Love Nick's restaurants. Pasadena is the first one I ever went to and loved everything about it. First time here at Manhattan Beach and won't be the last for sure. I enjoyed my dining experience here with my family earlier tonight The service was impeccable. From the moment we walked in til we left everyone was friendly and attentive. The cocktails were delicious so was the food. The asparagus fries were amazing and we devoured it. The Thai chicken salad was my absolute favorite and the bistro salad was amazing.y kids loved their meals and my mom was thrilled with her steak and baked potato dish. The cioppino was ok a bit too soupy for my husband, not like the ones he's used to. The flavors were good he said but not the consistency. The ambience here is great. Both indoor and outdoor seating is beautiful and pleasant. There is a parking lot right next to it so it's easy to park and walk to the restaurant. Every thing was perfection. We celebrated our 24 yr anniversary and ordered the spicy tuna rolls, bacon deviled eggs, clam chowder, san francisco ciopinno and the pan seared chilean sea bass. My fiancé contracted the flu the night before Valentine's Day and was dead dog sick the morning of Valentine's Day. Had an open table reservation for 12:30, so I called as soon as Nick's opened at 11 to explain the situation and that we didn't want to get anyone else sick even though there was an apparent $20 cancellation fee on open table. After speaking to the hostess and a manager they refused to waive the $20 cancellation fee. I understand policy, but were we supposed to come in there and get people sick so we didn't get charged? I want to point out that we dine here often, but I will not be coming back as this is ticky tack sh**. Do better, Nicks. There are plenty of other options in the South Bay and you are now out of the rotation. read more

Well unfortunately the service really hurt our dining experience at Nick's. There was about 6 of us celebrating our friends birthday and it took about 30-45 minutes for each round of drinks we ordered, we could barely order two drinks because of this. And honestly it didn't really make sense when they had three bartenders working on a Tuesday night. It was full and we were seated outside but it doesn't take over 30 minutes to make martinis... Our service at our table was slightly better but felt like with how much our meal cost we were not checked on enough or asking if want more water, drinks, etc. The deviled eggs are a fan favorite for a reason. They are so delicious! As well as the Caesar salad I'm still drooling. But my steak was okay it wasn't worth the $38 dollars. The outside seating is also pretty nice you could somewhat see the lovely sunset. Overall Nick's may be a DoorDash place for me but honestly not worth the expensive bill for what we ordered and the service we had. read more

First off, I love Nick's! But this location was not my favorite. The food was great; we ordered shrimp tortillas, devil eggs, calamari, asparagus, and the bistro plate. The drinks weren't that good. It was a slow night and the server was horrible! From start to beginning she seemed annoyed! I recommend coming to Nick's but not this location. I recommend the one on 2nd. We enjoyed a wonderful evening and meal at Nick's on Saturday evening. The cioppino is one of our favorite dishes as is the salmon. The food is delicious and consistent, the butter cake is sinful! The hosts are friendly and warm, the manager, Andrew, takes care of patrons dining at Nick's, and Vanessa A, is a fabulous waitperson! Vanessa truly made our most recent experience even that more wonderful. She's kind, checked in with us on how we were enjoying our meal, and continued to follow up; not in a pushy way at all, in a gentle, positive way. This is an upscale tavern located in the heart of Manhattan Beach, about 2 block from the pier/ocean. I went here with some coworkers from out of town, who wanted to see the beach. They were quite excited to be in the area and had plenty of questions about the restaurant and its food but our server was not as welcoming as I had hope she would be. In fact, she came off more uppity than anything else. In any event, I ordered the California salad with chicken and Champagne vinaigrette which arrived beautifully arranged in the center of a large plate. I thought the serving size was small considering the salad costs close to $25. With that said, it was one of the best salads I've had in recent memory. It was light, fresh tasting, tangy and sweet at the same time. I will definitely return for a special occasion but it's a bit pricey for an everyday meal. read more

