Was out this way for a wedding and was told we needed to stop here before heading back ....so we did! Great big burger cooked on the spot and the fries were okay. I've had better but it wasn't bad. The patty didn't have much flavor to it however, it was super tender and juicy. I was hungover so maybe my taste buds were off but even my fiancé said the patty had no seasoning. It's a super small shack in the back of a lot and very limited seating and it was busy. I will give this place another try if I'm ever up that way again and I'll update my review. It was alright. Nothing to write home about, but way better then the typical fast food chains. I do really like that it's not the typical repressed burgers, nice hand pressed burgers. Let me warn you they are big and One of the heaviest burgers I've ever had, sounds weird, you will understand once you get it. I would definitely consider myself a burger aficionado. Although the spot right here, Nessy burgers. Honestly, 2/5 if we're going to be brutally honest. The burgers are big I get it, but you guys have to do a better job with the bun. Why is the bun so thick? The patty is already extremely thick. You could easily improve the quality of the burger if you guys used thinner buns. Patty is great, but also keep in mind these burgers are priced high because it's located in the middle of Egypt, so finding a burger spot that actually cooks the burger isn't just something you find. All in all, for being in the middle of absolutely no where it would suffice. Fries are thick crinkle fries so be sure to get a lot sauce. Expect to pay about $20 for an entire combo (fries, drink and burger). Would I come back if I was stuck in the middle of nowhere again? Sure. Staff, no comment. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would do it. My husband and I had heard about this place from co workers and friends we finally tried it about 1 hr. Ago, we got the top sirloin burger and it was terrible. The meat had no flavor, it was very tough, the bread was soggy after 2 minutes or less, we had to add lots of ketchup and jalapenos so we could get some flavor out of it. I really don't understand why people like it so much perhaps their other burgers aren't as bad but we don't even want to find out we will never go back!! ***I am editing this review the next day after eating there because my husband got FOOD POISONING he has been thrown up at least 5 times this AM and has bad diarrhea...I only took a 2 bites off my burger because I didn't like it but he ate the whole thing because he didn't want to waste it so I only have minimal stomach pain*** Avoid going there...who knows under what conditions they store their food!!! read more

Its a stretch, here's three analogies why... 1) Nessy is that "Hot Girl" at work whom you think is an 8 or 9, but in reality outside of work, she is more like a 6. 2) Nessy is that average looking chick all the guys are trying to talk to at a "sausage" party(no or few girls) 3) You thought your small town boyfriend was hot...then you saw Channing Tatum in Magic Mike... Nessy is the ONLY burger joint in a 5 mile radius. You really don't have any other choice in Rainbow, CA. Its a pretty good burger, I won't redescribe what everyone else already has...but if this were located in the middle of San Diego, I doubt I'd pay $6.35 again for a Nessy Burger, there's better choices in SD. I've been to Nessy's several times, in hopes that it will somehow get better. Yes, the burgers are huge, however they are always overcooked, extremely dry, and the meat has absolutely no flavor. My buddy raved about this place so I drove out of the way here, prices are pretty steep and everything is a la carte so just ordered a nessy burger and soda. The burger came with a sliced tomato which had a sticker on it (which wasn't a big deal to me) but the burger was just plain gross, it was one of the worst burgers I had for as long as I can remember, it was just bland and tasted like a really really bad home made burger. After two visits, I've concluded that Nessy's is pretty legit. It may seem a bit steep at $8 a burger for a small fast food joint, but it's basically an In-N-Out-quality burger on steroids. The burgers here are huge and have great flavor. The cashiers don't say hello or really show any customer service skills... they just ring you up and move on. Which is whatever. If you're driving too fast on Old Highway 395, it can be easy to drive past it. And if bees or bugs bug you, then be prepared to eat in your car... they'll get you regardless of where you sit, unfortunately. read more

These burgers are the bee's knees! They are extremely juicy and delicious. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know quality. The parties are huge and the lettuce, tomato, and onion all taste fresh. Although it can a bit pricey, it's totally worth it. The burgers are large, the order of fries is large, basically you get your monies worth. There's also a market in the same shopping center, and I usually go there to buy a drink. They're super cheap. But I believe they charge extra if you use a credit/debit card, so make sure to pack some cash! read more

