Really cute space! I truly do love the ambience. However, I've had two shrimp rice bowls from two places. I go here for convenience when i sometimes see one - I'm gluten free and can't do soy sauce. Anyway, there's maybe 5-6 shrimp (heads up, that it's skin on) and it's super dry. The ratio of shrimp and veggies to rice is super off. There's lots of rice. The sauces that come with this one doesn't seem to fit. I'd love to try the other things...because there's so many Nguyen kitchens around... but i haven't been too impressed yet

Tell me where else you can get an açaí bowl and a banh mi at 1 AM ? yeah, I'll wait. Exactly. This spot is undefeated. Everything they serve hits, but the açaí bowls are next-level. They stack them high and let you build your own without nickel and diming you for toppings. You can really load it up to its full potential. I love that you can mix bases (two flavors!) and the price difference between a small and medium is just a couple bucks might as well go for the medium. The large might be too much for me,but hey do you! It's one of my favorite late-night spots when I want something healthy but still satisfying. The staff is always nice and quick I've never had to wait long except that one time I ordered noodles (which were actually bomb by the way). But if you're here for the açaí bowls you're in for a treat. The banh mi also holds its own fresh, flavorful, and totally worth it. Overall, this place is a hidden gem that keeps me coming back for my late-night fix.

If I'm being completely honest, I never noticed this restaurant, as it's almost tucked into the plaza. I absolutely love their bahn mi, I tried there chicken and If im being honest i would definitely choose the pork bahn-mi, I felt that the flavor on the chicken was little over whelming for myself. Over all their food is super delicious and made with care. I wish I could say the same about the staff, I usually call in my order, and I've had no issues with that at all, but when picking up, one of the girls was a bit rude and did not seem like she wanted to help. Although this does not impact the flavor / taste of the food, that's the only thing I would change.

I heard this place is great ! wanted to try for myself but unfortunately waited 30 minutes for two sliders, turns out my order wasn't placed to the cook or was given to another order. Bad first impression, front workers should be more aware, rather than playing rock paper scissors

First timer! Very busy plaza but found parking right away. Clean restaurant and restroom. Dined in. Food came out quick and beautifully plated. Tasty dishes. A little pricey for the bowls, but we enjoyed our experience anyway.

First time trying this spot out, got a house chicken sandwich and Cajun garlic fries they where friendly cool spot to chill and enjoy your food very relaxing

I was so sad when they closed the Chino location.. I happened to be in the area to stop by this one for a quick lunch. Food is great but, my all time favorite item that use to be on the menu is no longer offered. I'm not sure if I will be coming back to any of their locations after this. I remember I use to order different proteins with different dishes, mixed and matched. A specific protein for their sandwich wouldn't be on the protein list for their garlic noodles and I would request it. They never have an issue writing it in their special request. Garlic Chicken Breast is no longer on their menu.. Chicken was juicy, saucy and plenty of garlic flavor. It is paired with sautéed mushroom. It was chef's kiss.. Imagine that over top of garlic noodles with special aioli sauce, garlic lover's dream. Garlic Noodles (with House Chicken)- just didn't hit the same. Chicken was dry.. not much flavor. Only thing that saved this was their special aioli sauce, of course I asked for extras! Bulgogi Short Rib Steak (Rice Bowl)- tender and flavorful. Solid rice bowl. Cajun Garlic Fries - wasn't as crispy as I'd like. More soggy than crispy.

Had to make a quick stop in the shopping mall for the Tesla supercharger, so we did a little walk and we stumbled upon this little spot. Wanted a quick bite and refresher, so I got their popcorn chicken, extra spicy and crispy!! Gotta love the crunch! Just missing some xtra coriander leaves. Their coffee is strong and did the job for a Sunday midday pick me up. Staff were nice and very considerate in asking me if I needed any sauces to go with my popcorn chicken. What accompanied the chicken was some sort of jalapeño sauce, I believe it was their house sauce. It was a bit tangy and spicy, it was a nice touch with the chicken. However, would like to come back again and check out their entrees!

