My favorite dish is the Mac and cheese. They also have a good grilled chicken Salad and house ranch.

A fresher, more expensive take on the upscale sandwich shop, a la Panera of old. The restaurant is clean and the staff was super friendly, offering menu suggestions and smiling even when I had to ask for side options - twice! I ordered a half Newks Q (chicken, bacon and cheese on a French roll) with a Caesar salad- it was delicious, though I thought it odd that the sandwich was way smaller than my "side" salad. My husband had the half shrimp po boy with a half order of Pimiento and Bacon Mac 'n cheese. The pasta was excellent - if we come back, I will probably order that and that alone- but boiled shrimp on a po boy seemed odd( we are used to fried). With one drink, our total was $21 for two people. Overall, everything was fresh and delicious, but we wish the portions were a little bigger and the prices a little lower. read more

Really great place for sandwiches, soups, salads, and pizzas. I've been there a few times now and not yet been disappointed. I highly recommend their pimento cheese sandwich - basically just an extremely yummy grilled cheese! Had a five cheese pizza the last time...also very good. (Are you sensing a trend here with me and menu items where cheese is the main ingredient??) ;-) I'm also always shocked at how quick they are...even when they are packed. Plus they have Splenda-sweetened tea along with the regular good ole sugar kind. And nice cups that you can take home with you and reuse. This restaurant is definitely one of the best! The food is great and so is the service. One of the dishes I recommend is the five cheese pizza and for people that like soup, I recommend their chicken noodle. Their customer service is really good and the wait for the food takes about 10-15 minutes depending on what you order. It's a nice environment, near convenient stores. The restaurant it's self is very clean and when someone leaves the restaurant with their dishes on the table, they clean up the tables quickly so that you can get the best service you can get. It's a great casual meal but if you want something fancy, try somewhere else. read more

Usually excellent service and great food. Today there was a server who was coughing into her hands and wiping her nose on the back of her hand! I brought it to the managers attention. The manager never addressed the situation. We all watched as the girl picked up a tray of food without washing her hands. A few minutes later same girl who was so sick she could barely talk brought out our food! Gross!! read more

My family comes here pretty much every Monday. We love Newks so much. Ever since it opened we have been very loyal. I've gone through stages of certain entrees that are my favorite, everything is so good. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is usually great. Highly recommended! read more

Although the soups can be hotter in my opinion, I love this place!! They have different soups throughout the week, and the pizza's and salads are wonderful! It is sad to vow never to eat at Newks again. It was my favorite salad place in Tallahassee but today was too much to tolerate. I waited with everyone else in the fully masked, socially distanced line to give my order to the unmasked cashier. In the back I could see several unmasked cooks preparing the food. One was wearing her masked hooked only on one ear and precariously bouncing over food that was being prepared. Gone are the extras such as roasted garlic, peppers and croutons. My Southern Salad arrived and while tasty, was a very small portion in comparison to salads that I normally have at Newks. The men's room was a disaster with water all over the floor to slip on and no paper towels. I followed a staff member cleaning the table tops and dried off my table. The magazine I brought to read glued itself to the sticky table top and my arms stuck to the table. Whatever happened to Newks rest squarely on management. I won't be back. read more

Hands down, my favorite lunch spot in Tallahassee!! I work off of N Monroe just a few miles north of the interstate and I can go to Village Square Newk's during my lunch break with no problems at all. They're quick, tasty and attentive. Lunch on a Saturday. Two very nice hot sandwiches. One was a loaded Italian. Loaded means includes a mufaletta relish in it. Good sandwich. Plenty of meat. Satisfying. Other was a Q with chicken and bacon and cheese. Also satisfying and a little different due to cheese. Not at all crowded which might account for fairly quiet and pleasant inside eating. Awesome! My office chose Newk's as our lunch for our office meeting, so with that said I needed to place about 18-20 individual orders. I called ahead the day in advance and was advised to just fax over all of my orders so they could see exactly what I needed. I told them I needed it ready by 12:15pm the following day. I called and confirmed they got my order, and the girl who answered was very helpful and friendly. I got to the restaurant a little early to make sure everything was running smoothly. It was during their busy lunch peak, but my very large order was ready right on time, even a few minutes early. Every individual order was nicely packed and clearly labeled with everyone's name so it was easy dividing up everyone's food. All in all I'm incredibly pleased with their service, and how easy it was to organize my large meeting. I highly recommend! read more

