I recently Visited during their 2026 pizza making competition (an annual event that i was not aware of prior to this visit). 4 pizza pros, 4 pizza rookies going head to head to see who can make the best pie. 2 rounds; 1st round was who can use the secret ingredient (chorizo) the best, 2nd round was a free for all to make the most creative pie they can imagine (Wagyu cheeseburger pizza and Chilli dog pozza to name a few). V sold wristbands that gave access to a buffet of everything made for the competition. I personally suggest the gold band (not sure if they change it every year, but it was gold this year) which came with a complimentary drink and all day happy hour from side car. As always, the food was fresh, hot and did not disappoint. Live dj, great staff and fun atmosphere made the entire visit a memorable event for the family. Combine that with awesome food, a wing eating competition, amazing drinks, and the fact that part of the proceeds went towards the v4v foundation made this an amazing experience, definitely one i will be looking forward to attending next year.

Pizza arrived steaming hot and delicious. Staff members stopped by and brought us plates, asked if we wanted extra sauce or ranch - very nice for a place that doesn't do table service. 4 large screen televisions in the dining area had College Football games playing so we got to cheer on our Gators while we waited for pizza. Charred just right, too - not underdone at all and not burnt in the least. Goldilocks crust. Perfect amount of sauce that wasn't overly sweet or salty, the flavor of the quality tomatoes really shined through. Very tasty cheese and it wasn't piled on heavy-handedly, either. Alex, the owner/pizzaiolo came out and talked to us a good long while and he was the nicest guy ever. His kids were helping him run the joint that day and they were the best kids - like smart little adults! This place rocks and I think even in NYC it would be able to hold its own, admirably. The place is small with limited seating in a storefront but the ideas and flavors are huge! I ordered a small mixed vegetable pizza (minus the olives ) and a very inviting red velvet cupcake! When I saw my small pie, my eyes and mouth were so excited! The cheese was all that and they weren't stingy with the spinach, mushrooms, and mixed bell pepper chunks! It was delicious! The red velvet cupcake had a tempting cream cheese center that called my name, and I answered! It was not super sweet, a huge concern of mine, but just the right balance. I went in the late afternoon, so the cake, itself, was a little dry but the cream cheese center really helped it out. I will definitely be back for more on the menu!

We ordered a large pepperoni pizza plus 2 slices of their margarita grandma pizza. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed the atmosphere. The line was long and consistent but it moved quickly. The pepperoni pizza was very, very greasy. I'm okay with some grease but this was way more than normal to the point my plate had a huge puddle of grease. I had to soak it up with napkins just to keep my plate usable. It also didn't have a whole lot of flavor which I was surprised by. I really liked the grandma slice and wished we ordered a whole pizza instead of just a couple slices. Not sure we would give them another try despite enjoying the grandma slices.

We ordered one with pepperoni, sausage and banana peppers. While we waited for that, we started with an Antipasto salad. The salad was good, just basic. Soon the star of the show came out. Hot and steaming. The deep dish was very good. A bit watery though. Maybe they didn't dry off the banana peppers. Still, it was delicious. A 10" pizza cut into quarters. 1 slice was more than enough for a person. Inside is cute with a very artistic flare. Not a lot of tables. Probably the one thing they can do is put up some sun shades. Late afternoon, early evening, that sun is blasting pretty hard. It was toasting my back pretty well. Give Mamas a try for some very good Chicago pizza.
