    Mac and cheese
    Gwen W.

Very disappointing. Ordered wings platter with yams and mac and cheese. We were told after waiting for about 20 minutes that we had to wait for the mac and cheese to come out of the oven; ended up waiting about 45 minutes for the order. The wings were not thoroughly fried, the Mac and cheese was very runny and seasoned with too much garlic powder. The yams were dry, stringy and had a strange taste--maybe the type of butter used??? This was my second visit and thought I'd give it another try but the first visit was a very similar experience.

So far I've had the wings, salmon, catfish, crispy chicken sandwich, greens, string beans, and the mac & cheese. The food has been amazing! My favorites for now are the Cajun salmon, the Mac & cheese, and the sweet potato pie. Another standout side is the rice pilaf, well done, which a lot of places mess up sometimes. The service here is also great. It's a family owned business, and it shows in the love that they bring to their quality of food and customer service. Definitely a must try! - Coach E

Where can you go and get a full meal at 12oclock in the morning on a Saturday night?? We came in hungry and were so happy to find out that the kitchen didn't close until 130am!! And they had late night happy hour drink deals too!! We sat at the bar and watched the rest of the NBA game. There were a few other couples at the bar and there was music playing but it wasn't too loud. Delvin was our waiter/bartender. He told us a few jokes and was overall very nice. He made us a chocolate cake shot that was delicious. Next phase did not disappoint.

I'm a regular customer at Next Phase, and I truly enjoy the food and atmosphere, which is why I keep coming back. However, I've noticed that my orders are consistently wrong -- either the server doesn't ring it up correctly, or the cook prepares it incorrectly. It's been happening pretty often lately, and honestly, it's disappointing because I order from here a lot. For now, I'm going to take a break from ordering until this issue improves. I really hope the team can get this worked out, because I'd love to come back and support you all again soon.

Quick and yummy! I had jury duty and walked across the street to this restaurant for lunch. It didn't disappoint! The fish was fried to perfection and the Mac and cheese was very delicious. Inside is spacious with plenty of seats and WiFi for me to get a little work done. Everyone was friendly and gave suggestions on best sellers. This will be my go to place when I have jury duty or I'm in the area :)

I think I have to try this place at a later hour. When I arrived it was pretty empty but it was early afternoon on a Monday so I'll give them some grace. I see a lot of potential. Now for the food, I ordered a Catfish Platter with string beans and Mac & Cheese. The catfish was fried nicely, no complaints. The Mac & cheese was flavorful but it wasn't my favorite and the string beans were good but they didn't taste super fresh. Overall the plate itself was 6.5/10. I want to attribute this to the time of day because it seems that most people go during later hours so I will definitely try it again and they have events to offer. I'll be back.

Stopped in during jury duty lunch, and it was delicious. Candy was greeting everyone and extremely pleasant. Pretty quiet as everyone was enjoying their food. Definitely coming back whenever I'm in the area.

The food is mid. The catfish was cut perfectly the greens lat flavor. The mac & cheese was kind of stiff, the yams were kinda hard still and no like sauce or anything in them. I probably won't go back maybe for the catfish.

The honey old bay wings were tasty. Along with the macaroni. The collard greens were a tad bit salty. The customer service was great. Food was hot and fresh. The restaurant was small but inviting. Nice location. Quality food I would recommend

OMG I had to show the before and after because I think that should say all it needs to be said but I'll indulge. This is a cute spot that I've only had drinks at because it's not far from my destination. Tonight I decided to try some food and was able to use a discount for my first order! The menu isn't large and frankly with meals like this it doesn't need to be. This food was definitely made with LOVE! The fish was seasoned amazingly legit just right. The Mac had its own flavor and style which was a change from usual Mac's I've had in this area but I welcomed it because being honest the best Mac I've had here was at Chick-fil-A. Yes, that's how bad the ones I've tried have been. All that to say YUMMM. And finally the greens! I am not a fan of their cut because I do love stems but smaller ones would make this better than the Mac. Otherwise this was cooked very well. I'm not sure if the sauce in the cup but I used it on my fish and it seemed like that was the right idea. Normally I'm not a bread with meals eater but I need another piece LOL. This cornbread almost gave dessert and I'm glad I didn't order any. Overall I am happy to make this a spot I frequent monthly to try something new each time.

Fried catfish, double Mac and cheese and corn bread. Salmon, on a bed of rice, green beans, Mac and cheese

This place has catfish on their menu, but the fish is actually swai. I called the restaurant to tell them that I know the difference between swai and catfish. I explained my concerns to the person who answered the telephone and she said, "ok". As if to say we have your money now, so what. I asked to speak to a manager and of course he was busy. If you want catfish, I suggest you go elsewhere.

I went there on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday with friends and family. The place reminds me of like a cool jazz lounge you might find tucked away in New York City somewhere. Very nostalgic and I loved every minute of it. Our waitress was very accommodating and attentive. The man at the front door who was either the owner or the manager was very nice. Our food was beyond amazing. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered, and the drinks were very, very, very strong! and if you don't drink, alcohol, the mocktails were yummy. The band performing that night was Cafe Red and they were perfection, they even gave me a birthday shout out. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for some good soul food and some nice live jazz or R&B. definitely get the sweet potato pie and my recommendation is to ask them to heat it up (it is served cold out of the refrigerator), thank me later.

This was my second visit, and it definitely lived up to the first. On my first stop, I had the ham and Swiss panini with a cookie butter latte. The sandwich was grilled perfectly, crispy on the outside, melty and satisfying inside, and the latte was absolutely delicious. I was honestly bummed to learn the cookie butter latte was seasonal because it deserves a permanent spot on the menu. This time around, I tried the breakfast panini and added ham, along with an iced sugar cookie latte (another seasonal drink that was so good). The food was pleasant and comforting, and once again, the drink really stole the show. Overall, Llamas Corner nails the combo of great atmosphere, thoughtful food, and creative drinks. There are two kiosks where you order. I got the french toast matcha latte which was ready quickly. The matcha wasn't the best quality or wasn't prepared properly, imo. It tasted very soapy and the french toast flavor wasn't very noticeable. I've definitely had much better matcha in Baltimore and wouldn't recommend Llamas' if you're particular about your matcha. Maybe their coffee is better? I also noticed a section on the menu labeled "gluten free" but the only option listed was a bag of chips. Would be nice to see some other offerings for GF folks.
