I really needed a Chinese fix today, so I wanted something a little different but I wanted a buffet, and I found new century buffet. I'm glad I tried it. It has more food choices than the one we go to in La Mesa, and the soups are a lot more tasty. Selection is awesome, the sushi choices are far better than our other buffet, which we probably won't be visiting from now on, this will be our go to Chinese buffet place. Price is a reasonable, $15 for lunch, and $20 for dinner. The reason I left three stars and not four, the rice they put out in a pan is dried out because it's just sitting there steaming and all the moisture is cooking away. I also had iced tea with my meal, it was so sweet that it could make you sick or gag. The service was good, and it was nice and quiet in there, and it should be getting four stars. But to put rice in an open pan, I've never seen that before especially not white rice. Anyway, you'll find something to eat, and I had a large variety of things. I took pictures.

One of the best buffets I been to food was good . 17.99 for dinner. It's in El Cajon California of fletcher parkway. They are professional and polite they check on you. I had susi hot wings. Shrimp noodles. Yes I recommend them and I be back. Not many all you can eats still around.

8/02024 - I haven't been here in a while and usually go to 1968 in El Cajon or anywhere on Convoy daily for Asian food. I went at opening at 11am because I hate crowds. Already people in there eating. When I left about 20% full of capacity. Large selection of items. I tried a little bit of everything. Everything was average tasting. The best items IMO were the donuts, fried squid, wings and I killed the butter shrimp. Probably ate 1/2 a pound of shrimp. I always leave $1 per plate for a tip. I had 2 plates. Employees were nice. Floors are old and ceilings have water stains. I was disappointed in the kung pau chicken, no flavor and is always go for this dish. A total of 3 stars. See photos. Total cost was $15 for 1 adult. Oddly, the signs for the lunch food selections were never replaced and showing dinner selections.

After eating here, you'll find yourself comparing every other buffet to it and most won't even come close. This place definitely raises the bar. Highly recommend!

Arrived around 5:15pm, and there wasn't a line, but the restaurant had a good amount of diners. Pretty good ventilation at the front of the restaurant, but the back part of the restaurant, likely the overflow room was where my family and I were seated. It had a funky smell to the area and there was poor ventilation. I wanted to step out but I refrained. Everything felt stuffy in that section. The only nice person was the male staff member at the front for checkin. The rest of the staff were not very friendly. The hostess who walked us to our table was not very friendly and just rushed things. Took our drink orders, and didn't say much. Just walked off. I was surprised to see the pitchers with the beverages were sitting on top of a counter outside where customers are, without any lids. Anyone can just walk by and touch or spit in them. Thought that was not very hygienic... Different sections of food. I never expect food at buffets to be of good quality or taste excellent, so the food items were all mediocre. The teppanyaki grill was... well, let's just say they use the same spatula for everyone's entreés. You load up your plate and the cook throws everything on the grill. Uses the same spatulas to cook everyone's food. If you have allergies or sensitivity to spice, then probably avoid this section. He cooked the meat for someone else's plate and then touched the veggies for the other. Used mod spice level sauce for one, and then same spatula on my entreé. My order was non-spicy, but it had a kick since the neighboring sauce got onto my stir fry. Dessert section isn't even labeled.... meaning, the baked/dessert items aren't labeled other than the gelato flavors. Crab legs were very salty. Lobster claws in the cold section were OK though. The warm lobster they serve is limited to 1 per person per serving. Long line, and if they run out, you have to wait or return when they serve again. People were waiting in line while eating their food... the lobsters are tiny, dry, and with very little meat. It is definitely not worth paying the extra for lobster night. The amount of waiting time is ridiculous and there is no guarantee that you can even get a lobster. Some groups have 1 person waiting in line and then when it is their turn, the rest of the group members (5-7) cut the whole line to each get a lobster. I was trying to get 1 for my mother, and I didn't get to eat one, but didn't mind since it didn't even look good. Rest of the foods were mediocre too. I had 1 plate that wasn't even full... lost my appetite. Wouldn't return. Hygiene.... cross contamination... Some people say this place is like the old Pala casino buffet or Las Vegas buffet- definitely not the case. Parking can be compact. Gets busy around 5:45p it seems as more people were waiting in the lobby.

