Not because it was dressed, and not leftover brine from the onions (which do not taste pickled, just softened) but because of ???? A double order of chicken is 5 oz. The squeeze of lime is you getting lime wedge which I guess is ok. And the avocado was hard and tasteless. For a salad that ended up being $22, this is a travesty. A Public Health Hazard Enforced by Incompetence The lack of basic sanitary protocols at this Sweetgreen location is a stomach-churning disgrace. For a brand that markets "wellness," the execution behind the counter is nothing short of a biohazard. I witnessed an employee use the exact same gloved hands to tap the greasy payment screen, scratch her own face, handle raw food, and manipulate the plastic menu helper. She then dropped that menu helper directly onto the floor, picked it right back up, and placed it onto the food counter where active bowls were being assembled. When I intervened to explain the basic mechanics of cross-contamination, she just stared back at me completely blank and cross-eyed. What is the actual vetting process at this company? Is an IQ under 80 a strict requirement for employment here? The operational logistics are an absolute joke. There were eight distinct people wandering around the kitchen doing absolutely nothing, while one solitary incompetent was left to poorly construct the plates. Management was entirely nonexistent. Nobody was monitoring the line, nobody was enforcing health codes, and it was blindingly obvious that not a single person on that shift gave a shit about human health. I am genuinely praying I do not contract a severe foodborne disease from this place. This goes far beyond abysmal customer service. This is willful negligence. I am never returning, and I am filing a formal complaint with the Department of Health first thing in the morning to have this shithole inspected and shut down. Can't believe it's taken me so long to try sweetgreen! Company ordered some salads from here for an event so my review is only for the food. I tried the vegan salad options: shroomami and hummus crunch. Shroomami (4/5): Tasty! I really liked the cooked mushrooms and tofu - they were seasoned well. I thought the salad would taste more fresh if there was tomato and/or lemon in it. The Miso Sesame Ginger had a nice tangy flavor but I wish there was more of it!! Hummus Crunch (4.5/5): Also pretty good! Very fresh and flavorful. The salad had been sitting for some time before I ate it so the breadcrumbs got soggy by then. Overall, my first time at sweetgreen was a good one. I would have liked for the salads to have included more dressing and I wish that there was a vegetarian salad and not just vegan/meat. Oh man where to begin with this one... starting to think Sweetgreen is just all hype. There is absolutely nothing good or unique about their caramelized garlic steak plate. The portions are small with half the entire plate being rice, steak way overcooked, and way too much carbs with all that rice. I also got an order of the rosemary focaccia, and some pesto vinaigrette on the side for dipping... I love, love, love pesto sauce! And the focaccia was cooked perfectly, I heated it for 30 seconds at home and it was warm and fluffy inside, aromatic with the infused herbs, and so good with that pesto! :D Staff was attentive and there was hardly a wait for service (the short line moved quickly, with several employees behind the counter helping customers). The restaurant was clean, modern, and bright with a bit of indoor seating as well as an outdoor patio with umbrellas over the tables, great for shade on sunny days. I find myself craving the warm, savory, with a hint of sweet Shroomami bowl. After four years, I decided to try them out again. Boy, has much changed. Friday night was packed with a good amount of customers but the line moved fast. Why? Because at least four employees were working the line and register. Hot wild rice medley, juicy sautéed portobello mushrooms, roasted tofu, chopped almonds, red cabbage, heap of kale, chilled cucumber, sprigs of basil, and finished off with miso sesame ginger dressing-- amazing! I ordered herb roasted chicken when DoorDashing a few days later and prefer the original white meat. The herb roasted variety is dark meat and having that on salad is kind of weird to me. To each their own! Recently tried the crispy rice treat with honey date caramel and OMG so good. A bit of a sticky dessert but a lovely alternative to the marshmallow variety.
