My 1st visit was Friday around 1130am. I ordered two cheeseburgers with fries entrees, plus one chili bowl with extra American Cheese. For this order it took over 40 minutes, waiting inside for my takeout order. Other's received their order before I received mine even though they arrived after I had placed my order. Let me just preface this review by saying I am most definitely a pie person. Out of all desserts pie is my favorite. I love pie so much it was the main dessert in my wedding. With that being said, whenever I go to Nation's I ALWAYS order pie. Banana cream pie is a must try. It's my absolute favorite pie to order here at Nation's. (It's one of the pies I bought for my wedding) The slices of banana mixed with the pudding and topped with cream are the perfect bite. I know Nation's pies are pretty popular, but they were just alright for me. It was a bit expensive for what it was. Pumpkin Cheesecake: It was pretty thick, and didn't have a smooth, creamy consistency of a typical cheesecake. The flavor was nice, but the texture was off. Lemon Meringue: Light, fluffy, and tart. It had good flavor, but nothing amazing. Banana Creme: This was probably the better of the three. I liked the soft, fluffy texture. It was good, but pretty average. read more

I'm so glad they still have a Nation's in Fremont. It is so much closer than having to drive to Hayward or San Leandro. It's convenient to pick up a whole pie or cheesecake for events, potlucks, etc. Their desserts are delicious. Are there better places? Sure, but you can't beat the quality or the value. Saw a friend's post about this place and figured to check it out on yelp. I was told that there used to be more branches open years ago but now the nearest one is at Fremont. There burgers are big ( they did say giant burgers) and they also have breakfast menus to choose from but the high light would be the pie. I am not a pie person. I am one of those people who question those diner scenes in movies where the main character would order pie in a diner. I just never saw the point.. until I tried one myself here. I have been to Ikeda's who also served pies but this for me is WAY WAY better. We came here on a Sunday after church because the streets have less traffic. Drove to Fremont and found parking in the plaza. The place isn't so big but they were a good number of customers dinning in. They do have tables outside too which was nice as it was sunny that day. We ordered their burgers with fries and onion rings and thought of ordering pies to go after finishing our meal. The burgers are big and packed with veggies which I liked. I got the one with cheese and it was tasty. The fries are ok but the onion rings are the bomb. It was crispy and flavorful, a delight to the last bite. The onion rings are served with its own sauce but I enjoyed old fashion ketchup with it. It was big that it took me a while to finish my burger alone. To my utter surprise, the kiddo finished her food but we cant finish the fries and rings. Now we had to decide what to get for pies. Everything looked so good but our aim is the banana creme pie. It is a goddamn must!!! I swear to you you will call out someone's name in vain when u take a bite of this one. The fruit and pie is so fresh when u take the slice the bananas are still white. So we got that and an after thought of custard pie. I wasnt feeling the berry kinds but will try them out next time. Good thing about this is you can get a slice or do half and half if u dont want to get the whole thing. It's about $15+tax for the whole. About$10 for half the slice. No regrets here. Love nations since I was in high school. I took my boyfriend here since he's not from the area. I asked him to rate his burger fast food joints in order and this beat most. Two egger with choice of sausage or bacon and their hash browns is always crispy. Enjoyed another delicious meal at Nation's the other day. Finding a parking space was a bit of a challenge on this trip, since there were a lot of cars at the Chick-fil-A next door, along with cars at the Wells Fargo as well. We found a parking space not too far away and noticed Nation's was fairly busy too. My wife, son and I enjoyed our cheeseburgers and we ordered two fries too. I usually ask for no tomatoes on my burgers, since I'm not a fan of them raw. However, I really like the size of the onion and amount of lettuce they add. Sometimes their onions have quite a bit of bite to them, but I enjoy them regardless. They do sometimes put a bit too much Mayo, but I'm fine with it. I like that they have hot sauce in bottles, to help kick-up my ketchup to enjoy with my fries. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant is clean. I decided against enjoying a slice of pie and even decided not to take some to-go. That's rare, but we were quite full from lunch. read more

We get coupons for Nations once in a while with a BOGO deal and generally I would pick up a couple pie slices after work in San Ramon, but recently we've been using our coupons at the Fremont location. The first time we tried going, we didn't realize they closed down the original location near Fremont Hub which was a special spot for us. Now it's located in the little plaza off of Mowry next to the Chick-fil-a. The location isn't huge but I've never seen this place packed to the brim which is probably why they switched locations. Recently we went during the COVID-19 pandemic and so only to-go orders were available. The bathrooms were only for staff and blocked areas with a narrow strip right in front of the kitchen to pick up orders and a small area in front of the soda machine to stand. This isn't great considering we're supposed to be 6 feet apart. At one point there were 4 parties who ordered and it was rough trying to stand inside and keeping distance. COVID aside, food is cooked to order which is nice but this does take some time and the pies are always a nostalgic presence and quick to get as they're already ready to go. We always gravitate to the banana cream. The other pies are okay, but that banana cream is so easy to eat. Good thing we don't get a full pie! Too bad we don't have more dedicated pie places, but it's a nice option to have and not too shabby with the burger. No nonsense along with their breakfast options. Again we only go when we have a coupon, so maybe that says something? read more

