Gavin assisted me with scheduling and was so quick to call me back and help me make an appointment. Kaleo and Nick were so helpful with repairs and helping me understand them. My ford transit was having engine rattling and they are definitely the helpful and trustworthy team I was able to entrust with some big repairs. Mike and his mechanic who looked over my car did me a potentially life-saving solid today. A couple days prior my speedometer and power steering died at the same time. Tried to booking an appointment at my usual place to get it looked at, but they were queued up for the next two weeks. Wasn't going to go back to the dealership I got my car from either (reasons explained below) so I ended up looking around and seeing as how Neue Auto's rating was so high, I called them up late Thursday and managed to get an appointment on the following Monday morning despite it being a holiday weekend. Turns out reading Yelp reviews was an excellent decision. TLDR: The team at Neue Auto are professional, courteous, and highly skilled experts in their field who were quickly able to inform me why my car was unsafe to repair much less drive it, and that it'd probably be a better decision to trade it in instead of taking it to a body shop to make it repairable. Long Version: I get a call from Mike not an hour after I dropped off my car and notified me that they wouldn't be able to complete a diagnostic much less repair the issue. The reason? The car was unsafe to be lifted due to my engine mount having been left halfway hanging basically since I bought the thing two years ago. My ABS and Brake fluid reservoir weren't bolted down and a bunch of the wiring under the hood was improperly installed and just taped up with visibly open connections at the edges of some of the electrical tape bundles. Oh, and apparently they discovered damage that looked like it was from an accident that was never on any report I received when purchasing the vehicle. This was everything they found from just a quick look over of the vehicle so I probably have way more issues. The only time I've taken my car in for major repairs was a month after purchasing it because of a coolant leak and the dealership I took my car back to ended up replacing about a grand in parts & labor, but never actually fixed the issue which what I believe was a cracked head gasket. Quick Google search and a bottle of car cement later, my car seemed to be running fine. The guys I do my yearly safety inspections with never said anything either so I figured nothing was wrong. Except for, you know, the half bolted engine mount and everything else that is hanging loose under the hood. For two years. Either all my bolts somehow fell out while I was driving, my car was sold to me in this condition, or the dealership who sold/conducted the major repair never put my car back together the way it was supposed to. Now I'm not all that car savvy, but I'm preeeetty sure that this vehicle hasn't been safe to drive for a while. I received confirmation that yes, my car is safe enough to be hobbled over to the street before being towed. I'm very thankful to Mike and his team for quickly pointing out my soon to be former vehicle's deficiencies. Sure I gotta get a new car, but at least now that I know, I won't be blindly driving a death trap with Final Destination written all over it like I have been. Kinda having a moment here taking in how ridiculously fortunate I am that nothing worse happened other than my power steering and speedometer going out on a very safe road with a residential speed limit. -D read more

I requested a quote from Neue Auto regarding a possible blown head gasket on my 94 Nissan Sentra. Not only was the response super quick, it was a REAL response. Truthful, courteous, and helpful! Upon arrival, I was greeted by the team and was asked several questions about my car's crazy AC problem. Once complete and knowing I needed to go to work, they offered me a ride. Say whaaat? I was surprised and thankful for the cool offer, but had already scheduled a ride to the office. After some time, they notified me of the issues, fix actions, recommendations and pricing. (Their prices are very, very reasonable.) Again, cool, thorough, and professional. Ultimately, my car's fixed and I am a happy driver. I usually give my business to shops in the Aiea area solely because of convenience, but wasn't completely satisfied with the results. This is a long over due review. All around great, consistent, genuine customer service! Nick and his crew are consistent when it comes to servicing their customers, from explaining everything in layman's terms for someone like me who knows nothing about cars. My car was in and out on the same day. Coincidentally, my check engine light came on the day after my repair was done (which had nothing to do with their work). I called Nick right away and he asked for me to bring it in the same day. He was nice enough to get it fixed, complimentary within a couple of days. Unfortunately, the problem that I initially went in for was not fixed. The clicking noise while turning didn't go away. I didn't reach out again because I didn't want to pay a big bill again and I didn't have time to take off from work. Also, the dropped star is for not knowing they offered free shuttle service if you live near by. Had I known from the beginning when the appt was made, I wouldn't have scheduled and paid an Uber when I dropped off my car. Otherwise, great customer service with a bunch of great guys. read more

About a year and a half ago I took my old school 2005 Range Rover to a mechanic for the same reason I took it to NEUE Auto last Monday: an oil leak and squealing belts on a cold startup. When I picked up my vehicle from the first shop, they assured me the issues were fixed. I paid them and went on my way. As it turned out the squealing at cold startup (belts and tensioners) was fixed but the fresh cardboard I placed in my garage parking spot revealed that the oil was still leaking--and steadily. A friend of mine--well, more like an associate really...said I should have taken it to NEUE. Oh, NOW you tell me! Last Friday I picked up my Rover from NEUE and am very pleased to announce that there is no more squealing or oil leak! Three days later and there isn't a drop of oil on the cardboard! I am very disappointed with how these guys handled my car. I understand that sometimes the problem solving process means fixing one thing and finding out there is another issue. However, in this situation they told me it was one problem, I paid them. Then, they said they believe there is another problem so I paid more money for the test so they can determine the problem. When the test was done they then said that they believed it was "x" problem but they would not know until they go in and even then they CANNOT FIX IT THERE AT THEIR SHOP. My thought was, "then why did you have me do this test?" What they CAN DO IS REPLACE THE ENGINE which they can give me a quote. I feel as if my car went in for one thing and was RETURNED to me in WORST condition. In addition, I received my car back with no gas, no oil, no water, and I noticed water dripping from my water pump. Horrible basic customer service! Especially, knowing that I had brought the car in with all of its fluids. By the time I got my car back the car engine light was also "on" when it was not on when it went in and I feel like I had paid $1700 for absolutely nothing! I feel cheated! People work hard to earn their money and I feel like they flushed my hard earnings down the drain. read more