I've been here several times from the afternoon or late night and their signature sandwiches and rice bowls weren't that good, it was always way too salty. It was either salty or the portion size was never consistent. The only menu item that really stayed consistent was their Crawfish Pasta. Their crawfish pasta is slightly sweet and a bit of spice which is great. Back then, their crawfish pasta had a good amount of sauce but it seems with inflation, it'll be less sauce or it'll depend on their cook. To me, their service wasn't all that welcoming and more of a take-out experience. The ambiance inside is just ok, their tables are weirdly always sticky which is why I never dine-in. I recommend their Specialty items on their menu if anything.

2/5 - Man oh man... The girl at the front was nice. I asked for her favorite item and ordered that along with a Thai tea. The tea was okay, not overly sweet, which I didn't mind. It's very casual. You pick up your order at the front and stack trays over the trash bins when you're done. The space was clean, with tables lined up against the wall. I got the garlic noodles with bulgogi short rib steak, and honestly, I was disappointed. The so-called "short rib steak" was not short rib or steak. It looked like thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin. For the price, I would've rather eaten somewhere else. The bulgogi flavor was basic, sweet, didn't have any depth... think of it as if you're eating a sweet version of Yoshinoya's beef, except you know what you signed up for when eating there. The garlic noodles lacked any real garlic flavor... or flavor in general. They also gave me two sauces: one green & mildly spicy, the other looked like teriyaki (it didn't rlly taste like it IMO). I couldn't figure it out, and neither paired well with the noodles or the meat. If you're someone who won't leave your bubble to go try good Asian food down in Gardena, K-town, OC, or Pasadena, then sure, go at it. Side note: They also sell açaí bowls, but I'm not sure if that's a separate business since it had its own name, even though the same staff was handling both. Not sure if it was good (I purchased it for someone else), but they had a lot of cool varieties of topping and flavors.

As a fast food Asian fusion spot this was a pleasant surprise! It's a small spot at the end of a row of small spots in a mall. This is a busy parking lot but it's not difficult to find parking, there's a lot of in and out movement. The golden baos are FIRE! It's a ground pork filled deep fried bun. Delicately sweet and savory. The NK Wings good? They're very lightly breaded and crispy. The light green sauce is tangy and has quite a bit of a kick on the backside. The garlic noodles were tasty but over cooked and a little soft for me. The shrimps are also lightly breaded and fried. I'm a shell eater, I like fried shrimps with the shells on. These seemed like they might have been pre-cooked and sitting as they weren't crispy enough. The Cajun fries were crisped well! I like that, they were a bit salty and could have used a little more Cajun spice. The eggrolls were decent, a little more meat would be nice.

We ordered from here by chance because it was the only thing open late that wasn't "fast food" and I'm SO happy that we did. It's DELICIOUS and reasonably priced. We ordered the garlic noodles with jumbo shrimp, the crispy wings, and the garlic Cajun fries. ALL amazing. The chicken juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fries perfectly spiced. You can tell that the shrimp is good quality and the noodles full of flavor. Can't wait to order from here again! read more

I placed a phone order and was told my order would be ready in 7 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later only to find out my order was not entered and my food wasn't ready. Needless to say, I was a bit aggravated because I was on a tight schedule but it's fine. Headed next door to Flame Broiler and got me a chicken veggie bowl... which is a better and healthier choice anyway. read more

The food is nothing to write home about. The service is worth writing to the owners about. The attitude of the staff is basically "Mr. Customer, why are you here?!". Part of it is lack of training. Part of it is the current labor shortage. The labor shortage problem will be solved once the government stops paying people to not work and more automation comes about. The training problem is at the company level. There are plenty of other options around so no need to go back to this place. read more

