Wow! We went here for our anniversary dinner. It was fantastic. I ordered the jager schnitzel and my husband had Hungarian goulash. Both were delicious and came with spatzel. The portions are large, two meals for me. Service was great. This is a great spot for a special meal!

As yelp puts it, 2 stars, definitely could've been better. 2 of us ordered: 16 oz hazy ipa $13, pricing doesn't match menu scallops $28 paprikawurst $17 goat cheese purse salad $16 tagliatelle pasta $34 NY steak $52 Staff attentiveness was good to start...but as it got busy, almost non existent. Scallops and paprikawurst were good. Everything else needed work. Steak was overcooked which was unfortunate. Also, 3% surcharge for credit card in this day and age is a bit foul. Street parking only.

When I arrived for my friend's birthday, there wasn't a reservation but thankfully since we showed up right when they opened, they accommodated and made us feel comfortable! Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere was inviting with soft lighting. We all ordered the Jager Schnitzel, it was creamy and delicioussss! That came with Spatzel which is basically like a buttery pasta. Both parts of the dish could have used a touch of salt but still highly recommend. The soufflé was fluffy and had a nice addition of a blueberry compote underneath like a little surprise when you go to scoop. The ice cream tied it all together nicely. Will definitely be going back again! *All written while thinking about the delicious mocktail I sipped on

Absolutely delicious - already planning my next trip! Nashmarkt presents itself as a semi-upscale Austrian food establishment, located in downtown Campbell. We came on a Sunday for lunch, and it was relatively empty, so we were seated quickly. We ordered: - sausage trio (smoked pork, spicy paprika, sausage of the day) - wiener schnitzel - beef goulash - spatzle with smoked chicken - (complimentary) bread that they will only give you upon request The food came out pretty quickly, and the portion sizes were great! Most if not all dishes also came with a side of potato salad or spatzle (pasta), so there was plenty of food to go around. All items were a hit - would order again for sure! The sausage trio was a perfect snappy texture and bursting with flavor! The spicy paprika was unreal! All were smoky and savory, and the sweetness and slight tang of the sauerkraut was a great addition. The schnitzel was pounded very thin, with a crunchy layer of breading. I didn't expect the lingonberry sauce to be as good as it was, but it was tarty and helped balance the oil from the fried meat. The beef goulash was hearty and comforting, rich in beef flavor. It was seasoned well with a slight spice. The perfect bite was a spoonful of the thick stew, tender beef, and al dente pasta. Lastly, the smoked chicken had a perfect char and was tender and juicy once you cut in. And the potato salad was a perfect palate cleanser when switching between each dish. I'm ready to come back!

We sat on the patio and it was the perfect evening. Service was very attentive, and food came out quickly. Portions were very large. We ordered the pretzel, sturgeon, beet salad, and Jager Schnitzel. Too full for dessert. The Fig Old-fashioned was delicious.

We were suspicious when we were seated directly behind the host stand but as we reserved on a busy Saturday night at a prime seating time we didn't balk. However, what we didn't realize was we had the best seats in the house . We received excellent service from our server and even the manager whom I had I breif chat with on my way in. We are extremely familiar with this cuisine style having traveled to Austria/Hungary many times to visit family, so had high hopes for our experience here. Naschmarkt did not disappoint. Every single item we had was excellent. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the quality of the meal truly made our night that much more special for us. We were even treated to some lovely sorbet after our meal to celebrate. If German / Austrian is your bag, this spot is a must.

Good service, nice ambiance. As an appetizer we tried the paprikawurst, it tasted like a sausage. I wouldn't order it again. My father ordered the salmon and I tried a little of it, it was very good. I had the Hungarian Beef Goulash and it was alright. My only point of reference is goulash I ate in Vienna and Budapest, and this missed the mark compared to those meals. I would order the salmon again, I would not order the goulash again. I'm also a big fan of spatzle but I felt the spatzle here was just slightly above average. I likely wouldn't order it again. I also shared the apple strudel and it was delicious and decadent. I'd eat it again. Overall, I'm not sure I'd come back here. I think at this price point there are superior restaurants.

Austrian food in Downtown Campbell. Great good & ambiance. The local delights like Schnitzels, Sausages r top notch. Spring rolls & Salmon were well done & tasty. Mocktails are fun. Service was quick. Nice detour for foodies.

