I found Nick's Air through Yelp. I chose them because they are a local independent shop and they had a number of positive reviews. I needed help replacing a failing AC capacitor and I wanted the other components of my system checked out as well. Chris is the technician who helped me- very friendly and professional. I let him know ahead of time that I had a sleeping baby in the house and he took extra precaution to be quiet. Chris worked quickly and had the job done in 20 minutes. He also helped educate me along the way about the different components of my system. In the end, I ended up paying much less than I expected and I genuinely felt like Chris cared about making sure my family was comfortable. The whole experience really couldn't have gone any better. I rarely write reviews for anyone, and this one is late in coming as I just found out that thy did not do the job that I requested of them. Back in January I paid Nick's Air to perform a system check on the A/C and Furnace, as the Home inspection came back questionable. Nick's Air Charged for the service. Today I needed to have my A/C checked again as the unit is constantly running and the technician told me that no one has opened the unit prior to him looking at it. The coil shown oil in the pan. The original Home Inspection was correct the unit needed repair or replacement and Nick's just came out and did nothing but take my money.... I would not use them. read more

After being jacked around and overcharged by A Number One Air and Baker Brothers, I decided to call an independent service man for my home ac. Knowing that my older units just needed refrigerant would keep them running for another year, I located Nick on Yelp. What a great guy! Nick answers his own phone, has 4 service techs, and volunteered to meet me after lunch to add freon to my two AC units. This man shows up on time, knows his business, explained everything he was doing, and charged a very fair price to service both units. My AC is blowing cold air and we are ready for the hot summer that is just around the corner. I would highly recommend Nick and his team. Nick runs an honest business, doesn't try to up sell you parts that are not needed, and provided same day service! Our A/C stopped working in the middle of the night on the weekend. Nick sent someone out on a Sunday (no extra charge for the weekend which I thought was really fair) The problem was remedies quickly and we were warned to clean our outside condensers before more problems arose. I had a different AC company come out to service both AC units last September and they didn't check the drain line at all. Found out it was clogged when it began to flood in our attic We texted Nick's after reading good reviews, and they got their tech Easton out that day to fix it. We're super grateful he not only fixed our clogged AC drain and cleaned up the mess, he then checked our second drain to make sure it wasn't clogged as well. If I could give them zero stars I would. Tried to scam me. I called Nick's Air on 11/13 based on the reviews on Yelp as my heater was not working. An employee came out the same day to look at my heater. I was happy someone came out so quickly. The employee told me the heat exchanger was out and wanted $1500 to repair but recommended a new system instead of the repair. I told him my brother was an HVAC technician and I needed to call him (my brother lives 5 hours away or I would have had him come out). After speaking to my brother I declined any service and the technician left without even putting my heating unit back together. My brother came into town this week and looked at my heater (I had been using a space heater in the meantime). He determined 1. that wires had been cut in the unit and 2. it was not a heat exchange problem but a circuit board. He bought a circuit board for $90 and the heater is working again. Not sure if it is the company or just the employee I dealt with but I do not appreciate someone lying to me and trying to rip me off just to sell a new unit. I tried to call and speak to the owner but was given the run around. read more

Nick is the best. We bought a complete AC system from him about two years ago. It's been perfect ever since installation. We put our house on the market to sell and needed warranty info for new buyers. I called Nick and he emailed all the information for the buyers right away. My last few HVAC service calls with other companies have been a fail. In fact, the last service call I had with a local (unnamed) HVAC company wanted to sell me a new outdoor AC unit for $16K. It's hard to find vendors that are completely transparent and put the customers before profits. Nick (Owner), Chris (Manager), and their crew really care about their customers, and went above and beyond to fix my furnace to keep my family warm. My furnace stopped working last Thursday evening. After researching companies online I found Nick's and called and spoke to Nick. Chris, the Manager, came out and found that my flame sensor was corroded and cleaned it for me. He took the time to show me how to clean it myself in the future. Chris also warned me that based on how old my unit was and based on several other things (the previous owner of the house had replaced the circuit boards several times and left the old ones on top of the furnace), that I would probably need to replace it in a few more years. I already suspected that it wouldn't last much longer. Unfortunately, the furnace went out again that Friday night. I called Nick back on Saturday and told him to replace the furnace. They didn't charge me for their previous visit and were able to come out Saturday afternoon to install the new furnace. They also did not charge me any weekend or overtime fee for coming on Saturday. My condensation pump was not working properly and led to a leak in my ceiling. I had originally called a different AC repair company to fix it. They claimed to have "fixed" my issue, but said I needed to spend over $350 on a new part in the next month. On top of that, the next morning it was clear it wasn't handled properly when my ceiling continued to drip. I did some more research and found Nick online and gave him a call. He was incredibly kind, patient, and gave me an honest opinion on what the issue could be. He prioritized my call and had someone out to my home within the hour. The tech, Easton, was very knowledgeable and explained the issue, how he was fixing it, and what to look for to ensure this didn't happen again. After he was done, he told me that my system looked great and there was no reason to spend any money on new parts. Within 5 minutes of talking to Nick the owner on a Saturday, I received a call from his top AC service Technician. He arrived in 40 within minutes of the call for service. and in approximately fifteen minutes of assessing the system the problem was identified and fixed. He explained all details in plain English and made sure we understood everything. The Technician was an obvious expert, very personable, with amazing customer service. I had just bought a new house in McKinney, and didn't recognize the brand of condensor, or understand the nest c-wire error message. Thankfully, Nick verified the condensors were a sub-brand of Carrier, and resolved the c-wire issue, as part of a full system check across my two-story 3725 square foot house, just charging a standard call-out fee when most would have charged for "fixes". Spoke with several companies trying to get estimates for adding freon to my AC system. I was put on hold constantly with no response, assaulted by HVAC salesmen trying to sell me a "plan" to bring the as yet unknown final price down, and simply hung up on numerous times. Finally, I called Nicks Air. He have me a good price, didn't try to sell me anything else, and was very honest with me in regards to my system. OK, I can't believe I'm actually reliving this nearly 7 months later, but I'm only going to say this one more time. The first time my wife called, someone named Nick, pleasantly said that he was unable to send anyone out because he was short-handed. Apparently he had staff who were away on some type of military duty. My wife said that she understood and hung up. In 2019, we thought we'd try again. When she called, the guy said that he was very busy and that he was in a situation where he was unable to get information from us at that moment (he was working in someone's attic) and would she send the basic info to him - address and phone number - as well as what the problem was that we were having. She did. I assumed she sent an email - OK, MAYBE IT WASN'T EMAIL! - you can do some amazing things these days with your phone. The point is that she sent the requested info and we didn't hear back. That would now be the second time we tried, unsuccessfully, to use Nick's. We went with someone else. The point of all of this is that we had a list of HVAC guys. Nick's was one of them. (I just compared the phone numbers and, yes, this is the same Nick's). We tried unsuccessfully to hook up for a second time. A shame. I was expecting better customer service. Yelp is a place where you rate your experience. I did. Now, I'm playing mental arm wrestling with a business that won't accept that it couldn't or wouldn't come thru for us - sending two messages (or rather, comments - the first one deleted) denying that *our* experience ever happened. So, again, you get another 1 star rating. Unfortunate things do happen. It was handled poorly, but I do hope you well in your future endeavors. read more
