I usually don't write a review on a location until after I have been to the location more than once. This is an exception to my rule. When I rate a location, I rate it based on several things. Quality of product, cleanliness of the location, friendliness of the staff (besides the owner), overall experience, and honesty of the establishment towards consumers. This particular review is based on my one visit and might consequentially change when I re-visit the establishment. Conceptually, the location looks like it was designed by the same interior designer of Craft & Common. Which came first, I do not know but the color scheme inside is identical. They both have that super clean look inside sort of like walking inside an Apple store after they re-did all the interiors of all their stores. It doesn't look like a traditional coffee shop and when you look at the equipment they have for brewing coffee, it feels like you are not in a coffee shop, a real coffee shop. Now, this is not what makes a coffee shop a true coffee shop. What makes a coffee shop a true coffee shop is a barista which they have none. Just because you serve coffee doesn't make you a barista. Starbucks serves coffee and they are not baristas. I ordered a simple "Cafe con Leche" and it looked and tasted no different than my 5-year-old making me a "Cafe con Leche." It was substantial but it was served on a sophisticated drinking glass instead of a coffee cup which is the proper way to serve it. In addition, my credit card was declined. I had plenty of money on my credit card. I even showed the cashier that I had plenty of money on the credit card and still, it was declined so I paid with a different credit card. As far as Wi-Fi, it is practically none existent. I did several speed tests and took out my sniffer to see what the issue was and there is a limiter in place. I think the owner realized what I was doing and she came and started to talk to me which was very nice of her. She told me that she was limited by the internet company available but what she did not know was the fact that I am extremely aware of what is available in the area. Then she sort of told me in her own words that they don't want people sitting at their tables for hours and that is understandable but now you have the issue that you are lying to your customers by making them believe that you have internet. My experience was definitely not a good one. Although I did not have a good first experience, I will say what I really enjoyed. The place looked super clean including the bathrooms. The caliber of customers was upscale and very professional. They have a menu full of food items which I did not try but will on my next visit. But as for my first experience, I can not recommend it. It might change after my next visit, but it is a no for me for now. read more

first time coming in for a little afternoon bite, and wow this place did not disappoint!! got a strawberry rose tea with vanilla sweetener and wow it's delicious. got the lemon pesto chicken panini and asked for the tomato aioli rather than the cilantro aioli and MAN OH MAN. this may be my new afternoon spot. a tad pricey but not absurd definitely for the area (my tea and sandwich were $23 before tip) very friendly service and a cute patio area! (one picnic table that could fit 6-8, 3 4tops, and 5 2tops) only open til 3 so make sure you're adding this to your afternoon pick-me-up spots!! will definitely be back! read more

I'm sorry but my time here was a mediocre experience at best. I think it is a cute little place but I did not like their food/drink. I tried the matcha tea and an earl grey but both were disappointing. The chicken avocado wrap was lackluster and the potato wedges had a thick coating of "seasoning" but still managed to remain mostly flavorless. I don't understand how that's even possible. The price for this was not worth it. You're paying for location and ambience, not necessarily a great quality meal. My boyfriend enjoyed a coffee here but that's about it! Seriously the cutest store. I want everything in here! And they have my FAVORITE matcha latte in Orlando. I may have an addiction. You can add lavender or vanilla to it, both are great options. They have happy hour every Thursday from 2-4pm. 1/2 off coffee and tea..including matcha lattes. They serve a variety of food from avocado toast to poke bowls. I have only tried the poke bowl which was a little steep in price for what you get, and it was just ok in taste. The toast looks amazing tho, and they have a deal for that on Tuesday. read more

The place looks cool and the wait staff is nice but it takes sooo long to get food. We've been here a few times and it is always the same 45 minutes or longer. How is a restaurant out of the ingredients that are in half the items on the menu? We will go back but only for drinks. Modern vibe coffee shop is how I'd best describe this place, its a mix of retail/coffee/freshness. If you are looking to just grab coffee and go they have a window to order and get your coffee quickly, but if you're looking to lounge and possibly browse the net while drinking coffee and grabbing a bite you also have that option....or if you have more time on you and want to get some shopping done you may also get that done there as well. I can't really judge based on their coffee taste or options since I'm a tea kinda gal so I usually order a chai tea wherever I go and I'd describe the tea there as pretty good but not extraordinary. My rating is more so on their Tuesday toast deals, environment of the place, and overall chic and modern vibe you simply get while sipping your drink and eating your toast there. Its a good spot for meeting up with a friend or simply getting some remote work done. I can't say it'll become my go to spot since I'm a wanderer but its a great option while in the area. read more

The coffee was *excellent*. Presentation/latte art left a little to be desired. Not sure why they do iced latte in a hot cup, a bit weird. Also stood at the counter about 5 mins waiting for one of them to take my order while they made a bunch of drinks/food - generally poor customer service. Really cute and trendy shop/cafe perfectly fitted for the Park Ave. locale it resides in. While I appreciated the aesthetics even in the bathroom, I didn't find the cafe conducive to working nor was the food really that tasty. It was a little too much effort, too much cost, and not the quality to match unfortunately. There isn't that many tables or places to sit, though there are some picnic tables outside but then you're next to the busy street. The coffee, food, products and gorgeous design treat every sense. I have been coming to this sweet little spot in Winter Park since it opened a few years ago. Whether it's for a friend or client meet up sipping a smooth oat milk mocha or a full family lunch tasting my usual tuna poke bowl fav- New General never disappoints. Welcome New General! Park Ave has seriously been needing this for a while. Located right off of New England next to Luma and the Bank of America is New General. The aesthetic is crisp and fresh with a minimal take on excellent quality items. There is a little sitting area where you can stay for a bit. Behind is literally a general store. You can get anything from hygiene products, cutlery, traditional medicines and remedies, to clothes and greeting cards. There is a full service coffee bar (they use Lineage) where you can caffeinate while you dream about owning all of the beautiful items around you. They also have many food options. I got the espresso rubbed roast beef sandwich. AMAZING. They also use other local businesses, which is amazing! Small business that supports other small businesses?! This place just opened so maybe they're still working things out... I'm giving Low stars for the food quality. Atmosphere is nice-clean coffeeshop with a section of items for sale. The items are overpriced so don't plan to go shopping there. It has outside seating available and a little inside. When I went for lunch, they gave me the food already packaged, but I'm not sure if this is standard for all times of the day. There were some healthy, protein packed light options available which I liked and the packaged items makes it an easy place to grab and go for lunch. I had the tuna-the combination and spice of the food I think would've been great together, but the beans were undercooked and the tuna was too chewy with a gooey top. Tried the roasted chicken/veggie soup and didn't like it. As for price, some items were reasonable and others very overpriced. I also had a honey iced latte, which I did like. One of my favorite places - fabulous "general store" part of the shop has very cool clothes (cotton) - some children' things and leather goods, bags, awesome awesome soul and body care products. Coffee and drinks can be ordered 'on the fly' at their walk up window- food too-and tables to sit and enjoy the breeze. You can sit inside as well. Ask for a menu as this shop owner has left you guessing about their food items; be sure to ask because the food is fantastic and fresh!!!! Needs a menu on the wall- something to alert you to the goodness they create here. Clean and bright minimal style with a feel of calm and fresh- definitely to be savored. My husband and I love coming here for a quick, healthy and yummy lunch... we love the polenta bolognese, the nutella toast, their kombucha, iced honey latte.... yes please!
