Review is just for the lunch hour and prices. I tried the Pad Thai with beef and Drunken Noodles with minced chicken. Generous amount of food for under 10 bucks (only chicken for that price though). Pad Thai had good flavor, not too heavily seasoned. Only complaint was the beef needed a knife but that's an easy fix. My favorite was the drunken noodles. It is slightly sweeter and not as heavy as other restaurants which I appreciated. This is not just a Natta Thai restaurant. I can't wait to try A NATTA ONE of their dishes. read more

Decent food and good location (located in a strip mall so there's parking available), but the service wasn't the best. I got there 2 minutes before it opened and it was a cold day and I was standing outside. The lady working there saw me but refused to open the door until right when it opened. Wasn't super happy about that. I understand they weren't open yet, but if it's a cold day and it's literally 2 minutes until opening time, they could at least let customers in and sit if they see them standing out in the cold. Anyway, the food was alright. I ordered the Snow Pea Salad (Shrimp, minced chicken, snow peas, red onions, peanuts, egg and crispy egg noodles served with a special spicy lime dressing). It was decent, but not worth the nearly $10 it cost. Bottom line - there are so many great Thai restaurants in the DC and NOVA area, but I don't think Natta Thai is one of them. This is our favorite thai restaurant in the area, although Thai Luang in Herndon is a pretty close second. The important thing about Natta Thai compared to most of the other thai places in the area is that it is tiny, less than a dozen tables, so if you don't make reservations you could be waiting for a bit to sit down. We generally find the service to be very good, although sometimes when they get busy it can take a couple minutes to get water and to place your order. The food is generally good, the chicken pad thai is very good, not too greasy and very ample portions. I sometimes also get the panang chicken or the drunken noodles, both of which are also very good. Unlike the panang chicken or the pad thai, the drunken noodles do not reheat well though, so don't bother bringing home leftovers, they just turn to mush. I also liked the papaya salad since it is lighter on the fish sauce than some other thai places. read more

I was in the mood for some thai cuisine today so I did a quick search and found that Natta Thai was less than a block from where I was. Of course, I had to at least go see the menu and decided to stay awhile. The restaurant is located in the Glydon Plaza -- almost hidden away. It is a very small place that has a very intimiate atmosphere -- maybe there are 30 seats in the whole place---about half were tables for 2 and the other half were tables for 4. The decor is not very elaborate but I thought the color scheme made the place feel a bit antique. The service was good and very personal. Not sure if that is the norm or just because there wasn't much of a lunch crowd -- only about 10-12 patrons at that time. I tried the Golden Triangles (crab, shrimp and cheese in a fried wonton), the shrimp lemongrass soup and the chicken drunken noodles. I also sampled the chicken fried rice. Everything was served hot and was very delish! I am quite please with this thai experience, almost anxious to try something else on the menue. There is one type of food I've had a lot of success finding good places for in DC- Thai. Natta Thai continues that streak. Its a small place, but pretty well decorated without being over the top, overall bright and welcoming. Its tucked in a strip mall off 123, so its not the easiest place to spot. But well worth it- the staff is very friendly and welcoming, and the service pretty quick. And the food is delicious. I started off with the spring rolls, which were very tasty and not overly greasy or oily. For my entrée I went with my staple, drunken noodle, which was very tasty. Just spicy enough and the noodles were not soggy at all. My fiancée had the basil chicken- even though it didn't warrant the three peppers shown next to it, it was still very tasty with the right amount of basil so as to not overpower the dish. Hands down best Thai restaurant in the area. My favorite dish here is the Kee Mao. Also try the Vegan Rolls with the dipping sauce, it's on point The food is always cooked fresh and seems to take a little longer than most places. If ordering take-out, allow 20-30 min before it's done. The staff working here are extremely friendly and after a few visits they remember your name. The prices here are pretty reasonable for the quality and portion size. There is also lunch special prices. The restaurant is pretty cozy and intimate. Natta Thai is the kind of establishment that proves sometimes the best restaurants are those tucked unassumingly into a strip mall. Namely: never judge a book by its cover! I have eaten at Natta Thai many times over the years, dating back well before college (and prior to my Yelping days), and have never had a less than satisfactory meal or experience here. My recent entree of choice has been the Chili & Basil Tofu (which I always ask be prepared a bit on the spicy side! It is level 3 spicy on its own but my taste-buds say, "the spicier, the better!") On my most recent visit to NT, my good friend & neighbor opted for the See Ew Noodle with Tofu dish and reported that it, too, was quite tasty. We both more than cleared our plates! Major compliments to the chef. Downside: NT is quite tiny inside and gets pretty packed on weekend nights, as I recall. They are also popular for take-out. Beware of the door: you push to get in and pull to get out, which is more tricky than it might sound; reference previous comment about the lack of space inside this restaurant- and a perilously narrow entryway. I definitely recommend Natta Thai as a great local spot to fulfill a Thai-food craving, for lunch, dinner or takeout. Just be careful of that door... read more

