Ok little place, under $30 lunch for 2, mamma's kitchen table vibe (if your into that). Plenty of food options for people with food restrictions. The food here is good. I love all the home made options. Veggie and vegan friendly, REALLY. Family kitchen atmosphere, not really my thing but whatever. Food was on the table within 20 minutes. I had the veggie chilli burger about $12. I rarely see this as a vegetarian option so i jumped on it. Choice of salad, chips, and others but no fries. Really good blue cheese salad dressing. The burger itself was actually really nice. Not the usual boca burger. I think this was made in house, along with most of the other menu items. It was nutty and kinda bready, good. I made the mistake ordering the chilli option cuz the (vegan) chilli kinda overwhelmed the subtleness of the burger. I was hoping for a burger with all the fixings including lettuce tomato and onion with a bit of chilli on to but got an open face sandwich drowned in chilli with no fixings but a little bit of red onion and cheese on top, which didnt do anything for me. The chilli itself was ok, i felt the beans to be undercooked and overall under seasoned and somewhat bland. I would come back and try some other items. This is a wonderful restaurant! Locally owned and operated. It has a wide variety on the menu so that you can get burgers, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free. It also has baked goodies prepared in house. And in their cafe, they make the most delicious and healthy food. My top recommendations are ALL of their quiches (they usually make several different types daily), their tomato bisque soup, Chinese Chicken Salad, Salad Sampler, and their Blue Cheese, Apple, Walnut Salad. In their bakery, I love the oatmeal and the molasses cookies. Both of which are usually my least favorite type of cookies in general anywhere else, but their cookies are so heavenly, they managed to make the least favorites the best flavored! Have you ever eaten something so good you just want to cry, but you don't want tears getting in your delicious food and ruining it? No? Well that's how amazing the veggie burger I had was! My husband surprised me with lunch from here (I've never actually been inside) and the veggie burger with perfectly grilled onions and melted cheese was the BEST burger I've had since becoming vegetarian many years ago. It came with a sauce on the side, which tasted like in-n-out's sauce or the Big Mac secret sauce - only better. I cannot wait to go back and eat it again. And again and again. So good! Very cute place with unique, kitschy decor. It is a sit down lunch spot that many people stop by from I-5. It's conveniently located near the freeway and gas stations with street parking. The city of Yreka is small (about 8,000) but big enough to be a legit town stop. The food was really really good. Like food your grandma would make you for lunch on a visit but better. I got the tuna melt and tomato soup. Also this place sells jewelry, hats, non-perishable grocery items, herbal medicine, candles, and more. The one thing the chef missed was having a spread on the bread. That my friend is a no no. An aoli or spicy mayo. And I should have asked for my bread toasted. Showed up around 8 AM, and they warned me they didn't have "full breakfasts", but that doesn't mean they didn't have great breakfasts. Had a bacon/jalapeno quiche, and an apple-raisin muffin -- both outstanding. Large fresh-squeezed orange juice simply added to the proceedings. Great organic food! Loved the dolphin safe tuna melt, but think adding their yummy greens to it would put it over the top. Their side salads are awesome, too. Would love for them to replace their forks thought. The ones they have now cut into your hand, and it was very uncomfortable to use them. Highly recommend them though and will go back! We stumbled across this place driving up to Ashland several years ago. I don't have specific memories of the food except that it was very good, but what I loved, and what has stuck with me, was the ambience. The handmade feel - and the gift shop that had lots of crafts for sale. I bought several carved wooden Balinese hanging goddesses, kitties, frogs. Exceptionally friendly service and very cool atmosphere. The food was healthy arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious.

Considering the small town location this place is a great find but don't believe the vegan hype, there really aren't that many options. This place is about 45% omni, 45% veggie, and 10% vegan. The menu was also printed with errors so if you're vegan double check with the waitress on what you can eat (i.e. veggie burger is not vegan but the grilled tofu sandwich is). I have to say the veggie chili really left a lot to be desired, it was more like pinto bean soup - if a couple other types of beans were added that would be a great improvement. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the attached health store/gift shop is quite impressive too which is probably why I'm leaning toward 3 stars instead of 2. Having said that, if I'm ever driving to PDX again I'd probably stop here, at least for a smoothie. read more

That being said, was offered anything from the lunch menu and was recommended the melon burrata salad. Wow! 3 kinds of melon, heirloom tomatoes with fresh burrata in the center. Everything was at the peak of ripeness and it was beautifully arranged. Also had the carrot, ginger and beet juice. Delicious! Lastly, if you like lemon bars, again, WOW. Best I've had. It was a 5 star dining experience for me but my cousin ordered the avocado toast and it paled by comparison. Nothing special. I would go back but probably not for breakfast. Well this little place was a wonderful surprise. Saw their sign on interstate 5 and thot it sounded good and boy was it. Its not just a cafe. They sell all kinds of goodies. Even using the restroom is an adventure. Organic foods, No GMO period. Natural soaps and toiletries. A book store, a bakery. We had an amazing lunch. I had the garden salad with chicken and my daughter had the cashew tofu salad. Absolutely delicious. We almost licked the plates. Vegetarian or not they have something yummy. The baked goods called to me but i had to turn them down. They have lovely little items, for sale,hanging from 30 year old plants decorating the cafe. Mike, in the grocery and Max, in the cafe,were charming and helpful young men. Their kindness and charm helped sell a package of coconut sugar and a lavender candle. Every person who passes through or living in Yreka should visit this little jewel of Northern CA. I will definitely return. read more
