As a New Yorker, I admit I've been spoiled by the deluge of kosher eateries in the Big Apple. But let me tell you, Next Door is giving the East Coast a run for its Shekels. The steaks here are so tender, they practically melt in your mouth. It's like they've been massaged by angels--or, at the very least, an extremely diligent Shochet. The Arayes, oh, the Arayes! They are the true stars of the menu. These little pockets of joy are stuffed with such succulent, spiced meat that they could make even the most devout vegan reconsider. It's as if each bite whispers softly in your ear, "Shalom, my friend, welcome home." The ambiance of Next Door is a breath of fresh air in the often drab and dreary world of kosher restaurants. The Worst Dining Experience - Not Recommended! The only reason we chose this place was because it's kosher, but that's where the positives end. We were a group of four and specifically asked for a table on the side. Instead, they sat us right by the door, so every time someone came in or out, we were hit with a cold draft. The hostess said she'd move us when a table became available--then left five minutes later. When I asked the waitress, she just said, "That's the hostess's responsibility." Ten tables were cleared and still nothing for us. Without asking, they brought bottled water and kept refilling it--each bottle was $18! Total money trap. The pasta the waitress recommended was dry, and the steaks came smothered in gravy without warning--no option to have it on the side. The desserts? All just cream--no cakes, no variety, just disappointing. No one checked in on us, no one noticed untouched plates, and when we did complain, the waitress didn't even respond. We told them it was a birthday and asked for a surprise--she came out flat, forgot the flourish, then went back and completely ruined the moment. And despite all of this, we still left a tip. The bill was over $700 before gratuity--completely undeserved. Never again. read more

Apparently the owner and staff of this place are racist and hate Persian clients. Our group of 16 unfortunately chose this place for friend's birthday and they played all types of middle eastern music but when we asked them to play a Persian music they refused and said the owner doesn't allow any Persian music to be played. After speaking to the managers and asking why, they started physically attacking me and making a scene in front of the restaurant for no reason. Very rude and unprofessional staff and I highly recommend LA Persian community not to give them any business since they hate us so much. This restaurant is an embarrassment for kosher restaurant. Our steak was overcooked and dry, while the other side of the table had a perfect one. Again inconsistent. We ordered the shawarma and it was raw chicken!! The manager was kind and removed it from our bill. The worst part, the outside vendors coming in to sell flowers and light up balloons. It felt very Vegas and for a $150 per person dinner in LA, I don't want to deal with solicitors
