Ron was very nice and went out of his way to help me understand how everything worked. I found the facility to be clean and accommodating. Absolutely choose Newport Float, here's why: -they have legitimate industrial grade isolation tank equipment, meaning safe and clean sessions EVERY time. This is because they use industrial class filters, UV disinfection, and chemical monitoring after every session to ensure cleanliness and consistency. This is not a bath at home, it is far more complicated and much larger scale. These systems need to be engineered to be suitable for public use. If you want he'll show you the utilty room filled with stainless steel, circuit breakers, and industrial controllers designed by Float Labs. As a mechanical engineer myself in water treatment, if you don't see this equipment in your float provider, don't get in it. -Ron has thought through every detail in his setup. You/Me the floater have been considered. I tried to send the owner this message, thinking that if I were the owner, I would want to know- but I didn't receive a response. I did not ask for a refund or anything in return, but it would have been nice to get a response back. I visit Newport on at least a monthly basis. I can't say enough about this place and their dedication to a quality experience, before getting into details, if you have never done a float, do yourself a favor and try at least once. I come here partly to help with some chronic backpain and to medidate. When you first walk into their rooms you are presented with almost a vault type door which seals the light and sound of the tank. Each room is also appointed with a shower, towel, earplugs, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. After you shower (I take a pretty long hot one to get relaxed) you go right into the tank. Lay right down and you are floating, in complete darkness, almost silent. For some, this will be really really intense, alone with your thoughts, at time so quiet and focus you can hear bodily sounds, blood flowing, etc. At this point all gravity is off you and any joint soreness you may have, muscle fatigue, is likely drifting away. I go through a pretty quick 10 minute meditation and then just fall asleep until they tell me my time is over. Wkare up, shower off, walk out feeling amazing. read more

This is a very cool and interesting therapy to try. It is one of those things that you can't really describe you just have to try for yourself. The place itself is very nice and clean, and they provide you with everything once your session is done. Very nice rainfall shower and all the toiletries. More importantly, I was impressed by the ownership. I forget his name, but he was very passionate about his investment and belief in this specific therapy. He wasn't overly aggressive and too pushy trying to communicate how good his product was, but he let us as customers decide what was best for us after we tried it. His employees followed suit and were very chill and respectful as well. I have been going to Newport Float Therapy for over a year now and not only do they always have friendly service and very clean rooms and water but one of the nicest owners I have ever met. Floating is just an amazing way to quite down the "monkey" mind and let go of your weekly stresses while at the same time energizing your body (great for muscle soreness) and softening/moisturizing your skin. I will usually do 90 Minute float once or twice a month, and it has worked so well on my muscle aches for my workouts that I have canceled my Massage Envy membership and now save myself almost $100 per month! This was my second float experience, and it was a great one. Ian was helpful in guiding me through the process & preparation. The tanks are huge (actually the size of a small room - you can stand all the way up inside and actually walk around - not that you'd need to), and clean. Exceeded my expectations. I went a few months back, and I am booking a 4 month membership today. I went as the first appointment on a Saturday morning so there was no noise from any persons anywhere. I would highly recommend an early or late appointment to reduce chances of noises distracting you. It takes about 5 or 6 minutes to get yourself settled and to stop all movements before you truly get that weightless feeling, but after that it is near perfect. I'm going to bring my mind-wave neuro headset (it's a wireless EEG device) to record my brainwaves next time and compare them to my recordings made while meditating. I am expecting to see much higher Alpha-Theta signals. First time floater. This experience was like nothing I've ever been a part of. The entire experience from start to finish was simple and effective. If you're like me and have no previous meditation experience, you may find it a bit difficult to get into a complete deep solace. But just count your breathing and try your best. Don't be nervous if this is your first time. Having the small orb light was helpful but after a while I turned it off as it added to the relaxation. I have been going to NFT for over three years. They have had there issues throughout that time with consistency of staff and policies but there has definitely been a serious downturn in customer service lately. My uncle was just put in hospice and I had to cancel my float with a few hours notice. I have never cancelled a float before with less than 24 hours notice. The reason I booked the float is I was told that my float I paid for would expire after 35 days which was today. So rather than having compassion I was told by Dustin that it was store policy to charge me a $35 cancellation fee. So not only did my float expire but on top of that I was charged the fee. Wouldn't you think that being such a loyal customer, checking in, referring people, telling my resort guests about NFT should warrant some empathy for my situation to waive this fee one time for me? I was angry and tried to express this to Dustin but he hung up on me after telling me sarcastically to have a blessed day. Floating should feel like a respite from the stresses of life not add to them. This place has utterly gone to crap!!! Switching to Awaken Float Lounge in Orange, I would suggest you do the same. This was a very cool experience; the employee working there was super chill, friendly, and professional. It was a busy night and he did a great job of chatting with the customers, managing the rooms, and maintaining a clean store all at the same time.The tanks are very well maintained and water just the right temperature. I have floated twice and used the PandoraStar machine on two occasions. Here are my experiences with the floats: The first time was amazing, I went into a deep meditative state, had some profound visionary experiences. That was when I went in the morning. The second time was at night after yoga and a deep tissue massage and it was pretty intense. I had some strange visions and felt as though my ego was having a hard time letting go. Eventually I did and fell into this weightless, timeless space until it was time to get up. The PandoraStar was lots of fun. It's like being inside of a kaleidoscope, but better. read more

