We order out from Neo quite often. The selection is of the best in the area (always ask what the sushi specials are) the quality is really good, consistency is very good. This is a no-frills, consistently good place to get sushi in the Clinton area. Recommend getting take out as the ambiance is a bit lacking for dine in options. My favorite roll is the double honey, but there is something to please everyone on the menu. This isn't NYC sushi, but it's better than most other options in the area and is a nice change of pace from the other local restaurant options. Service is always fast (ready in 15 minutes), and they have never messed up our order. Definitely recommend if you are craving sushi! read more

We went on a Saturday at 1:30. Yes, the restaurant is basic but ckean. Sat at the sushi bar and we were the only customers. We had the lunch offering of any 3 rolls - yellowtail, salmin and tuna and salmon sushi. All were fresh, good size servings and prompt. read more

Came late on a Friday night to Neo Sushi and was pleasantly surprised! The sushi is extremely fresh and they really pay attention to detail with their presentation of the food! This restaurant is solid. We have dined here three times now and have found the sushi fresh and of good value (nice portion sizes). Miso soup is flavorful (a little salty, which I like with miso). The kani salad is TO DIE FOR. I come here or get take out from here about once a week! I'm gluten free and the have gluten free soy sauce! I've loved every sushi roll I've had from here so far they all taste very fresh and I'll definitely keep coming to try more of the menu. I also love the house salad and all of the spicy rolls. I think it's better than other sushi places around here and definitely recommend it when your craving some sushi! read more

Sushi is great and the prices are fair. I always order takeout from here and it's usually ready within fifteen minutes. The staff that work here are always friendly and courteous. The only thing I would suggest is maybe offer some coupons? The ones on their current take out menu are expired. Other than that, love this place! Delicious!! read more

I am editing my previous review of 4 stars because at first I had a decent experience (its casual and very conveneint since its the only sushi in my town), but I dont think its fresh fish. I always know that when i get a bad stomach ache after sushi. For the fresh sushi places my stomach is fine, but that isnt the case here. I really wish some local sushi place would open up that uses metropolitan seafood as their fish. Then i would trust the source and know its good, fresh fish. read more

Had lunch there today. First impression was that it was nearly empty, but it was a little late. The place was super clean. I had chicken hibachi which was perfectly cooked with great seasoning. WARNING Neo Sushi Restaurant is ripping their costumers off and has the worst service!!! This will be a very long story about my experiences with Neo Sushi Restaurant in Clinton NJ. I keep forgiving them and coming back to get their food, even though they are so terrible. But I think this will be the last time for me to go there. There are 3 sets of menu for this restaurant, for dine in, on their website and the brochure that attached with the take out. Four months ago, we dined in there and ordered "Love Boat for Two" their menu said it will come with 16 sashimi, 10 sushi and 2 chef's special rolls. When the food served everything was right except there was only 1 chef's special roll and a california rolI. I doubled check myself and asked to checked with the dine in menu. I pointed it out to the waitress. She said "Oh the menu is wrong." Then she showed me the take out brochure menu which says this order will come with 1 chef special roll and a california roll. We tried to tell her that first of all we're dine in and second we ordered what we see on the menu. The menu is wrong. It should not become to be the costumer's fault. She did nothing for us. No discount on the bill or replace our meal. NOTHING. That was four months ago. Today, I ordered it again. This time I looked the menu from their website to order for take out which it says the love boat for two comes with 2 chef special rolls. However, I asked the woman who answered my phone "Is love boat for two comes with 2 special rolls?" She said "Yes" First of all, I should not have to ask. We should be able to look at the menu and expect to get what the menu says, right? When I picked it up. Bummer! It is one special roll and a california roll again. This time I didn't let it go so easily. First, this incident happened before they have known the menu is wrong since four months ago. Why don't they fix it? I asked them, people who order for take out and for dine in will get the different set of food from the same order? They said all food is the same but the menus are wrong. Second, I told them that I asked to double check about the menu before I ordered. Do you know what they said to me "She is new here. She doesn't know." Oh great, the menu is wrong. The person whom I talked with is new. So everything is my fault that I didn't get what I ordered. And most of all, she was not new! She was there on the 4 months ago too. I know it because, I have been going to this restaurant so many times even though I hate their rudely service and dishonest menu very much. But the food is alright and I love sushi too much. Moreover this restaurant is very close to my house. Today the servers and the the chef surrounded me and argued with me. I felt like they were attacking me. I was alone. Finally, I fought for my right till they got me 2 chef's special rolls as their menu say. However I fought so hard which I should definitely don't have to do it. They are rude not only they don't fix the problem properly in the nice way for their costumers (for me), but a couple weeks ago we were there and the server literally threw the menus in front our faces. When she served us, she threw the food in front us like we are animals. She was so busy on her phone with head phone on. We tried to ask for more wasabi but couldn't get her attention at all. Furthermore, One day I ordered to take out and she forgot to put the food in my bag. She called me and asked me to turn around to pick up the food that she forgot to put it in my bag. I was so mad. I thought she would at least give me a complimentary gift card or discount for the next time. Not that I want it so badly but it is a nice things to do. At least it is a common sense to compensate my time and gas that I had to spent to pick up my food from their mistake and unprofessional service. But there was nothing again. I would want to report the incidents to some regulations or someone. They over advertise on their menu and steal costumer's money. The difference price between the cheapest chef's special roll ($11.50 plus tax) and california roll ($5.50 plus tax) is about $6! At least it happened to me twice. I am sure not every body check the food like I always do. Let's say it happens to only 10 costumers. $60 is what they ripped off from innocence costumers! I am sure it is more than that. Be careful if you want to go to this restaurant. read more
