While quickly searching thru Yelp for a quick bite - found this gem on a whim. The restaurant has a cool fish tank, and a fun vibe when you enter. The staff is very friendly, they checked up on us periodically, and made sure we were enjoying our meal. The pad se ew honestly was the highlight for me, the noodles had a soft chewy texture, and didn't stick together. The green curry was very flavorful, and rich. We also ordered a traditional papaya salad, which was something new for me (had pieces of crab in its shell, which gave it extra saltiness), and we also had the shrimp spring roll with a peanut sauce - which was quite big compared to some of the ones I've tried at other restaurants. This is the best Thai restaurant I ever had in Chesapeake! I'm Thai and I've been looking for an authentic (at least close to) Thai food. I've tried different places and I gave up. Until I've found this place. It's a new owner, they took over this place recently ( at least these couple months) I'm extremely happy and couldn't feel more home! I go there at least once a week. They have weekly special dish and I'm excited to see that! The chef is literally a REAL chef! He was a chef for 5-star hotel and got some nice experiences, he tried to serve as a Thai fusion influence but still authentic tasted. The food is AMAZING! Took my husband here for the first time because I saw the 5-star reviews. We ordered chicken Pad Thai, Fish balls and Garlic fried chicken. Unfortunately Pad Thai was a little dry and lacked flavor, Garlic chicken was overcooked, meat was hard to chew and tasted more like a General Tso chicken. Fish balls were good. The food and service here was incredible!! I have three young, semi-picky eaters and they devoured EVERYTHING and kept asking for more. This was the most authentic Thai we've had in Hampton roads. The chef and new owner had impressive credentials, and we could taste the care he put into his cooking. What a great spot! The ambiance was pleasant with some touches of traditional decor. We came for dinner tonight and decided to order a variety of dishes, all of which were tasty and fresh. My favorite was the shrimp pad Thai and the seafood combination drunken noodles. We didn't have room for dessert so we decided to take home the mango sticky rice. The owners stopped by to ask how we enjoyed the food and share a bit of their story, they were very sweet. We will definitely be returning soon read more

The food is so good, I come here once a week and the food tastes so good and stays consistent. The red curry is really good, as well as the Tum Yum fried rice. We saw that it has great reviews, and now we know why. The food and service are both EXCELLENT!!!! I got the pad Thai, and my husband got the drunken noodles. Both are delicious!! This was my first, and last visit. Nice people, but the food was so-so at best. My to go order was prepared so quickly (less than 4 minutes) that should have been my first clue. I ordered medium spicey pad se ew. It was not spicey at all. After three bites, I bit into something hard, it was a small piece of plastic. As I sifted through the food, there were also 3 pieces of egg shell. Not only was it disappointing, but I also began to think it was not fresh or possibly hit the floor. A hidden gem! I had the Tom Yum Fried Rice, which is a fusion of your traditional Chinese fried rice with Thai Tom Yum Goong (Soup). It has all the flavors (sour, spicy) of the soup combined with the hardiness of the rice and egg. I added shrimp to mine, and the chef did not skimp on the shrimp! When you order, you can choose a spiciness level of 1 to 5. I chose 3, but next time, I am going to kick it up a notch. The food was presented very well and it was a generous portion. After they sold the location a couple of different places tried to make a go of it. Unfortunately it's not the best location. But finally we have a good Thai restaurant in here again. We lived in Thailand for many years and Nice Thai is the only place in Hampton Roads where we are able to find good traditional/regional offerings (Kao Soi, Yen Ta Fo, Boat Noodles, Kao Mun Gai, etc.).
