hug. It was so thick, warm, and full of great earthy flavors. This is what I want the next time it's cold, wet, and dreary outside. *Housemade Spätzle was delicious and the perfect accompaniment to the Goulash. For the uninitiated, Spätzle is an egg noodle that reminds me a lot of Mac & Cheese pasta, but richer and more buttery. The Meh: *Goulash had great flavor, and the beef was tender, but it was underseasoned and needed the salt to make it more harmonious. *Restaurant itself is quite small and cramped, albeit beautifully decorated. Came here with my friends last week for a birthday celebration. We made a reservation ahead of time, and our table was ready by the time we arrived. Luckily, we did because it was busy. It's a small restaurant with about a dz tables (2 & 4 seats) with bar seatings inside and some outdoor seatings. The lighting in the restaurant is pretty dark, and the fonts on the menu are very small, so it was hard to read the menu. We ordered the following: Appetizers 1. Scallops: The scallops tasted very fresh and fiem but a little bland for us. Also, we are not sure what the green stuff is. 2. Pretzels: It is delish! I prefer eating it with the cheese than the mustard as the mustard is sweet. 3. Sausage trio: Good dish, but I was unable to tell which sausage is which. I liked the spicy one the best but that's my preference because I like spicy food. The ref radish is a good combo of tart and sweetness to pair with the sausages as it's not overwhelming in flavor. -one is really firm texture and. The potatoes that came on the side are very good. Light in flavor with a nice hint of dill. It was not overcooked and had a nice firm texture to it. Entrees 1. Beef goulash: comes with noodles on the side. It's suggested that you mix the noodles with the goulash. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the beef was a little chewey. Overcooked? Also, there is some sweetness to the flavor. I am not a fan of sweetness in a savory plate. 2. Beef strovanosh: The dish was a little salty, but the beef was tender and soft. 3. Schnizels: It is nicely fried and moist. Perfect flavoring. Pairs very well with the jam that came with it. 4. NY Steak: Nicely cooked to medium rare and well flavored. No sauce is needed. Sides 1. Potatoes: Skin still on and nicely baked. But nothing special. 2. Grilled shishito peppers: Not spicy, but yummy. 3. Veggie: Good combo and grilled well. Mix of mushrooms, asparagus, green beans, and brocolli? However, the asparagus skin is a little tough, so I we had to spit it out. Desserts 1. Vanilla soufle: Different because I'm used to chocolate. It was very fluffy, not sweet but tasted very eggy. 2. Chocolate lava cake: Not sweet and has a slight bitter taste, just the way I like it. It came with a very small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The waiter was very attentive to our table, and he often checked in on us, specifically asking me how everything was. I wonder if it's because I was taking notes of what we were eating to write my Yelp review. I liked that the food was not all served at once as we were able to enjoy the dishes without having to scoffed the food down while it's warm. The appetizers came first, and then once we were done with appetizers, then our order was put in for the entrees following desserts after. Our drinks came pretty fast as we ordered for more. It is a quiet place, suitable for good table conversation. The food is very tasty. We started with drinks (A "Yuzu Know" cocktail for my wife ($17) and a beer (Augstiner "Edlestoff", $8) for me. Both were recommended by the waiter after inquiring about our beverage preferences. My wife wanted a sweet cocktail and hers was not quite sweet enough, so they remade it for her. A side Pretzel ($12) followed; it was accompanied by a delicious mustard. For the main course, my wife had the Kraut Rouladen ($38), which she said was delicious. Fantastic Austrian food in a classy but casual setting, with nice patio dining in a lovely neighborhood. I had lunch here and got the schnitzel sandwich, which was terrific. I'm used to breaded pork being a little chewy (like pork katsu at Japanese restaurants), but this schnitzel was really tender and juicy. The pickles and aioli added great flavor, and the pretzel bun had the perfect chewiness. The truffle fries (more like wedges) were great. Make sure to ask for bread while waiting for your order as well -- their bread is amazing, and comes with some of the best butter I've ever had. Service was exceedingly friendly. I had been eyeing this place for a while, and finally while biking down Campbell Ave around lunch time, I decided to give the place a try. I did not regret it. The spatzle with smoked chicken and mushrooms and asparagus was the best I've ever eaten. I know I'll be back even if it's just to have some of this heavenly spatzle The Wiener Schnitzel was quite decent, though I would say it's similar to what I've had in other places. But it didn't disappoint. Now the dessert was truly phenomenal, the berry compote nockerl was basically a German style souffle with berry puree and a side of ice cream. It was so good I'm looking forward to trying it again someday soon. I've been here a few times over the years and I'm surprised that I haven't written a review yet! Firstly, reservations are a must, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. Everything we've had here has been great, but here are some specifics. To start the night off, folks on our table had various libations. I should have taken better notes but there's the "Austrian Maultier" and the "Yuzu Know". The Maultier was a raspberry flavored (with real berries also) and was very refreshing. The "Yuzu Know" was also very good and had some great tang and sourness (so if you're not too keen on sour, you should probably skip this one). We tried not to fill ourselves up too much so we just ordered one appetizer, the pretzel. It was warm and was delicious with the beer-cheese sauce and bacon bits. I could have easily had that by myself but I'm glad I didn't! On special for the evening was a pork goulash. There were lots of great chunks of tender pork sitting in all of it's stewy greatness! It was delicious and we had to ask for more bread to soak it all up. The classic weiner schnitzel was cooked to perfection. A good portion of pounded veal which was breaded and fried but not at all oily. It was accompanied by Austrian potato salad. Service at Naschmarkt is always great. We were greeted with a friendly smile, our waiter was terrific, and the folks bussing the tables are efficient. This is definitely a great place to go to for an all around good meal. read more

I have been to Naschmarkt several times over the last 3 years. I generally order the goulash because I love the dish and you can't find it anywhere else. I admit the last time I was there it was a long time ago but the quality has gone down substantially. The goulash was mediocre at best. The meat was hard like a rock and the sauce was more a light tomato sauce (ketchup consistency) than paprika goulash jus. We also ordered two glasses of wine that were maybe 4 onces, if that. On top of that we waited 40 min for our food, with the restaurant more than half empty. It may be a change of ownership or cutting costs but not worth the money anymore. read more