Been wanting to eat German food recently so I came here for my birthday dinner with a group on a Sunday evening. You could do reservations via Yelp but they didn't have the time I want, so I ended up calling the restaurant and the staff made a reservation for me. Overall an easy process. The restaurant is located in downtown Campbell, so you either have to find parking on the streets or in the parking garage on 2nd St, and on Sunday evening, there were quite a few spots on the street. The restaurant is quite small, but cozy. They also have outdoor seating. We got seated a few minutes before our reservation and they immediately brought out waters and bread with butter. The bread was still nice and warm. I ordered the cabbage rolls and the blackberry alcoholic drink (forgot the names). The food took a bit to come out but it was worth the wait! Everything was delicious and well presented. My fiancé ordered the pork schnitzel with the mushroom sauce, but they ran out of pork and offered to make it with veal instead. The portion sizes are quite large, so we ended up taking leftovers home. We also got desserts and I ordered the sachertorte. It was not too sweet considering it was made with apricots, but a bit on the dry side. I'd definitely come back here to try the other dishes! It is on the pricier side (although the portions are large!), so probably only for special occasions.

So I was craving schnitzel and the last time I had any was in Germany. A quick search on yelp and I found Austrian Naschmarkt! I booked a lunch reservation and went to see what this place was all about! I ordered a glass of Austrian wine, because, well it's an Austrian restaurant! The wine was good and flavourful. We also ordered the tomato/eggplant soup which was creamy and served in a very elegant way. We also ordered and tried the fresh mulberry soda, which was tart, yet refreshing! When it came to food, I was getting schnitzel! When I asked our server which is better, the dinner plate or sandwich, he immediately responded with sandwich! So it was settled. The schnitzel sandwich came out in a fresh pretzel bread bun, took a bite which was flavourful and delicious! The potato wedges it came with were just enough and very hot/crispy. The sauce which comes with the wedges and sandwich is very creamy and yummy! The space was very upscale, yet casual and comfy. This place is perfect for a date, lunch with friends or family with seating inside and out on patio, which is heated and covered. Our host/server was very attentive and nice. He made sure we had everything to our liking and continued checking in on our dining experience. The price was reasonable for what you get and quality of food! I did go to the downtown Campbell location, which has metered street parking or a 2 hour free parking lot nearby. Definitely a place I'll go again for a taste of Europe!

This restaurant is very impressive. It's cozy interior and waiters are all friendly and genuine. My waiter of the night; he knows very well about menu and wines. I had spicy sausage with sauerkraut. It's excellent. I also had steak. Steak cooks perfectly but potatoes were a little on a salty side. I had one Austrian Moscow Mule cocktail (very nice similar to Moscow Mule).

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it over! The drinks: 10/10 and affordable compared to nearby cocktail bars. I'd go here for drinks alone! Appy: SPÄTZLE WITH SMOKED CHICKEN - the pasta was soft and perfect, the chicken was Smokey salty and melted in your mouth, the corn and peas added a sweet crunch. I will be dreaming of this dish Entrees: CLASSIC WIENER SCHNITZEL PORK - crispy and the saltiness paired perfectly with the side of lingonberry sauce. Our server was kind enough to bring another cup of sauce as we could not get enough! PAN SEARED SALMON - This might be the best salmon I've ever had? Not too fishy and cooked perfectly. Slight crunch on the edges and melty in the middle. Paired exceptionally with the parsnip puree and blood orange reduction sauce Dessert: SACHER TORTE This one is tricky. The flavor was good. An interesting mix of chocolate apricot flavors. The cake was dry but upon a quick Google search the Austrian SACHER TORTE is meant to be a dry cake. So not loosing any stars here but will definitely be going with a different dessert next time. Service: 10/10 our water cups were never empty and they did a great job consistently checking in without being overbearing. The damage: $158.02 not including tip I personally cannot wait to go back! Thanks Naschmarkt :)

    Is the goulash gluten-free?

Yeah goulash is gluten free only the side Spatzle not gluten free we can modify it with other sides for you

    Are Dogs allowed?

    Yes but Only at Patio.

Does the beef goulash still come with spätzle?

Yes Sir, It’s still being served with house made Spatzle Thanks

Hi! Do they serve Salzburger Nockerl for dessert at lunch? Also is the Beef Stroganoff no longer on the menu? Thank you!

When I ordered beef stroganoff in February, I got the impression it was a monthly special. I had been there in Jan and it was a double pork chop. I dont know what the rotation is. Hopefully beef stroganoff will return soon

    What about dairy free options?

    Yes there are some options

Is the lunch menu the same as the dinner menu?

No, they have different menus for lunch and dinner. There are a couple overlapping items, but the two menus are quite different for the most part.

    Are there any non-meat options?

Yes, our chef is really good at creating vegan or vegetarian dishes upon request

Does anyone know what is the largest number of people they take for a reservation? I know it's a small restaurant.

They take reservations for 4 online, 5 and above you need to call the restaurant.

Does anyone know if they sell gift cards? Thinking of stopping in to grab one for an engagement gift but I am from out of the area so want to make sure thats an option.