This restaurant was recommended to us by close friends who ate here quite regularly before Covid. We understand that Covid has negatively impacted many places. However, the service and food was less than one star. We had a reservation for six people at 5:15pm. Our order was taken within 20 minutes of arriving. Standard. Appetizers arrived by 6:00. Standard. Golden triangles tasted pretty good. Calamari tasted like onion rings. Too much breading and too greasy. Then as tables started filling up and more take-out orders were taken, our main meals were forgotten. As they came out more than an hour and a half later, they didn't even come at one time. The food arrived sporadically and lukewarm. We could not all eat at the same time. The last of our dishes for our seated party of six came out at 7:44. That's 2.5hrs after we arrived. Other tables had come and gone. Take-out orders were being filled steadily. Other seated customers started complaining. It was not a good situation overall. I wish I could say that the food quality made up for the long wait. Alas, it did not. My Pad Se Yew was too sweet, and my husband's Wild Pork was too sweet. Our friend's Pad Thai was...you guessed it...too sweet. I'm not sure how the Fried Chicken with Ginger Sauce was (another friend's dish), but it looked over breaded. Nor did I try the other two dishes on the table to say how they fared. It wasn't worth it to me, at this point, since we already decided we won't be coming back (we also overheard similar sentiments from other guests seated nearby). Then to top it off, the server wanted to ring up the bill again for two of our guests because she had forgotten to charge them for their two Thai teas. I'd say, since we waited almost 3 hrs to eat, let it go and call it a day! But that wasn't the case. After my friend called to their attention our dismay over their complete lack of service which they seemed to treat nonchalantly with the comment "Sorry, we do our best", the "owner"(??) gave them two more Thai Teas on the house. We're not sure if this was a new owner or new staff or new chef or just a bad day for them, but we should have gotten more apologies and at least one free appetizer to share between us while we waited from 6:00-7:44 to receive the remainder of our meals. Natto Thai, I'm happy for you that you survived the Covid hardships but you will not continue to survive post-Covid if you cannot service your patrons seated inside your doors. Great Thai food perfect for the suburbs of Vienna and Tysons. Natta Thai opened a few years ago and joined a select group of Thai restaurants in the area. I've been using a different place up the street for years, but decided on giving this spot a try for Yelp so I can write this review. My co-workers and I selected the Kewe Toad appetizer, Garlic Chicken, Crispy Duck and Pad Woonsen. The Kewe Toad resembled fried wontons with ground-up chicken, shrimp and onion inside. They were crispy and make a great starter snack to get your appetite rolling. The Garlic Chicken had a deep, thick broth that bathed the succulent chicken breast floating among the various vegetables - perfect over white rice. The crispy duck was buried in a bed of basil almost hidden from view in the take-out container. Once speared however, the meat had a crunchy crust and a delicate, juicy center. The Pad Woosen used bean-thread noodles that resembled Philippine pancit or Korean Jap Chae to me, mixed with a flavorful variety of chicken, shrimp and mixed veggies. The restaurant itself is hard to find, nestled in the side of a strip mall. The interior is quiet and cozy, but really small and could be described as cramped. The establishment would not be good for large groups or children. The restrooms and dining area are clean and well-maintained. I can't speak for service because I got take-out, but the ladies behind the counter seemed really nice and served me with a warm smile. read more

