For dinner tonight, we went to Nations giant hamburgers in Benicia. We used their coupon, so our dinner was a bargain. The bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions and all their toppings was delicious. Fries were plentiful. The cashier who took our order over the phone, and our payment in person, was very pleasant and helpful. They are open on Thanksgiving, prepared to sell hella pies. So ya'll want some pie, Nation's is your place. Food is decent. Service is good. There's indoor seating only and ample parking. The last time I was there, we ordered a breakfast burrito, chicken sandwich, and a slice of custard pie. Food is decent, nothing over the top for me. Let's start with the pies here, since I was a child I've been coming here and get the banana cream pie. I Feel like this is the closest to a homemade pie you're gonna get. The burgers used to be the jam, but I feel overtime they have declined a tad. I definitely sub the miracle whip for mayonnaise, whenever getting a burger. Nations Giants Hamburgers has been a mainstay for quite some time, and a viable option given the limited diner selection in Benicia. The burgers are above average and the ingredients tend to elevate the overall experience (especially the bacon, they do that well). To be honest, I've probably had breakfast at this location twice as often as I've had their burgers and fries; and the breakfast hits. The service is pretty good and the dining area is clean. First time ordering from Nations. Hash brown portion on the small side, but worse, we ordered a salmon burger and they sent us a hamburger which is inexcusable as the person it was for couldn't eat it. I'm also going to review their packaging for delivery: We had ordered pancakes (which were fine) but they put the pats of butter in a napkin in the same bag next to the HOT pancakes. By the time it was delivered, all 3 pats of butter had melted and everything in the bag was covered in butter. And kind of gross was the fact the boxes that the food were in were dirty - as in - it looks as though they'd been boxed by someone with food on their hands. My husband and I would frequently dine at this Nation's location when I was still pregnant with our daughter. The restaurant isn't very spacious and has limited seating, so most patrons take their food to-go. If you do dine in, just expect to be very cozy with strangers sitting near by. This location used to be great the last few times my family and I visited--we even go out of our way to come here. What happened?! The burgers were slathered with an excessive amount of mayo--way too much. The burger patties didn't taste fresh at all, and the fries were served cold. Even the cheesecake was warm... what the heck? Audrey was calm and professional under pressure Friday, August 22, 2025, at 4:53 p.m. There were 12 orders, including three of my own that she and her coworker ( yes, ONE other person!) was preparing. I was waiting patiently along with a line of what appeared to be Door Dash delivery staff. Normally, there are 5 cooks on site, so perhaps someone was out sick and that's why they were short handed on a Friday. Dessert on a cold night. A slice of cheesecake and banana cream pie. I wanted to mix chocolate pie with banana before I arrived but the cheesecake looked good once I got there. Service was fast...not welcoming, but fast and to the point. Lol I didn't know that they did away with the 1/8th or small slice. Now, two slices were close to $20 however it was dessert for 2 days for me and my husband and the banana was a WINNER.THE cheesecake was mediocre. I went to Nation's for the first time in about a year or so as I no longer live in Benicia. I have always enjoyed their burgers and pie, and have a bit of nostalgia about them. The cashier was definitely felt not the service with a smile or warm welcome type lol but that's ok, she got our order right. We ordered 3 cheeseburgers, fries, onion rings and chili cheese fries. The prices have gotten exorbitant, almost $60 for the 3 burgers and 3 sides with no drinks or pie. Ownership should really rethink their pricing especially with the quality/taste of the food having slumped a bit. The burgers were all good and filling but the beef patty itself lacked any flavor which left me thinking they are not seasoning the meat prior to grilling making it flavorless no matter this much salt and pepper you add after the cooking process. I'll be sure to ask them to season the meat next time. The pies looked good but at almost $9 a slice we passed this time around. My chili cheese fries were really tasty though the fries could have been crisper. The chili had a good flavor and the cheese was plentiful. I forgot to ask for chopped onions but was hungry so I just ate them as is as by then they had gotten busier. The onion rings were really good, with the perfect type of breading but the portion was very skimpy as was the order of regular fries. Hello, I hope this finds the manager and business owner well. I would like to make a complaint against Elizabeth who worked on 2/23/26 at 630pm. I made an order on Doordash, which was half of a cookies and cream pie. My husband went to pick it up and when he arrived they told him you guys were out of cookies and cream pie and was no longer selling it, yet still had it up on doordash to purchase. My husband told them to cancel the order and give us a refund because we did not want another pie and only wanted the pie we ordered. Elizabeth then told my husband she was not going to cancel the order and I would have to take it up with door dash. Thanks to Elizabeth I, I'm not able to cancel the order because it's as if I AM THE ONE CHOOSING NOT TO PICK IT UP AND HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR 40MIN TO SPEAK TO A REPRESENTATIVE. I have never dined in Nation's Benicia but I do come here from time to time to pick up their wonderful pies. Usually grab a banana cream pie or a strawberry, if in season. Their pies are good in size and between those two, they're delicious. I haven't tried on any others since those are my two favorite types of pies but the others look just as good! Not in the mood for pie? They also have breakfast items, burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes! One of these days I'll have to grab more than just some pie. I haven't had issues with employees as mentioned by others. They're usually pretty quick and friendly when I've dropped in for a pie. The atmosphere is pretty well tended as well. read more

Been a Nation's fan forever. Every location has it's quirks. The Benicia location is very clean, new, and well laid out. Burgers are getting pricey, but they are big and loaded. Fries are crisp and thick. Onion rings have a nice crunch and come apart well. Haven't had a breakfast at this location, but they are a good choice for a quick breakfast. Everything is cooked to order and big burgers take time. It's better to call ahead if you can. The wait is usually 15 minutes, at least. read more