This is a great lunch spot in Tallahassee. Especially if you're trying to meet somebody for work or to catch up, they have a great selection of salads, soups, sandwiches, and even pizza! My go-to is always a salad, either the Newk's Favorite or the Ultimate, but every once in a while I'll get one of the pizzas. Be sure to stop by the toppings bar for your salads and pizzas. This place gets pretty packed but the great thing is people are always leaving and there's plenty of seating. It's pretty reasonably priced so you can't go wrong with eating at Newk's. read more

Love Newks. Have visited in other cities. Customer service at this location today was awful. Ordered at 1:00, and at 1:20, mentioned to one of the servers that it appeared we had been misplaced in the shuffle. gave ticket number, and nothing. Asked for money back at 1:25. Manager was aloof, no apology, no ownership. Gotta give them kudos for turning out a lot of food to all the other customers, but we were clearly a lost ticket....the lack of accepting responsibility was just sad. Their online ordering is pointless. Twice I have placed an online order and twice it wasn't submitted to be made until I got there. So, just call instead of using online order. First time dining at Newks...very good!! Cobb salad was huge and delicious...loved the green onions on the salad. Had a side of mac n cheese...yummy! Last...strawberry cake was comparable to a cake made by my mom (don't tell her). Will be back to try some other menu items soon. read more

Newks is a quality lunch stop with excellent salads..soups..and sandwiches..You order when you walk in at the counter and then one of the Employees brings your food to your table; so it's a step up from fast food but not quite a restaurant if that makes any sense..while you are waiting for your food you can indulge in the Condiment Bar which has oils..vinegars..hot sauces..breadsticks..peppers..olives..etc..Some items I recommend to order are The Club Sandwich..Chicken Salad and The Italian which come with one side of your choosing...and then depending which day you are there they have 5 Daily Soups with 3 that change daily and they all are normally pretty good but The Chicken Tortilla and The Black Bean are my favorites...as for the salads a Small can feed 2 people and a Large could feed a Small Caribbean Country...it's hilarious when you see the look on a Customers Face when they realize that Washtub of lettuce is coming to their table...I will say avoid coming here between 11:30 and 1:00 unless you have a lot of time because this placed is packed with all The Wives of Killearn and Golden Eagle and various people on their lunch break..Only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is even though I always enjoy the food here I always have a little bit of Buyer's Remorse/Sticker Shock after eating here..kind of like after I bought my first 100 Dollar Concert Ticket(Eagles 1994) and 100+ Pair of Sneakers(Air Jordan's 1993)...A Sandwich with a Side and a Drink will run you 12 Dollars and add in a cup of soup and your looking at 15+....that just seems a little high to me for a lunch at a casual place like Newks read more

We hit this place on our way through town. Our usual strategy is to stop at the Starbucks right off 95, then try to guess at where to grab something quick. We saw Newk's on Yelp and decided to take a chance. I'm really glad we did. The food was very good, the staff extremely friendly (the manager came to our table to tell us that they overcharged us and would refund the mistake), and very kid-friendly. We will definitely stop again on our next time through town.....and we might even hit the Newk's near our home. read more

Food is good and I've used them for catering in multiple cities BUT today will be my LAST time. The website says you can pick up catering at 10:30 which should NOT be an option. When I walked in at 10:30 today I was told they had just started working on my large order! I've given them 3 chances and NONE of my orders were on time but were all 15-20min LATE. I've gone a few times and thought 'meh' with my salad choices, but the atmosphere is great! Big area and lots of freebie condiments and such in the center which is a bonus. Also kept very clean and tidy. The last time I went I got the half pesto chicken sandwich and cup of mac and cheese and surprisingly I wish I'd ditched the mac and cheese and gotten a full pesto chicken sandwich it was SO good! The sauce on it, the pesto, the peppers... all blended together DELICIOUSLY and I was sad eating the mac and cheese without any more sandwich. Not what to expect when arrived. The Applebees seems to be closed so we came here. Place was packed at noon. Quick to order at the counter. Their specialty seems to be salads, sandwiches and pizza.