I came with high expectations, especially upon learning that Natta has drunken noodles on the menu. We ordered the crispy duck with garlic sauce and the seafood drunken noodles. Sadly, the seafood drunken noodles had a few scant pieces of shrimp and squid only. Of my Thai food experience, this is the only time that a restaurant was so stingy with their seafood. I usually receive mussels and scallop when I order a seafood dish... after all, I ordered seafood, not simply a shrimp dish. I was unpleasantly let down. Nonetheless, the drunken noodles were perfectly unctuous and delicious. My crispy duck was not very crispy nor seasoned in any discernible way to pay tribute to the garlic sauce it was marketing. It was simply ok. Lastly, there were no chopsticks or napkin in our take-out order. This is the first time I did not receive utensils with my take-out. How ironic that it was the ONE time I actually needed utensils. We had to run down to the front desk at our hotel to get forks. read more

This is my wife's favorite place. We like to come here because the food is consistently good and the service is warm and attentive. My wife always gets the Natta fried rice with seafood. I've had the fried kale and Penang curry. Both were unique and excellent. The owner stops by and chats with us. Her husband does all the cooking and keeps everything fresh and high quality. The only drawback is there is no room for large parties of more than four people. Great for dates though. read more

Came here for lunch, restaurant was mostly full when we arrived. ( space is small, inside maybe seats around 30) was not offered a high chair for my infant, had to ask another server for one. Staff wasn't friendly .. just there to take your order and deliver your food. Food came out quickly , ordered pad see ew with tofu. Sauce was a little sweeter than other places nearby but portion was just enough for me. Good lunch prices, most things are $10.95. Spring rolls were another 7.95 then two Thai teas were $8, total adds up quickly . Loved Natta Thai! We go there an hour before close so there weren't many people there. The staff was really nice and attentive. The menu is big with a vegetarian section at the back. There were sooo many entrees that sounded good, but I opted for the spicy eggplant and added on veggies and tofu, and my dinning companion got the drunken noodles with tofu. The portions here are extremely generous and the flavor is on point. I got the chicken drunken noodle. The noodles were spicy with a smokey flavor like it had just been cooked on a hot wok which I love. My friends got the shrimp pad thai which also had great flavor. I took off one star because the restaurant is small with only one server so service is a bit slow. Additionally, I like my chicken to come in substantial pieces instead of ground chicken like what was served. We started with spring rolls which came out promptly. They were flavorful and crispy. We ordered another appetizer, the curry puffs. They were a total show stopper. Yellow curry and potato filling inside a flaky, crispy dough, with a sweet and sour dipping sauce. The wait staff was kind and attentive without being overwhelming. The interior was small and clean and inviting. It's clear that they take pride both in the creation and sharing of their food, as they noted the curry puffs are made in-house. We finished the meal with mango sticky rice, which was rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. While we were here, we also saw several take out orders come through. We had the salmon fried rice and it came out with a filet of grilled salmon and a side of flavored white rice! WHAT IS THAT? I was so confused! If it's FRIED RICE, it should be tossed all together no? We also had the crispy duck in garlic sauce and basil and it was good but not great. Heavily doused in sauce and the slices were a bit thick. So it's a tiny restaurant. it's a cozy place too with only handful of customers but if you go during Friday dinner, it does get crowded. The servers are friendly too. I think they know their regulars and treat them like friends. I usually get their shrimp pad thai. It's good, not overly sweet like other Thai restaurants. If you're not getting takeout from here, you're missing out! We got the crispy wontons, kanom jeeb (the BEST!) wild pork, chicken with chili and basil, and chicken with mango sauce. It's so good. Satay, spring rolls, calamari, it's all delicious and everything is packed with such care so that your sauces don't spill, your crispy things stay crispy, etc. One of my very favorite restaurants in the area and I'm glad to have been going here for about 16 years!
