Wonder Wife and I were in Denver and in the mood for Chinese, and we happened to Yelp up this one. One word of warning - This is definitely a take-out place. But, the food is really good. There are only four tables and if it's cold outside, you're going to be miserable... you'll get hit with outside air every time the door opens (which was pretty much constant - they were pretty busy). Also, Wonder Wife and I tend to drink a lot when we eat, so we're accustomed to getting refills throughout the meal. Again, this is a take-out place, so you're going to be served canned soda. Of course, when you consider how much the average restaurant charges for their drinks with "free" refills, it's probably still less expensive to go through a couple of cans of soda here. The service was fast and friendly and the food was very good. And there was a LOT of food. When we ordered, here's what we said: "She'd like sesame chicken. I want the kung-pao shrimp. Also, let's do the crab won tons for an appetizer and a couple of egg rolls. Oh, and two Diet Cokes, please." Here's what they heard: "I know there's only two of us in front of you, but we have 17 people in a bus out in the parking lot and none of them have eaten in three days. Please make sure you give us enough food for all of them." I'm a pretty big guy, but Wonder Wife is a size "0". I'm not sure what that means, but I hear women say that like it's really small. Plus, if the size is literally "nothing", it kind of makes sense. She generally eats about five bites of her food so she can save room for two desserts. Imagine a 250lb guy sitting across from a 109lb woman at a table that is *literally* covered in gigantic plates of heaping food. There is not a single person that walked into that place that didn't think "Wow... that poor woman. She's really hot... she didn't have to settle for that pig." This place is amazing! The staff is so helpful and nice and the food was out of this world! We ordered the sesame tofu extra crispy with fried rice, the vegetable egg rolls, and tofu lo mein. The lo mein was loaded with veggies and packed with flavor, definitely my go to meal from now on. The sesame tofu was extra crispy as ordered but very sweet and not at all spicy. The egg rolls were more like springs rolls, kind of small but tasty nonetheless. Crispy on the outside and a little mushy on the inside. Nothing authentic, but if you want greasy noodles delivered fast so you can get back to putting pictures of perps and diagrams and red yarn on a cork board so you can solve the crime of the century with your misfit team of hard boiled detective buddies, this is the spot. A friend of ours recommended this place. We ordered the General Tso's chicken with fried rice, Vegetable Lo Mein, and Crab Cheese Wontons. The chicken was ok and not the best I've had. It was very bready and tough to chew in some places. Not bad but not the best I've had either. Their lo mein and wontons were delicious. It's a shame that they only deliver within a 3-mile radius. We live 4.5 miles away. I would eat here more if they partnered with Grubhub, Door Dash, or Uber Eats. I can't seem to order their food from any delivery service which is a bummer. read more

We found this place from neighbors on next door. We are from Chicago and missed out fav china town restaurant. This is great for American Chinese food. Reasonable priced for Chinese food and if you spend over $25 you receive free crab wonton or 3 egg rolls. We tried calling however couldn't get though so we drove and order and waited in car for our order. The place is clean and safe for social distancing and plex glass at ordering station it is hard to hear the order to be read back bc o social distancing. Everyone inside was wearing masks too. The lady taking our order was very nice and helpful.she also was so nice when she delivered our food out to the car in the rain had a wonderful smile and grateful for our order. We stuck to our basic fav first time visiting but did take the recommendation of trying the pork fried rice. It has a great Smokey flavor to the pork pieces and rice was not overly salty. The orange chicken was crispy and not overly saturated in sauce. The sauce w bright orange flavor w little heat from red pepper in sauce. Served w broccoli was perfectly steamed and white rice was not a glob but fluffy. Beef and broccoli was cooked perfect no chewy pieces and broccoli was perfectly steamed not soggy. The only sad part was egg rolls are more like deep fried spring rolls. But next time we will try their schewan green beans lots of rave reviews for those. There are a few parking spots in front of the establishment. We have ordered from here multiple times and they never forget anything and always answer the phone quickly. Today we decided to order take out for us and a few friends visiting. We went with the General's Tso Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Drunken Noodles w/ Beef, Tofu & Broccoli. They all come with a side of fried or white rice. If you order more than 30 dollars you also get a free side of crab rangoon. Everything was delicious, came packaged nearly and with support at the bottom of the bag. We always get a side of their chili oil since it's delicious. The sesame chicken had no sesame seeds and honestly might have been orange chicken instead, but it was pretty good so no real complaints! Let me begin by saying I really really like New China Cafe for three reasons: 1) the service is always very friendly 2) it's some of the best inexpensive, divey Chinese food in the area 3) delivery is usually pretty quick even on weekends. BUT! Here's why I cannot give them more than 3 stars: they won't take the time to create a simple website showing their menu or AT THE VERY LEAST upload an accurate menu with accurate prices on Yelp! One time I asked the young lady how was I supposed to know what was on the menu of they didn't have a menu posted anywhere and she replied, "Well you can go look at some pictures on Yelp maybe". Whut-tha-whut?! If you call to place an order, you have to spend unnecessary time on the phone asking about combo platters, options, etc. This is time that the restaurant could use to take OTHER phone orders or helping ppl in line at the restaurant. Instead, they're holding up the store line AND phone line (and yes it's busy often) to answer novel questions like, "What comes with a combination platter?" Or "Do you have egg foo young?" I had the combination plate with sweet and sour pork. It came with two pieces of fried shrimp, a chicken wing, fried rice, and a ton of pork. The sweet and sour sauce is packaged up separately so the meat doesn't get soggy. Because of the size of our order, they also tossed in two bags of cream cheese wontons. When I picked up my order, they kindly helped me carry the bags to my car. This food is so satisfying and comforting.
