    Chilaquiles Verdes.

I came to Neptune's because of a TikTok from The Alameda Pulse. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and seated by a lovely waiter. They have really nice plants inside! I ordered a mocha while I looked through their menu, and as much as I thought I would order the breakfast burrito (as recommended on TikTok), I am in fact a chilaquile girl. Service was quite fast and friendly. My mocha was delicious, smooth texture, right amount of foam, perfect espresso. And the chilaquiles... A M A Z I N G, Mexican approved, she did tell me the green sauce was spicy, and it was not, but they were very flavorful, nothing some hot sauce can't do. As someone who works in this very same industry and supervises a cafe, I will be coming back and bring friends/coworkers over. Ignore the bad comments, sounds like a bunch of entitled people to me.

    Burrito with chorizo and avocado

We came for the burrito and it did not disappoint. I got mine with chorizo and avocado, which added to the creaminess of the burrito. It was a great balance of egg and fluffy heirloom potato pieces and I loved the green salsa that accompanied the dish. The tots were perfectly crispy and complimented the heavy burrito. Service was fast and the coffee strong. You can choose to sit inside or on the patio if the weather is nice!

Small sunlit restaurant in Alameda. I got the breakfast sandwich and it came with a small green salad with a great dressing and assorted breakfast potatoes. The bun I think was from firebrand bakery. It was fluffy, slightly sweet, and complemented the sandwich components. I think a tangy aioli would make it even better and less dry as well. The purple potato was the best of the bunch with a crispy crunch and soft inside. The service was nice. The place was clean but there was a slight wet rag smell where I sat. Also I wish the ketchup was brought as needed because the sun was super strong and would warm up the glass ketchup bottle that stays at the table all day. Might come back with friend for brunch and try other dishes.

Came here for brunch on a Monday at around 11. We were seated and helped right away. I ordered apple juice and the breakfast sandwich (disclaimer for dairy-free people: there is cheese on this sandwich, I don't think it mentioned that on the menu but I had to remove it because I'm lactose intolerant), and it came with a side salad and potatoes. We also ordered longanisa lumpia. Everything was so good! I would definitely come back. Before that day, I have picked up an iced matcha from the coffee shop window and that was also really good. I just wish they were open during the weekend!

I'm so happy to see Neptune's fully open again! The beautiful back outdoor patio is such a great space -- it's spacious, relaxing, and perfect for lingering over coffee or brunch with friends. I've been a few times recently and everything has been consistently delicious. Their latte is honestly one of the best in town -- smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced every time. On our most recent visit, we ordered the avocado toast, the breakfast sandwich with tater tots, and the Eggs Benedict. Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, and everyone at the table left happy. The decor is clean and welcoming, parking is easy, and the overall vibe makes it a great place to gather with friends or family. Another big plus is their convenient walk-up window -- perfect for grabbing coffee or a quick bite on the go. If you haven't been in lately, definitely check it out. It's a wonderful spot for the west end neighborhood!

We've been meaning to come here for a while now and we always couldn't catch the right time. The other day, we were up and about we were looking on where to go and chanced going here and we were happy they were open. I motif inside has a nautical feel and it is calming be there. I was also pleasantly surprised by the menu. I had looked it up before. I saw Filipino influences in a lot of the menu and being Filipino myself, I was happy to see it on the menu. The server and the rest of the staff were very nice and efficient. I didn't ask but I think the chef or owner was helping serve since they got pretty busy. This is very common in the Philippines were you just had to step up and help whoever needed help and that was very heart warming to see.

This place is pretty good. Cozy place for brunch. We were seated quickly and the servers are efficient! Food was great and would definitely come back again. Love how they have a dedicated parking lot as well. Eggs Benedict was delicious!

So disappointed with the iced matcha. Tastes like milk and.. food coloring. Just kidding, I doubt they use food coloring but I'm not sure where the green color came from because it did not taste like matcha. I was asked if I wanted it sweet and I said sure. Not sure where the sweetener was but it sure wasn't in my drink. The customer service was good despite them closing in half an hour (maybe that's why the drink was mid?) I can't speak on their food but the reason this isn't a 1 star is: good customer service, decently priced, cute location Perhaps I will return for a food item or different drink in the future, but this was not a first good impression :(

Finally got to get a chance to eat here! They only do dine ins Monday thru Friday. Otherwise it's takeout only. The food overall is mediocre. I thought it was pretty mid unfortunately. Service was great here! Food came fast and our server was super nice. Ambiance is pretty good--there's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. WHAT WE GOT: - Matcha Latte: 3/5 pretty good but nothing special - Hazelnut Latte: 4/5 well made but a little sweet - Caprese Panini: 2/5 this was kind of disappointing. I was hoping for a nice toasty sandwich, but instead it seemed like they barely pressed it. It was not toasty and warm. The bread was soggy and I think it's bc they didn't use the right type of bread. There was way too much mozzarella and not enough basil. - Breakfast Burrito with Bacon: 3/5 this was okay, the flavor was your typical breakfast burrito. The portion size was pretty small and instead of potatoes they use sweet potatoes which was interesting--not something we were expecting. Overall this was an okay breakfast spot, nothing amazing.