I've heard about this place for over 10 years about their pies, but I never got to actually try it until now. I wanted to order some for Thanksgiving this year (we are not a pumpkin pie family) so I decided to put some pies on pre-order ahead of time for pick up before Thanksgiving. I was an idiot and I put down the wrong date for the order. I decided to visit on my pick up order day and ask if I could pick it up then rather than the wrong date I put down. And this is a big reason why they get 5 stars. They obliged my request and was able to get all three of the pies I ordered. For great and amazing service five stars all the way. As for the pies they too were amazing. You can never go wrong with banana cream pie. Their cheesecake pie was so good also, I think out of the three it was my favorite. Apple pie was also good, but nothing crazy about it, but heat it up a little and combine with ice cream and you have a killer combo. If they ever do key lime pie it's game over. read more

This is one of the best Nations I've been to. We left SAP center after seeing a concert and wanted a late dinner, what else but a juicy Nations cheeseburger! Stopped at the Fremont CA location as it's right off the freeway 880. We met the nicest sweetest ladies we've ever met at a Nations or any other restaurant, lately. We were greeted when we walked in with a welcome to Nations and received perfect food. Then upon leaving we were thanked and told to have a good evening. WOW, impressed. It's hard to find grateful people in the business, some or actually more than ever are depressed about their place of employment, these ladies were grateful. Nice! We appreciate their attitude and will make this our new Nations for a meal. We also like the staff at the Pleasanton CA location, however, the only two drawbacks for us is that they don't have a public restroom and it's too small, feels uncomfortable, but they fix the food perfectly. Nation's is one of the oldest burger place I visit and hope they continue to stay in business. Thank you Fremont CA Nations on Mowry, you're #1 in our book. And, I'd like to add, it's the CLEANEST Nations we've been. There was a guy that worked there, can't forget him, he was cleaning the glass doors and bathrooms, I've never seen such a clean place, bravo! read more

Nations has always been hit or miss... But this is ridiculous, recently (I guess) they shrunk the size of the hamburgers. My husband and father have loved these burgers forever... Imagine my surprise when the last visit they got tiny burgers that were mostly lettuce & onions and burnt french fries. Such a disappointment! People have started eating inside here again. Will this disappointing takeout keep us from going back? I highly doubt it. My father loves those pies and won't remember this terrible burger... I will though. I wanted to support this small business so I dropped by around 12:45. It was not busy. Plenty of seating and the area is clean. The food is ok. $30 + for 2 entries and a drink 1st order- Fries were cold. They took my cold fries and re fried them and they were still not hot like you would expect. They were not crispy on the outside for sure. Cheeseburger was also not warm. Too much mayo too. I basically threw away my meal. I was really disappointed as I could have gone to Denny's and gotten a way better experience. My daughter order the double breakfast and she was also not happy. 2nd order - Hash browns had a strange oil taste. She did like the white toast and the bacon. Ketchup was out at the main station so we asked for packages. The soda fountain drink was perfect. Crisp and carbonated. I probably won't go here again. It gave me a really bad taste after eating. I recommend if you are in a party of two or more to order your food separately, if you like your food hot. This may help with the temperature issue. Otherwise the food is ok. Denny's and Black Bear dinner have higher standards for a reasonable cost. read more

We have been coming to Nations since 1970, and to this location since its opening. My dad ( Air-force Korean Veteran) 90 yrs and mom 86 love Nations burgers and Pies. I bring my dad for breakfast every other week after his Kaiser weekly injection appt . My dad loves his Nations breakfast and looks forward to it. We always ask for bacon and sourdough toast xtr crisp and egg yolk runny, because it hard w his dentures to chew much soft toast or bacon. Today I ordered for Poached eggs they came back cooked solid, bacon was soft n toast white, soft n fully soaked w butter. My dad said I cant eat this , so I went back to counter let them know I'm so sorry to bug you but my dad is 90 and he needs this crisper to be able to eat-I asked for spoon n bowl, requested them to please make this bacon, and toast crispier soft eggs. Ofelia the " manager" fixed it but was clearly unhappy about having to correct. The last 2 times I have gone to pick up the food, there were missed items. When I went to explain what was missing they didn't trust me and had to look through all of the bags. Nations has been a Fremont staple for a very long time. It used to be located in an old school building back in the day off of Fremont blvd. They now moved and updated the joint off of Mowry. I always stop by when i want a nice cheeseburger or some late night breakfast. Nonetheless, we went here the other night and ordered the bacon cheese burger. The burger is always on point and cooked to perfection. My down fall about it is that they put to many condiments on it. Half a berg of lettuce, half an onion , to much Mayo sometimes. We haven't tried them all, but our favorites are their pumpkin, chocolate cream, and banana cream pies. My favorite burger in the Bay Area. Hands down. Not sure if it's the Miracle Whip they slather on the burger in place of Mayo which adds a tangy note to an otherwise standard cheeseburger; or the head of lettuce and whole onion they insist on putting on each burger which makes it comically too large to fit in your mouth...but it's these quirks I love and make Nation's Nation's. Go-to's: classic cheeseburger and fries. I don't like to doctor them up with bacon or chili cheese often, cuz they stand up on their own so well. Pro tip: Order light tomato, onion, and lettuce to save yourself the trouble of picking most of it out (unless that's your thing). I came here on Thanksgiving day and they were extremely busy! Everybody was lining up to pick up or order pies to take home. The service here is prompt and organized though so it wasn't a long wait. Their banana cream pies are their best sellers, but the apple is good too. They also have pumpkin, pumpkin cheesecake, cheesecake, cherry during December, and other flavors too. You can order half or whole pies and slices too. The banana cream pie is super light and fluffy with a soft base/crust. Be careful because it falls apart if you don't cut it with caution!