Yes, they do have gift certificates! I got one for the holiday season last year and just used it last month! It was a tasty meal!

I had already bookmarked this Austrian spot on my watchlist, and Mom readily agreed to go here after seeing their menu and Yelp photos of their SALZBURGER NOCKERL. NASCHMARKT Palo Alto is one of the trio of Austrian restaurants "coined after the largest open-air market in Vienna." Located off of bustling California Avenue, the eatery is on the quiet side of Birch Street, conveniently located across the street from a public parking lot. The venue includes distinct dining areas, offering both indoor and outdoor patio dining, along with a full bar and counter seating. The interior features a warm, cozy, yet refined European bistro feel. According to their website, NASCHMARKT "offers a unique culinary experience infusing California's flavors with Austrian kitchen delectability." They feature classic items like HOMEMADE PRETZEL ($16), SMOKED PORK BRATWURST ($17), CLASSIC WIENER SCHNITZEL (Pork Cutlet $36, Chicken Cutlet$36, Veal Cutlet $46), HUNGARIAN BEEF GOULASH ($44), alongside desserts like APPLE STRUDEL ($16) and SACHER TORTE ($16). Below are what we ordered for dinner: WATERMELON VELVET ($20) - Mom enjoyed this sophisticated, refreshing cocktail that blends muddled watermelon with a smooth, complex finish and egg white foam topping. GOAT CHEESE PURSE SALAD ($16) - A warm, creamy goat cheese-stuffed pastry "purse" set atop fresh mixed baby greens made for great presentation. The touch of rosemary, drizzle of honey, and savoury balsamic vinegar reduction combined well as flavour accents and with the added textures from the poached apples and crunch from the walnuts. BEET SALAD ($18) - This was a refreshing starter featuring a blend of fresh greens, fruit, pistachios, and goat cheese. It was the preferred salad of the two that we ordered. CLASSIC WIENER SCHNITZEL Pork Cutlet ($36) - This was Mom's order. She substituted the Austrian potato salad with Seasonal Vegetables. Pounded remarkably thin, coated in fine breadcrumbs and pan-fried to a brilliantly golden, exceptionally crispy crust, the tender pork cutlet was light and delicate rather than heavy or greasy. The accompanying lingonberry sauce offered a tart and sweet fruit contrast to the savoury pork. DELISH!! JAGER SCHNITZEL ($40) - Because I'm a saucy girl, I went with this schnitzel with the mushroom cream sauce and it did not disappoint. BEST jager schnitzel and YUMMIEST spätzle that I ever had...and that says A LOT because before this day, I was not a fan of the egg pasta dish. The lingonberry sauce with this schnitzel was also very good! Next time (yes, I will return!), I will ask if I can have the schnitzel crusted and fried like the classic version to enjoy with the delectable mushroom and lingonberry sauces - ooh, yeahhhhhh!! SALZBURGER NOCKERL ($16) - Mom got her soufflé craving satisfied from this fluffy, cloud-like vanilla egg-white baked dessert. The light, airy, and ethereal soufflé, sitting atop a sweet-tart blueberry compote, rose high to a delicate, golden exterior and a meltingly soft interior. We replaced the vanilla bean ice cream with the light and refreshing strawberry sorbet. This was an A++ dish!! Nehir, affectionately also known as Mia, was our superb waitress. She was extremely friendly, informative, and super accommodating - all of our special requests were happily granted with a warm smile. After learning that we were celebrating Mom's wonderful health report, Nehir/Mia served one of our two orders of SALZBURGER NOCKERL on the house. Such a sweetheart she was. We appreciated her so much that we gave her tight hugs before we left. What an amazing first impression we had from our most enjoyable and unforgettable dining experience at NASCHMARKT Palo Alto. I highly recommend this place and can't wait for my next visit!!

We were seated promptly, but it took a while for someone to come by and explain the menu to us. Our waiter was very nice, but rarely seen. When our cocktails came, one drink was spilled onto the table, and then another drink flat out fell onto the table, broken glass and all. The person serving us those drinks tried to clean up the table, and that was it. I had to speak up loudly and suggest that we move to another table. That waiter left, and another person came by and I once again stated that we needed to move to a different table. It was almost as if they didn't know what to do at that point and I certainly did not want to stay at the table where we couldn't even see where the broken glass were. We ended up moving to another table, but the service remained the same. And then the food, we opted for the tasting menu. The salads were generous in size, and the cheese fondue was also good. What I wasn't expecting was having to cook/grill our own proteins. It gave KBBQ vibes, minus the flavors. We had several sauces, but the best one was the table salt already on the table. I would give it two stars at best, but the extra star for the dessert experience.
