The woman I'm dating put me on, and I'm glad she did because my steak bowl was SO good. Everything tasted fresh, the steak was seasoned just right, and all the toppings came together perfectly. I cleaned that bowl up! The place was packed, which usually tells you everything you need to know, but the line kept moving and the staff handled the rush really well. The prices were actually pretty reasonable too, especially for the amount of food you get. And can we talk about the drink machine? I definitely wasn't expecting all the different seltzer options. That was a nice little surprise and gave me something different from the usual soda choices. Safe to say CAVA has earned a new regular. Whenever I'm craving a salad or bowl but still want something filling and full of flavor, this is where I'll be. The highlight, surprisingly, was the coleslaw. The seasoning and the flavor were absolutely delicious. It brings a mellow flavor to the dish -- not tart, just soft and mild, the kind of thing that cuts right through the richness of the fried food and balances the plate. Happy hour starting at 11am on weekdays is a great deal. During my visit, the place wasn't busy, and sitting at the bar just felt very chill and relaxing. The playlist fit the vibe very well, too! The food was great -- definitely recommend the blackened grouper tacos, they were really good -- but Emma was honestly the best part of the visit. She fit right in with the group. She was super friendly, attentive, funny, and made us feel like we were regulars even though we weren't(but we'll definitely be changing that). She actually took the time to joke around with us and made the whole night feel a lot more personal instead of just taking our order and disappearing. Everything came out fast, tasted amazing and a really needed outing. I don't get out much but this experience was a breath of fresh air The whole experience was a Vibe. So I the get all the way home ready to eat my food to see that all three of my tacos were extremely brunt at this point I am furious having drove all the way back home and to now have to drive and waste unnecessary gas that I should not have had to is beyond ridiculous. It's called Turkish Kitchen and is located at 119 W Bloomingdale Ave, in Brandon, FL. I have eaten at Italian, German, Greek, Chinese, Indian and food from other cultures but not Turkish. I was not sure that the menu selections would be in keeping with my Mediterranean lifestyle but we were on our way to find out. We entered the restaurant where my friend was well known and were escorted to a reserved table. The spacious upscale restaurant already had a good crowd of luncheon diners. As I glanced at the menu selections I knew I would not be disappointed. I will quote a line from the menu. "From succulent kebabs to Turkish tea, our menu is a culinary journey you won't forget." The four page menu had selections that would appeal to the most discriminate customers. Our waitress Angel provided flawless customer service and suggestions. Our Hummus, a bowl of Lentil soup and Sarma, grape leaves stuffed with savory rice, herbs and olive oil were perfect appetizers. These were followed by a Mix Shish which consisted of Lamb, Beef and Chicken cooked to perfection. For desserts we chose Maras, a traditional Turkish ice cream with a rich chewy texture that left us wanting more. We will revisit this Turkish gem again and choose from the over fifty offerings on the menu.
