They seem very short-staffed, which may be part of the issue, but the prep area did not look clean or organized. I want to love this place because it is local but have they ever cleaned the floors or tables? Came in on a Sunday morning for an Acai bowl that was completely liquid and essentially just a very large smoothie. But whatever, still tasted good. Family and I tried to find a place to sit and there's literally food, banana peels and straw sleeves all over the floor. It is gross. SO SAD to see this place under such poor management. When you look around at the state of this place it totally makes you think they must not be cleaning the back quite well either. And like, what are they even serving us then?! I keep coming here thinking something will change but seems like there is no urgency and lack of training. I would recommend the store check the online app and make sure the items being offered on the app are also offered in house as there seems to be a lot of confusion. I understand times could be tough but hiring more staff seems like it would benefit this location. Numerous times I have only seen one employee and they are visibly stressed. It will be a long while, if at all, when I will return. That's unfortunate as my job is across the street and recommending it could bring a lot of business. Nekter is one of my favorite spots for a good acai bowl but this location is not it. Their hours say they are open until 7:30pm but I've shown up around 6:45-6:50pm and they're already cleaning up. Sometimes no one is even at the register! The most recent time the girl working there said they could only make smoothies. Why say you're open until 7:30pm when you really aren't? The few times that I have been to this Nektar have always been good in terms of quality and service. My go to order is always the Açaí PB as I love PB. It always hit those cravings I had. I waited 20 minutes for one smoothie when there was only one person in front of me. When I got my smoothie and got in the car and handed it to my daughter, I realized it was completely already watery. It was never made like a smoothie. It looked like a juice. When I tasted it, it tasted like water and banana only but was the color purple it was completely disgusting, but I did not have time at that point to go back and ask for a refund. Sent them receipt and they said they couldn't process it because it was from a location in Carmel valley. They take no responsibility for their incompetence of charging me for purchase from closed location. Further after purchasing Buzz several times they are now watering it down. However, this time when I ordered two regular pink flamingo's and one mini mango delight, they were both downright terrible. Every one of them had a horrible aftertaste, like rotten milk and fruit. So, me and my friend went back in to ask to have them remade. While the worker was polite and did remake them, they were no better than before. They all still had a odd aftertaste and tasted flavorless. On top of that the mango delight smoothie was the consistency of water, not a smoothie, and both of the pink flamingos were not even close to being filled to the top. The fact I paid almost $30 for these horrible smoothies truly infuriates me. I have regularly waited 5-10 minutes past the promised time with no complaints. Unfortunately several weeks ago, 21 minutes past the promised time, my order had not even been started. I was unable to wait any longer and asked that the order be cancelled and my credit card be refunded. Several days later no refund had been issued, so I contacted customer service. Customer service responded immediately and said my request had been sent to the franchise management. 11 days later - still no response. The corporate office ultimately resolved my issue, but it is clear that the location franchise owner does not care about their customers or customer service. read more

However, the store seriously needs to pay much more attention to sanitation and cleanliness. On top of that, the nice lady was wearing gloves but took orders and touched various surfaces without changing them. Nekter makes a solid açaí bowl! I love that their bases are vegan and that they offer gluten free granola! The base is thick and creamy (without dairy) and they give a nice amount of granola. I wish they provided a bit more fresh fruit but overall very good. If you are looking for a pure açaí bowl this probably won't do it for you- their bases are typically a mixture of açaí, other fruits (like banana strawberries and blueberries) and some sort of non-dairy milk (I believe mine was cashew). When it was our turn, the employee said he was the only employee working and that we'd have to wait because he was backed up. We waited outside for about 7 - 8 minutes. In the meantime, another customer walked in and placed an order. We returned, thinking that he must be taking orders, and he again said that we would have to wait. My friend said, "You took their order." He said, "Yeah, but there's still gonna be a wait. " My friend asked him how long the wait would be, and he said, 20 - 30 minutes. We decided to leave. He clearly didn't want to take our order and made it known that he wouldn't take it either. He was very unprofessional, and although he was the only person working, there were better ways to handle the situation. He did not apologize for the wait or ensure we were happy customers in any way. I have no idea why he denied us and not others, but it was very upsetting. The place was not clean or well maintained. I usually go to the location near me where i am greeted, my order is taken quickly, and it's clean. The Redondo location was not satisfactory and did not meet my expectations for a juice bar. The fruit and veggies were not fresh & he was not waring gloves. I will not return to the Redondo Beach location. read more