Amazing service, great food, good price, free parking! What else can you ask for ? We were celebrating one of our girlfriends birthday tonight, there are 7 of us, and the service was on point. there were at least 4 different waiters had been coming out to check on us in addition to taking order and bring the food out. We there are two birthday cakes for them to keep in the kitchen, and they unwrapped the cake and placed on a nice plate with a lit candle for us, and of course, they have all the plates and utensils for the cakes ready for us as well. If you think that that's not good enough, My girlfriend also received a BIRTHDAY CARD that was signed by all the staff that were on shift at that time (6-8 signature I think) signed in the BD card for my gf. She was touched and happy :) All our food are also very yummy w/ a good value of pricing too! We love our Seabass, sorry I forgot to take picture because it was too good and we were too hungry lol. But the Seabass was so juicy and crispy outside that I almost wanted to order another dish even if we didn't have room for it haha Seabass - amazing, 5 stars The kale salad add on salmon are also good - 5 stars Shrimp taquitos at bomb - 5 stars Jalapeño watermelon margarita, not bad a cocktail for a restaurant 4.5 star FREE PARKING in the structure across the street from it. But still, the most impressive part of this place is the service. I think that they have set the bar very high for their service! Wish I had come here sooner! Came here early for Sunday dinner. Started out with the Lilikoi mai tai and asparagus fries. I usually sip my drink slowly, but this mai tai was soo good it was gone before the entrees came. Asparagus fries also came out piping hot and were delicious. I ordered the bistro combo, and the portion was just right and my filet was cooked perfectly medium rare. Will definitely be back for more, especially the mai tai. Food is always great, unfortunately as I own a treatment center I came in a flannel with my wife (who happens to be Latina). Seems like they aren't big fans, we came in with a reservation at 7:30 on Tuesday the 21st, waited 17 minutes & in addition definitely should have worn more dressy attire because we were snubbed. The sad part is people love to treat you a certain way despite what you contribute to the community or financially. Unfortunately we won't be spending any more kids birthdays here or getting takeout on a school night. Very disheartening after years of service. read more

If these are service animals , they were not wearing badges to show they were. Also, even if they are service dogs, they should be seated in the patio outdoor space. Nick's Manhattan Beach is a solid restaurant. It was pretty much what I was looking for on a business trip. The ambiance was fairly typical of modern steakhouses and to be honest largely forgettable. That's not necessarily bad, but nothing popped. When I entered I stood around for five minutes or so before I was informed the bar was open seating. The bar is a good size with plenty of seats and it was easy to find a comfy spot. The bartenders were fabulous - they were warm, attentive, and made great conversation. I also enjoyed their cocktail creations quite a bit because they were smooth and well balanced! I ordered the bistro plate and loved it. Now, could totally see how people with larger appetites may be a bit discouraged but for me that little filet was a perfect size and it was perfectly cooked. It was delicious! Our server was Shannon and she is a true doll! I just went again yesterdday for Vaslentines Day and everything was exactly how we remembered. The best part of it all, Shannon was our server again adn we were ecstatic!!! I definetely recommend the Fried deviled eggs and the buttermilk fried chicken. This restaurant reminded us of Houstons or South Beverly Grill which I loved but we felt Houstons/South Beverly Grill overall was better. Service here was great. But, we really enjoyed the food. It's served with mashed potatoes and some vegetables and as always it was excellent. I also tried the French onion soup and unfortunately that was not very good. My entree was the BBQ Baby Back Ribs. A whole rack of ribs basted with mildly sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and cooked so tender that it literally fell off the bone. It was served with Nick's refreshing bistro salad; a perfect compliment to the tangy BBQ ribs. The chicken was tender and juicy with the perfect crispness on the outside - the breading was great since it was the perfect texture and not too "bready". I seem to recall it being just a little bit better last time I ordered it. It was good....wasn't great. Everyone seemed to be pleased with the food, though. First time, a solid 4.5 stars... Nice food, drink and service. I had the crispy chicken sandwich which I liked quite a bit. My wife had the house made veggie burger - it was EXCELLENT! Side salad instead of fries, super tasty (and I stole a few of my kids' fries - good too!) I noticed the rack of ribs at a nearby table - I'm having that next time! Honestly I wanted to go here because I've had a recent addiction to warm butter cake and I saw tons of reviews and pictures of the dessert and couldn't resist. Came here after a long flight from NYC and also wanted a nice meal before getting some rest at the hotel. I'm a seafood lover so I could not resist the Chilean sea bass as my main meal and the shrimp taquito as my appetizer. They were both so delicious and well prepared. The warm butter cake, with ice cream, and berries were the best ending to a great meal. While it was pretty crowded during dinner, we opted for the outdoor seating area which thankfully still had a lot of available seats/tables.