i have been getting takeout from here over the course of the past few months and i am so glad i heard of this place! so far, ive tried their bulgogi rice, bulgogi sandwich, egg rolls, and green milk tea. the bulgolgi rice is generous in terms of its portion so it's definitely worth what you pay! (: it comes with rice, lettuce, bulgogi beef, pickled vegetables, etc. there's also a side of green sauce that comes in small containers and it's really yummy! there's a little bit of a spicy taste (it might depend, since i have a pretty low spice tolerance) but it's nothing too intense !! the bulgogi sandwich is good as well and is really filling too. i really enjoy their green milk tea, as it's a nice balance between sweet and that green tea taste. the sweetness level is not overwhelming and it's not all that bitter either, definitely the drink that i go for when i get food from here (: nguyens kitchen is definitely one of my favorite places to eat from. they've taken quite an interesting take on their food, and i look forward to trying their other items. i would definitely recommend this place to others! It was my first time trying Nguyen's Kitchen! My boyfriend and I were just passing through the city and I was so hungry. I decided to check Yelp and thankfully, we stumbled upon this place. It was such a great choice and I can't wait to be back. We ordered the Garlic Noodles w/ the Bulgogi Short Rib Steak, Popcorn Chicken and a Vietnamese Ice Coffee. Wow their ice coffee is so delicious!! After that, I came back to the register while we waited for the food and I ordered a Thai Tea and it was yummy as well. Nguyen's Kitchen is also a little bit of a drive for me, so I went ahead and ordered another Vietnamese Ice Coffee to save for the next day LOL. But anyways, the noodles were super hot and fresh!! So tasty and it really satisfied my hunger. The bulgogi short rib was perfect w/ the garlic noodles and it was a pretty large portion so I was able to share with my boyfriend. The person working at the register was nice as well and the food was ready pretty fast! Overall a pleasant experience:-) read more

First time trying this place! It's been on my list of new spots to try out for the week.I made a phone order for take out today, & I was surprised to hear how cheap everything was in comparison to other places with the amount of food I got. I got the Crawfish noodles, Garlic noodles added Shrimp, Bulgogi Steak Sandwich, Popcorn chicken, Peach Lychee tea, & Cucumber Limeade. They also added in 2 free eggrolls for me. We ordered: 1 Chicken Bowl+Shrimp, 1 Garlic Noodles w/Bulgogi Short Rib & 1 order of wings. EXTREMELY satisfied with our food! You can really taste the Vietnamese authenticity in the chicken and sauce they give, & that reminded me of home. The shrimp was de-lish! Only giving 4 stars bc I have had better garlic noodles (noodles seemed a little over cooked & maybe more garlic? lol), but nonetheless less, they were still very tasty! Wow I was pleasantly surprised! The photos on Yelp are very accurate. The food was amazing. I got the pork sandwich and it was packed full of flavor and had a nice little crunch to it. The garlic fries were good but I think I'd try the garlic noodles next time. The egg rolls were amazing as well. Absolutely satisfied with this place. Some friends and I were looking for a new place to eat and try something and we were not let down whatsoever. First time being and I'm blown away the food is delicious and perfect portions. I ordered two of the Garlic Noodles with Tiger Shrimp one Short Rib Bahn Mi Sandwiches one order of the NK Sliders one order of Golden Bao two orders of the Egg Rolls and one order of the Cajun Garlic Fries. My family and I are stuff with leftovers for tomorrow. If I could change one thing it would be less oñions on the sliders. FYI we still finished the sliders because it's just that good. Been here 3 times already, really like their super crispy egg rolls! I've tried all the appetizers and enjoyed them all. The short rib sub is by far my favorite, the green sauce is a must! My son love the garlic noodles and get a difference protein when we order. They offer delivery and are open late, definitely a keeper for us. read more

When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. Nguyen's Kitchen in South Gate provides Asian-fusion eats with flavorful dishes in a relaxed fast-casual dining environment. I visited for a fast meal during lunchtime and found the wide selection combined with quick service to be impressive. The popcorn chicken delivered excellent crunch and flavorful seasoning which became even better when paired with the house jalapeño sauce. The garlic noodles with bulgogi beef provided deep savory flavors but the dish felt excessively greasy. Still, very satisfying. The Vietnamese iced coffee delivered a robust flavor that served as an effective afternoon energy boost. The restaurant charges higher prices than expected for the amount of food served but delivers quality dishes. The establishment maintains a clean modern design which makes it suitable for grabbing a quick meal while running errands. The restaurant serves excellent fast food but serves smaller portions than expected. I will return to taste additional menu items starting with sandwiches and crawfish pasta. read more

I tried the Amazon Bowl based on the employee's recommendation--they said it was the most popular, and I can see why. I'm usually not a huge fan of açaí, but this one was surprisingly good! It was creamy, smooth, and not overly tart or sour like some others I've had. The bowl came with a generous amount of toppings, although mostly just banana and strawberry. That was fine, but I think it could have been even better with a wider variety of fruit. The crunchy topping was a standout though--super tasty and added a great texture. We shared the small portion between two people and it was just enough. The service was friendly and the ambiance was really nice. One thing to note: this place shares the space with a savory kitchen.
