We visited this restaurant as a party of five, and while the food itself tasted good, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Throughout the entire meal, there was virtually no table service. Whenever we needed something, we had to either get it ourselves or wait around hoping to catch a server coming out from the kitchen area, since customers were not allowed to enter the staff area. It was frustrating to constantly search for assistance during what should have been an enjoyable family dinner. To make matters worse, an 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill without any prior notice. We did not see any signage, menu disclosure, or verbal explanation informing customers of this mandatory charge. When we questioned it, the server responded very firmly that "this is just how our restaurant operates" and told us to speak with the owner or manager. However, we were informed that the owner was not present and that no one knew when the manager would arrive. We were asked to wait indefinitely, which was simply not feasible for our family. Most concerning of all, later that evening, three of the adults in our group developed diarrhea, and one of the children complained of stomach discomfort. While we cannot definitively determine the cause, the timing was troubling enough that we felt it important to mention. We rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience left us feeling frustrated and disappointed. Good food alone cannot compensate for poor customer service, lack of transparency regarding additional charges, and concerns about food safety. We hope management takes these issues seriously and makes improvements for future customers. It was also a little cramp feeling and things didn't feel very clean. The food was standard, but if you like spicy mala, theirs is very spicy. The snack section included chicken feet, edamame, seaweed, and a variety of dessert soups, just to name a few. Not sure if there are other items in rotation.