I had a very good float experience here. I started with the light therapy session for 30 minutes followed by a 60 minute float. Both sessions were excellent and very calming. It was my first time with the light therapy and I recommend starting with this before doing your float session. It will give you a chance to relax and get into a meditative state so that when you start your float you will be in the right state of mind. The first couple minutes of the lights feel intense, but if you just go with it, very quickly it becomes calming and very pleasant. The float tank was a very high quality experience. I've tried a couple other places before which had the cheap plastic pods. This place has the best tanks that are available and the difference is huge. First of all it is extremely quiet inside which is very important if you don't want to be constantly distracted by outside noise. It is an "isolation" tank after all. Second, it was completely dark. You want all of your senses deprived for a great experience. It was also nice to see all of the high end filtration that goes into keeping things clean. Highly recommended! Ok I'm not trying to be cool by going against the grain here, cuz everyone seems to have had an amazing transcendental experience here and highly recommend it, but I honestly thought it was...just meh. Don't get me wrong, the customer service was top notch and the staff are super nice, but my actual experience was kinda underwhelming. The Pandorastar session was awesome for the first 5 minutes, seeing different colors and kaleidoscope images, but then the next 25min I started feeling like I was gonna have a seizure. I also kept getting distracted since the headphones are not noice cancelling so I could hear the staff walking around and talking. But who am I to complain, it was free. The actual float experience was actually a bit of a let down. I dig meditation and mindfulness, so had some moderately high expectations on the journey my sensory deprived mind was about to take me. But none of that happened. I tried meditating for a while, then fell asleep a little and caught myself snoring, so then I tried lucid dreaming but couldn't go back to sleep, then I started bumping into the walls of the chamber, and the air is really thick and kinda hard to breath so that was distracting. Then I got really bored so I started singing songs in my head. Then I had to keep fighting the urge to leave and go play cell phone games while I waited for my wife. What a generation we are huh? Can't even relax for 90 minutes without going back to our cell phones. Anyway, the music cue that the session was over finally came on so I hopped out and got in the shower (reminds me of a hospital shower but with nice soap and shampoo) and was waiting to hear the awesome stories of different dimensions my wife visited on her experience, but she said she actually got out of the tank halfway through cuz she couldn't breath and felt nauseous the whole time. Pro tip: don't eat before laying in a confined dark hot tub for 90min. TL,DR awesome staff, nice price, clean place without any of the usual spa frills n thrills so you get what you pay for, but don't expect too much from the experience besides laying in a dark salty warm puddle. read more

Wow! This was a very unique experience on many levels. I would definitely recommend that everyone experience this, at least one time in their life. My Experience: I came with a friend and upon walking in, there was an instant aroma of "cleanliness", and considering the water is filtered yet recycled, this immediately put us at ease. The gentleman who greeted us (I'm assuming is the owner) was very calm, yet detailed, and confident regarding his equipment and recommendations. He advised us to take a rinse off shower prior to the float and another afterward to wash off the salts. He showed us how to use the tank, gave us some tips and left us to embark on a very interesting journey. I undressed, showered, said a prayer and made a decision that this was going to be nothing less than an amazing experience. I stepped in, sat down and got acquainted with what would be my new space for the next 90 minutes. I left the door cracked for the first 5-10 minutes, and once I chose to trust the process and let go of any fears, I closed the door. Pros: The water was warmer than I thought it would be, as was the tank, so wet skin becoming chilled was not an issue. My body temperature stayed regulated and relaxation was almost immediate. The foam ring offered adequate head support, so much so, that I was able to let go completely and become weightless. Cons: I appreciated the earplugs, as I have very sensitive ears, however I was having issues keeping them in my ears which became a major distraction for me, so I just kept them out. I will purchase my own and bring them with me next time to avoid this issue. The water has a very high salt content so any areas of your body that may be freshly shaven, new tattoos or cuts or scrapes will sting like a b*tch! He told me afterward that they have Vaseline to protect these areas. Also your skin and hair will be very dry afterward, although my friend said she had conditioner in her shower, I did not, nor did I see moisturizer or lotion, so make sure you bring your own! Summary: I am on a conscious mission to discover my Higher Self and I do feel that this is a possible doorway. I have only floated one time, and from the advice I received, it gets better, deeper & more intense with every float session. I purchased the 3 floats for $99 special so I will update my review after the next float. Happy floating people! read more