I really also wanted to Give this place an amazing review ,but unfortunately it sucked honestly .The setup inside of the restaurant was cute and quaint .The service sucked and it wasn't even that busy .I ordered the chilaquiles , and it looked amazing and started to taste really good with the flavors it had going on ,but all Of the chips were soggy .,like it had been sitting out for hours .The guy never came back to check on me or asked if I needed anything else .i sat and waited for 20 min to pay until I got I up and told someone I need to pay .i won't be going back

My friend and I came here on a whim, I really really wanted to love this place because they don't have good reviews and I want to boost up business. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles and she couldn't eat it, she said it was cold and nasty and we had to send the dish back. I had some sort of egg scramble, it was strange that it just came out of the kitchen but the food was cold. The eggs were kind of runny and the cheese wasn't melted all the way. The potatoes were okay, pretty crispy but it was so greasy and again kind of like warm. It was very strange. The sliced avocado was the only good part. The ambiance is cool, it was empty when we went on a Friday morning but the place itself looks cool. If the food improves this place has potential but I won't be returning for now.

    Ask the Community - Neptune's

I call all the time to ask when are you going to reopen?

Well what do they say??? They're sure not responding here --

Does anyone know when/if they plan to reopen indoor/outdoor dining?

I would love to know the same. I'm waiting for the day to go back here.

Do they have outdoor dining options? Do they take reservations?

Looks Yum! Do they offer gluten free toast or buns? I'm not talking about lettuce. :-)

No but get it without as I do and you'll be better off metabolic health-wise anyway 😉

So they have gluten free toast or rolls?

No but get it without as I do and you'll be better off metabolic health-wise anyway 😉

Is it still to-go orders only? Have they opened for dining yet?

As of today -- 11/14 -- they are STILL not open to dine-in. I am so so sad.

    Is outdoor seating available?

    Not yet!

Do they use mostly organic ingredients - does anyone know?

No. They claim "farm to table" and local ingredients, but this is inaccurate.

Is dog allowed in the patio?

Yes, dogs are allowed on the back patio. :)

They advertise outdoor seating but I don't see any pics. Is their patio cute for groups?

Really cute wooden tables, covered patio, and some patio furniture as well. Liked it more than being inside (super loud). Their Instagram @neptunesalameda has pics of their outdoor seating

The number listed is disconnected. Is Neptune's still in business? Thanks!

Yes! We go there pretty much every week. Unless it was hit by a meteor it should still be open.

Review is for the London Bus Burger, Louie Louie (soft-shelled crab) and onion rings! The Bureau 510 gets their burgers right: lightly seasoned, not overly handled so you can feel the wonderful texture along with some major juiciness. Also a big plus is their meat-to-bun ratio so you get a nice bite of burger with the sturdy yet soft bun. The Louie Louie looked amazing. My 2 friends ordered that and devoured. We walked in without a reservation and were seated quickly. There was plenty of seating outside and a few tables inside; we chose inside. The atmosphere was lively but never loud! Food: We started with the Corn Fritters and the Smashed Potatoes, both scrumptious, but the Corn Fritters were exceptional. Both came out hot, fast, and in generous portions. For our mains, we shared the Fried Chicken Sando and the Three Little Pigs. The Chicken Sando was phenomenal! I have not stopped thinking about it. The bun was warm, buttery, and soft, and the chicken was perfectly moist. On the Three Little Pigs tray, the pork shoulder was the clear winner: moist, beautifully seasoned, with just the right amount of fat. Really well done. The one letdown: the sausages and ribs on the Three Little Pigs tray were unfortunately quite dry, which was disappointing given how strong the rest of the meal was. The BBQ sauce was just okay, and the accompanying green salsa wasn't our style. Our bill came to $112 before tip; two appetizers, two mains, and an Arnold Palmer, which felt completely fair for the quality and portion sizes. We left stuffed and with a ton of leftovers. We will absolutely be back. Thank you, Spinning Bones, for making a special night even more memorable.