I didn't really want to stop here for lunch today with the outside temperature about 100 degrees. All their tables are outdoors. I was thinking more of eating lunch in an air conditioned environment. But, my subordinates outnumbered me. So, we stopped here for lunch. I've been here twice in the last 4 months. The first time was with my subordinate, the gringo. Since I hired him, I made him pay. The gringo graciously got me the Nessy burger. The burger was big. It had a lot of meat. It came with lettuce, tomatos and onion. They had salt, pepper, thousand island dressing, and ketchup at the counter in case you wanted more flavoring. It was a very good burger. The second time was today with 3 of my subordinates, the gringo, the redneck and the college educated guy. I should have made them pay for my lunch again, but, I didn't. The redneck lives about 20-30 minutes away from this place. He comes here often. He told us to order from their secret menu. So, I ordered the "Trucker Burger" which is a Nessy burger wtih 2 fried eggs on top. With thousand dressing, ketchup and a little bit of salt, this was a very good and messy burger. It was messier than any Carls Jr. burger that I have ever had. I couldn't fit the burger in my mouth. The burger left my hands greasy. Grease and sauce were all over my face. I heard about this place from a local family that have been coming here for years. When I asked about this place, they had this huge smile as they described how good this place was. I came here at 6:30 pm on a Monday night. Menu/Food: The menu is very simple. There are only about 8-10 things on the menu. I ordered: *Nessy Burger ($5.50): Buns, meat, lettuce, cheese, 1000 island sauce and onions. The burger is good and BIG! I shared this burger with my sister and I was full! My husband even mentioned that the burger was big and he didn't even know how he finished it. All three of us were really impressed by the burger. My sister mentioned that it tasted like an In-n-out and Big Mac combined, which i agreed as well. I live in san diego and sped home (40 min drive) to eat it and it still tasted great! This is the second best burger. My favorite burger is from Shake Shack in NY. *Chili Cheese Fries ($5): The portion was average. The fries were good and it was covered with the melted liquid cheese and chili. I loved the cheese that they put on it, so overall, it was awesome. I found the burger meat to be dry and flavorless. The onions made it for me. All the other things on the burger made it too "nessy" to eat without a lot of napkins, which we did not receive. I like the fries. Everything was served hot to order. The girl at the the pickup window was rude. This was last Sunday. One star off for that. They moved down the street to Old Hwy 395. Hopefully YELP will update soon. This place is very good. Not so good that I'd drive over 45 minutes from San Diego for it, but my co-worker lives out here and we decided to have a Rocky's/Nessy challenge. Last week we had Rocky's and of the half a dozen times I've been there, it wasn't as good as usual. Here's how they compare: Patty: Both seasoned very well. Rocky's will occasionally cook yours to order, but often times it's overdone. Nessy didn't ask. Both offer 1/2 pound patties, Nessy's seems MUCH larger. Despite being overdone, both patties are still juicy. For this specific taste test, winner: Nessy. But compared to previous visits, I would go with Rocky's. Bun: Nessy's has a sesame seed bun that fit the burger well, but mine was SOAKED with grease. Rocky's bun also has difficulty containing the patty, but I've never had mine soaked with grease. Winner: Rocky's. Toppings: Rocky's only offers cheese and onions (raw or grilled). Nessy's offers cheese, egg, chili AND special sauce (like In/Out). We had ours today with cheese and eggs, but the eggs were overcooked. Despite this, Winner: Nessy Fries: Nessy has crinkle fries which are my favorite and you can get cheese, chili, or both. PLUS, you have that delicious sauce as an option too. Rocky's are usually decent fries as well, but they're standard. Winner: Nessy So, it's pretty much a tie. Both places have solid burgers. However, considering the fact that Rocky's is less than 1 mile away and Nessy is 45 miles away, I'm gonna have to keep Rocky's as my numero uno go to. read more
