I should've read the reviews before I went in here. Honestly it seems like anytime you find a place that only has three or 3 1/2 stars it's just not worth it. My personal experience was I ordered the steamed dumplings and also the pan fried. First off the steamed dumplings were much smaller than what I'm used to getting anywhere else. Also the noodle texture was a mixture of just barely lukewarm and also a little bit tough and rubbery. A.k.a. I'm gonna have to say not fresh. The pan sautéed was same issue - it just didn't seem fresh to me. Also the mixture of ingredients on the inside just didn't have that fresh, flavor-popping taste that you would expect from a "dumpling house." Have you ever been to Chinatown in Vegas? This is nowhere near that quality. Also you can kind of tell by the low end condiment section. A good noodle/bao/dumpling house is gonna have soy sauce and vinegar on the table. I walked in 5 mins before 5 pm without knowing that they are opened at 5. They are nice and let me wait inside. I was able to have time to decide what to order. This is the hardest decision of the day. The steamed sui mai dumplings are delicious. They are on the dry side if you are used to the juicy ones like me, but I don't mind. The steamed shrimp toast dumplings are very tasty. The miso butter sauce is not my thing so I dipped them in my ponzu sauce. Pork wonton soup has a very salty broth. We came early on a Friday as we had heard there could be big crowds and long waits. There were neither so we ordered and sat outside with the big fireball setting behind the hospital burning our eyes! If they could put up some type of light screen it would really help. We shared some spicy pork dumplings and chicken xiao long bao. For both they were undercooked with chewy dough and not hot enough. The spicy ones had more flavor due to the spicy sauce btu the xiao long bao were way too dry, not as flavorful and the top pleated section was very doughy and undercooked. For a place with dumpling in their name you would think they would get that right. The bowls were better. The Korean Fried Chicken was crispy, moist and flavorful. A bit too much rice for the amount of chicken and sauce but all in all a pleasant dish. The Mongolian Beef was nothing like it should have been, First of all the meat was weird slices of beef - nothing thin, not stir fried, almost dry and then to insult to that injury the sauce on top was the exact same sweet Korean sauce that was on the Korean Fried Chicken. Totally wrong and I would never order that again. Get your culinary act together on that! One of us ordered the Mongolian Beef with crispy bao buns. They are basically fried and ok but the idea of a nice bao is that it is light, fluffy and a contrast to the flavorful filling. By frying them you get too much going on in my opinion. They need to work on the authenticity of their dishes and execution on the dumplings given their name! Enjoyed the experience here. You get a lot of food in each meal. For the adults it's 3 bao buns plus a side which is more than enough with their size. Kids had 2 bao buns. Each of those are stuffed with a lot of meat. Everyone was very friendly - and all the food tasted great. This is more set up for groups of 2 or 4 - only one table can accommodate more. Unfortunately, both of these dumplings were inconsistent. One piece would be warm and then the next piece would be cold. I've already been to Ni Hao Bao FIVE times and it's technically not even open yet. I'm en route for sixth visit, which should tell you everything you need to know. I've only ordered dumplings because there is no reason to branch out when they are that good. They're all handmade! The shu mai and pork dumplings are my favorites, packed with flavor and paired with a complimentary sauce that I usually like to add extra chili oil to. I have also tried the Thai tea with boba and it hits the spot. Parking is easy, prices and portions are fair, service is great, and the interior is welcoming - I love the little booths and love that they have a dog-friendly patio. This has very quickly become a regular stop for me. The staff is excellent. I spoke with Darrell, the chef and co-owner, and his excitement and pride in the food and the neighborhood are obvious and contagious. Every other staff member we have interacted with has been friendly, welcoming, and on point. Great food backed by great people. Definitely check this place out! I wasn't sure what to expect going to Ni Hao Bao but I'm 100% coming back when I'm in the area. It's an order-at-the-counter type place and it feels very open with lots of windows and plenty of seating mostly outside. When you order you get a number and they bring the food to your table, it was so busy we jumped in line right away. We had the Hong Kong spicy wontons, Shu Mai dumplings, and shrimp toast dumplings. My friend's favorite was the shrimp toast and mine was the spicy wontons. We also ordered Thai iced tea with boba, it was so tasty my friend finished hers before we even got our food! I was a little confused when I first looked at the menu because the first thing you see is pick your protein and then pick rice noodles or vegetables. If you don't look closely you might miss that they actually have dumplings. It just felt like an odd setup for a place that calls itself a dumpling house. I tried a variety of dumplings along with the edamame and ordered a beer. The dumplings were okay but pretty starchy. It seemed like the filling to wrapper ratio was a bit light which made them feel heavier than they should. The edamame was not great and a little mushy. I also never received the beer I ordered. It was also overly saucy with sauce that tasted like it came straight from a jar but maybe would have paired well with a side of rice to soak it up. The bowls at Yogis Grill are better tasting and cheaper. The chicken dumplings were practically inedible. They were the worst dumplings I've ever eaten in my life, and I've been to Asia multiple times. The wrappers (though steamed) were thick and incredibly hard, and the inside was chunky and bland. Service was really good, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and helpful especially as this was my first time year. The menu looks good, several offerings on traditional food and wonton soup. I had the Hongkong style wonton soup but I found it a little bit too salty as I try to keep my sodium intake low. The pork wonton was very tasty and delicious and plentiful. I also had the wonton chips on the side but was disappointed that it did not come with a sweet and sour sauce. They were also over fried. I hate that I don't like this place. The staff were great, the setting is modern contemporary, clean and neat but the food really let it down. They call themselves a dumpling house but their dumplings were just not good. The filling was generic on my Shanghai chicken dumplings but the skins were way too thick. The dumplings themselves are tiny and with the thickness of the skin it was just a very disappointing bite. My friend got a teriyaki chicken rice bowl and for the price I would've expected more chicken and the rice was mushy. I also got a couple of Korean fried chicken baos and if it wasn't for the sauce that they provided on the side, it would have no flavor at all. My husband and I had dinner at Ni Hao Bao Dumpling House tonight, and I left wanting to tell everyone about it. This family-owned restaurant is run by Darryl and Nancy, and you can feel the passion they've poured into every detail. Darryl spent more than 20 years as an Executive Chef with P.F. Chang's before opening his own restaurant, and his talent shines through in the food. Ni Hao Bao is much more than a dumpling house. Their concept is Asian street food made just for you, with plenty of fresh and customizable options. Of course, the dumplings are a highlight, but there's so much more to explore on the menu. What really surprised me was the atmosphere. While it's a fast-casual restaurant, it doesn't feel like one. The décor is beautiful, the music is perfect, and it feels like the ideal spot for a casual weeknight date night or a relaxed dinner with family and friends. Most importantly, this is a local family raising three children while building a dream. They are genuinely wonderful people serving delicious food, and I would love to see our community support them.