The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. I was surprised that I didn't have to hold the reservations with a credit card which was nice. We arrived a few minutes early and waited just a few minutes before our table was ready. As soon as we sat down the hostess asked if we needed any waters. Our waiter Jacob also came around right away to see if we wanted to order any drinks, we ordered the old fashioned, the Mai tai special, and margarita. Drinks came back pretty quick which was good. All the drinks tasted pretty good. For starters we ordered the calamari for the table, fruit salad, clam chowder, and a wedge salad. The calamari came out first, it was cooked perfect, had good flavor to it, the Brussel sprouts mixed with it was tasty, and the lemon sauce that came with it was refreshing. The clam chowder was excellent but it was more like a cup than a bowl. The wedge salad was okay, I've never had eggs in my wedge before, and it could use some better bacon bits or whatever it was for the bits of meat. The fruit salad was great. For our entrees we ordered the Ribeye, the Lamb chops, the Pork chop, the New York or Sirloin, and the Duck Breast. The good thing is that all of the entrees came with sides versus a la cart. The entrees came out after a while which wasn't too bad. It seemed like they only had one waiter taking orders for all the tables. Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Pork Chop Sirloin, and the Duck Breast were cooked perfect, med rare, and great flavor on all the meats. The ribeye was a little tough which was weird since it was cooked perfect., so I don't why that was. All the sides (cream spinach, mashed potatoes, corn, brussel sprouts) were very good. For dessert we shared the Strawberry Shortcake and the Churros. Two great desserts, fluffy bread, tasty strawberries, the sauce was perfect, the churros came out hot, nice crunch to them, and the flavor was great. Overall, a great place to have dinner. The restaurant has plenty of seating. We go all around the bay area and I believe prices are pretty high for drinks, soups, salads, and desserts. We didn't have any Italian food but looking at the menu, they could be just a tad high as well. Our waiter Jacob did a great job.

I came here last night for a personal event. I told the owner that I was not going to do a review…read moretonight, but he actually stated for me to do one... so here it goes. For the event, we had reserved labels on our tables. The waiter took drink orders, then food orders. I came late and requested to be the last one to place a food and drink order because I did not want to hold the others up. The waiter forgot about me. He never returned. Fortunately, a waitress was bringing something over to a table buddy of mine and I was able to place my order with her. However, I ordered 2 drinks. One was supposed to come immediately after ordering and the other with my food. The waitress said she was going to try to plan the one with my food so it came out together. She forgot about my 1st drink until reminded almost 20 mins later. I ordered my food which was $17.50 sliders with a substitute of fries $2.. and add bacon $2. When my food came, it came with some sort of greens (Arugula salad..I think) and a side of fries. I don't understand why I got salad because I substituted it for fries. My fries came out first, which made no sense because I ordered my food together. However, upon tasting the fries.. they were cold in some parts..smh. I sent them back for hot fries. The sliders seemed overcooked because they were dry. I'm used to sliders being juicy and soft. My sliders were hard...smh. I did not bother to send them back because I was with many people and I really did not feel like going through the motions tonight..as I normally would have of my food order is just wrong. When the bill came, I noticed that they charged me $9 for a large fries. If it was only +2 to substitute... why did I get charge that? I went on and paid it without complaints. There were at least 4 ppl who ordered food before me and they still did not get their food and it was like an hour passing. I had 2 glasses of wine (Malbec & Blanc). Both were good. I loved the fact that they had karaoke. However, I disliked the fact that people who had gone once still went a 2nd time although there were plenty of people who still had not gone a 1st time. I think this place is chill. They need to do better with accomodating larger parties in both a timely manner and effectively ensuring food is correct, hot and cooked to perfection. I think they probably do best with a table of 4 or 5 ppl. Lastly, it was super hot in here. Yes there are ceiling fans. However, it seems that they have no central air whatsoever. That's ridiculous. Oh BTW.. no waiter ever came back to our table to ask if we wanted to order anything more. They also did not come over to ask if the food was good either. Our finshed plates say in front of us from the time we got it until almost 11pm. I would say that my table received food by 8:30ish.

Intimate, creative, delicious…read more I love how intimate the experience and space is, with Chef Sarah Cooper coming out personally to serve several courses. At the same time, it's the driver behind why reservations are so hard to get. Hard but not impossible if you just make sure to set an alarm for when they are released. The Taiwanese style sausage on steamed brioche was both my partner and my favorite dish of the night. The bun is so good. In general, I liked the smaller bites the most - egg custard tart, uni tofu, pretzel croissant! The bay leaf ice cream at the end was also a highlight. Also don't miss out on their house made chili crisp that you can buy. It's somehow not that spicy while still having all the flavor. It's my favorite thing to top noodles with right now.

I was really looking forward to dining here since reservations were hard to make, and I had heard…read moremany good things about this intimate spot with only four tables. The interior was cozy and inviting, with just 12 seats max. and shelves lined with ume syrup and ume liquor on display. After making my reservation, I messaged them about my dietary restrictions due to pregnancy, and they were incredibly thoughtful and accommodating. The printed menu even reflected all the modifications they made. Everything felt well planned, and I didn't feel like I was missing out. I loved the Asian-inspired dishes. From the refreshing ume spritz to my favorites of the night - the egg custard tart and Taiwanese sausage brioche bun. Many dishes brought back childhood memories. Everything was delicious and complemented one another beautifully. You could tell the chef put a lot of care and thought into creating the menu. The last fries course and the take away olive cake were a nice touch to end the meal. Highly recommend if you're lucky enough to snag a reservation.
