I have had a hard time finding good Chinese food in the area. This is probably the best I have been able to find so far. The portions are large and the price is reasonable. So far I have liked almost everything I've tried. I was disappointed with their sweet and sour pork though. I did knock off a star because the service can be lacking at times. read more

Bland bland bland. The food was tasteless and ended up just very one note. The only identifiable flavor in my kung po chicken was the peanuts and my husband's twice cooked pork was 99 percent cabbage and jalapenos with a couple of slivers of meat. We didn't even bother finishing it and threw the leftovers away. read more

I really enjoyed it. The lunch crowd was just me and a couple sitting at the booth next to me so no one there really. I didn't mind. I ordered the hot tea which was great and the Fish with Scallion & Ginger. I wasn't expecting the won tons with sauce as an appetizer (free with the meal, I think). The fish was perfectly cooked and the scallion and ginger were on point. (I could have used a touch more ginger but by the end of the meal, I was super happy with it just the way it was). The ice cream station was nice but loud. I guess you really can't hear it when there's a lot of people there but that day it was sort of annoying. Great ice cream though :) read more

Something's wrong when, out of two reviews, they've rec'd a bottom and top review. Of the two, I heartily agree w/ Darrel. I wouldn't even mention the decor but I must protest the earlier comment that it's "tastefully appointed". There's nothing inviting about it, particularly the "waiting" area. (Horizontal barn siding? More appropriate for a BBQ joint) It looks nothing like the photos on their FB page. We arrived at 6:30 the day of Scott Cherry's review. Big mistake?? Absolute chaos! It looks like Darrel was there same day, same time. I concur w/ ever word he said. We were not acknowledged when we walked in. And, according to Cherry's article/pictures, it was the owner working the desk. There were two other couples seated on benches. Out of total frustration we asked how long the wait would be. She said, "20 minutes", yet as Darrel said, the dining room wasn't all that full. When one couple was seated, we snagged their part of the bench. Another couple came in. And another. And part of a group of four. One guy finally said, "Don't you take our names or anything?" Yea, we were all wondering! Now get the action of this **very experienced** restauranteur: she fumbled for a piece of paper and proceeded to walk around taking names on the honor system. All the while we're watching people run in/out of the kitchen, through the waiting area, into the dining room. I just have to say here that *maybe* the problem is they (she) don't get the difference between running a restaurant vs a buffet. One couple walked out. There was lots of blue hair (free dessert bar?) And, oddly, a whole lot of people knew each other! Even the group of aerobics women who came for dinner in their shorts/tanks. I felt Mr. Cherry had misrepresented the PuPu Platter until I double checked his review. I'll try to add the picture I took of the pix in the newspaper to demonstrate. The beautiful platter in the paper was purportedly "for two". Hmmm. Platter for one. We ordered it anyway with that pix dancing in my head. You get one egg roll, one rib, one wonton which was tough and fillingless, one shrimp, one shrimptoast, one chicken skewer (see pix. I was so hungry I forgot to take pix until PuPu gone). I asked for duck sauce but the little packets arrived too late for PuPu. I had gone to wash my hands. The rest room was not clean by a leap. By 7:15 it had fairly cleared out. Hot food arrived! The General Tso was not spicy at all. The Kung Pao chicken w/ peanuts was okay, but I've had much better. I wanted hubby's broccoli but it was hard as a rock. We traded plates until hubby declared the Kung Pao was just too many vegetables. He was right. He wanted ice cream but couldn't eat it. Said it was flavored ice water. He repeatedly said Pei Wei was better. I can't argue with that, and their Kendall Jackson Chardonnay is $3 cheaper per very generous serving. I'd read the review, we were going to be 1/2 way there from our midtown home at an event. You can rest well assured we'll never drive back out there for this restaurant. read more

This is a great option for non buffet sit down Chinese. They have great combo options but if you get the regular size meal, the portions are huge. Pros: location, open on Sunday, and portions. Cons: not the traditional "Chinese food" menu. But so far the food that I have had has been great. I was referred here by 2 other people. read more

Not at all impressed with the food. Chicken lettuce wraps were no good and had chunks of fat included with the chicken pieces. Pork dumplings were so bad we threw away along with the chicken lettuce wraps. Fried rice and hot and sour soup were just OK. Would not ever return. read more

Just left this place about 7:30 on a Wednesday evening. They were about half full and we were never seated. It was total chaos at the front desk. When we arrived, we were told to stand and wait to be seated. Customers were coming out of the dining room asking for their food. All the staff were walking around briskly with a confused look on their face. Seven staff members walked by us and never spoke about finding a seat. When we walked out they never said a word. Service was great, can't say the same for my food. I ordered the Sesame Chicken. I found several pieces of gristle, this really ruined the meal, I left half the food on the plate. Prices are very reasonable, and the quantity of food was more than enough, of course if it's not edible who cares how much you get. Nothing was edible! If I could rate this lower than 1, I would! We ordered the pepper shrimp, shrimp toast, Singapore rice noodles (which had shrimp), and the crispy duck. The 3 shrimp dishes smelled foul, like spoiled seafood and old oil. On the crispy duck dish, they somehow managed to overcook everything except the uncooked layer of fat. And they served this expensive duck garnished with whole Pringles potato chips. This establishment was open for almost 38 years in their former location in the Fontana Shopping Center. Which tells you they did something really right there. They closed there earlier this year. Now they're back at a beautifully appointed location. I went to lunch there. Brand new decor tastefully appointed and inviting. The buffet is gone but personally I would not have gone if it was there. Buffets are an opportunity to overeat and I like to be able to take leftovers. Well there were plenty! I had the Sesame Chicken, my friend had the Hunan Beef. The lunch price was $7 but it was a dinner plus portion. The dinner price for same was $8. Yes you read correctly. That included a soup of three choices, an egg roll of three choices and a choice of three different rices. We both thought the food was delicious. On top of that there is a dessert station that likely changes. Yesterday there was a house made moist cake to top with strawberries and soft serve vanilla ice cream. Also a plate of cookies. Sunny our service was so attentive and accommodating. I gave it 5 stars because it has everything going for it especially for the value. read more
