Both my adult daughter and I went in for our lashes and it was not good. Although the lashes looked fine, the glue stung our eyes for weeks every time they got wet. Also, to save time she added trios rather than singles in some areas. There were literally hard clumps of glue in my lashes and many of my natural lashes fell out as a result. She had an appointment come in one hour after mine and we were done a few minutes later. In my experience with other salons that take their time, it takes at least 90 minutes to do a good job. I debated leaving a review. I really don't like to talk about other people's business negatively. She does a good job. But she complained over and over about my eye moving as if I could control it. She blamed my eye moving on the reason I had lashes falling out after just a few days. Admittedly it may have had to do with other factors but I believe she shorted me on lashes bc she was over dealing with the moving. I say that bc she filled them in for me when i brought it to her attention and it was much fuller than the initial visit. When I went for this last time I let her know it was frustrating that she keeps mentioning my eye. When the service was over I noticed toward the inner eye area.. the right eye had missing lashes. I told her and she said no no it's fine they are there. I had already given her my card to charge when I noticed it. I wish I would have pressed the issue bc now ever time I look in the mirror I think about leaving this review. read more

Hi- I usually do not write reviews, because I usually give businesses the benefit of the doubt when I have bad experiences. I truly support small businesses so it is difficult for me to write this review. However, I wanted to note my experience because I think it is critical to point out situations that truly are unpleasant. I called the number listed and received a call back promptly which great customer service! However, after to telling her the eyelash style that I was looking to purchase she proceeded to ask me on the phone where I was located. When I told her the area I lived (which I was confused why she asked I thought she was making friendly conversation) she told me that we do not do "curly" lashes we only do straight lashes and I would need to send a picture. When I ended the call I thought to myself maybe she was level setting expectations regarding the results. But then I realized why would she need to know where I was located and then tell me that we don't do curly lashes. It really bothered me enough to write a review because I believe the circumstance surrounding this conversations was unappreciated. I politely called back because I wanted to know why she felt the need to ask where I was located but she denied that she asked me the question. I hope others read this review and realize that by no means am I attempting to hurt small businesses however I do think it is imperative to call out behavior that is unacceptable especially during a time when we need to more consciously aware and welcoming of all individuals. read more

Going to Kathy has been my monthly ritual for the past 2 years! She is thorough and makes sure you're happy with the end result. She knows exactly what eyelashes would frame your face best and takes her time. I look forward to every single appointment. Before coming to Kathy, I've been to other eyelash places and the eyelashes never lasted as long as the lashes I get from Kathy. Sometimes they can lasts up to 5-6 weeks and I have to change my appointment due to how well she puts them on! Speaking of appointments, Kathy is very flexible with her hours and will do her best to accommodate your schedule. I purchased a Groupon for a full set of eyelashes + 2-week refill after seeing the 5-star reviews here on Yelp, but was not impressed. I felt like my appointment was set up unprofessionally (she was at a doctor's appointment when I called to make an appointment?), and there was no flexibility; the days and hours differed from what was stated on Yelp and it was confusing. Making the follow-up appointment itself was so inflexible. I don't have a consistent work schedule, and so I asked her if it would be okay to make an appointment after I came back from a business trip (which would have been two days over two weeks from my first appointment), but she said that wasn't acceptable. In both the Groupon and appointment, there was no information about the material of the eyelashes, which was my fault for not asking beforehand. During the lash application, I think she might have messed up with the glue or maybe glued the lash on wrong? I'm not sure, but she was making tsking noises and that was freaking unsettling! In the end, the lashes turned out to be thicker and harder-quality than in my past experience (in which I had a choice of different material lashes to choose from), and my eyes just hurt from blinking. I'm not sure if it was because of the glue or the lashes, but I'm guessing it was a little bit of both. The glue was globbed on - when I tried to comb my eyelashes, the teeth of my eyelash comb kept getting stuck between the bottom of the lashes and pull at my eyelid...even pulling some of the lashes out. I wasn't sure whether or not I was even comfortable with redeeming the follow up appointment, but decided to give it a second chance based on the Yelp reviews and was going to base this review on the 2nd appointment. It was an efficient appointment and not as uncomfortable during the application as my first appointment, but after inspecting the work in my car, I noticed that some of the lashes were running a little haywire - they weren't going with the flow of my lashes, and there was one particular lash that was just totally...it was like "BOING!" away from the rest of the lashes, and I couldn't adjust or comb it back into the right direction. I ended up having to pull a couple stray lashes that were just glued in the wrong direction, and I don't really have any lashes to spare to pull out. It was a toss-up between 1 and 2 stars, but in the end, I'm basing 1 star on poor customer service and poor quality of work done based on my past experiences in eyelash extensioning. read more