For one thing there is Mongolian barbecue. If you want hot, freshly cooked food, take that route. You also have decent quality sushi. But fried things, like french fries, are always cold. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for what you get: * Lunch Buffet (Mon-Fri): $16.99 * Dinner Buffet (Mon-Fri): $20.99 * Weekend & Holiday Buffet: $20.99 * Drinks not included For the price this buffet is one of my favorites to bring the eating machines I call sons. We arrived right when they opened, and that was definitely the move. Everything was hot, fresh, fully stocked, and looked like it had just come out of the kitchen. The selection was huge. There was sushi, teppanyaki, soups, seafood, Chinese dishes, American comfort food, pasta, pizza, salad, 3 different soups, soft-serve ice cream, fondue, and desserts. The seafood section alone had enough options to keep me busy for several trips. The only thing I wish they would improve is labeling the food. With so many different dishes available, it was hard to tell exactly what some items were without asking. The buffet line was constantly restocked and upkeep. What really stood out was the service. Our drinks were consistently refilled, empty plates disappeared quickly, and the staff never made us feel rushed, even when we stayed a while sampling everything. They were attentive without hovering. We even got fortune cookies at the end. Overall, if you're feeding a family with growing teenagers who eat like competitive athletes, this place delivers a lot of variety for the price. Come hungry and pace yourself--you'll need a strategy to make it through all the options. Great value, friendly service, and enough food choices to keep everyone happy.

I had packed to stay but was one of those who wanted to just go home but because my husband was away in Hemet with our dog I decided that I'd take my friends suggestion and stay. Originally there would have been more than just me staying so we had opted for a room with two beds. I ended up sleeping on the bed closest to the AC. The room had complimentary waters but I had brought a pack and snacks for our "after pool party." just in case we needed more. The room itself is super spacious even with all of us in it meaning 8 people there was still so much room. The blackout blinds were truly black outty and the bathroom was really large and perfect for just me. The shower had good water pressure and made me feel nice and relaxed after hours in the sun. I brought my own blanket but didn't really need it the pillows were comfy even though I hoarded them from both beds, would definitely stay in room again. I felt safe on my own and just had the best time sleeping in AC.

The smoking smell can be a bit much. The housekeeping apparently doesn't clean unless you ask. Didn't know this so had no housekeeping for four days. The 21 and up environment is great for adults who want to be adults without kids running around. The restaurants are decent. I would recommend Viewpoint for breakfast/brunch and dinner. The staff there during morning and night were all great. Rank and File is also a good choice for dinner. I only had soup from the Pink Buddha which was just okay. Bull and Bourbon was an absolute no for me. They took our reservation at 8:30pm, my party showed up early and got seated before then. We didn't get our food until after closing which was 10pm and it was cold. They then had started throwing out their food for the night. So we felt rushed and no dessert. Our waitress claimed that we didn't get seated until 9, which was false. She came to us at 9 and it felt like we were a forgotten party. The pool is great, especially the lazy river. We got a cabana which was great to have a dedicated spot. However we were not informed beforehand that the cabana rental was over at 5pm. The pool is open until 8. Really the only part of this resort that saved this review was the front desk staff for check in/out, Tara from the front desk, Viewpoint for breakfast and dinner, Rank and File - specifically JJ, I believe that was her name. Omg and for the male bartenders at the pool, pour the damn drinks and stop flirting. I shouldn't have to wait over 5 minutes for you to pour one god damn cocktail and then half arse my $30+ Pina Colada. The female bartenders at the pool were friendly and made the drinks properly.
