My wife wanted to come here after walking about Manhattan Beach. I parked at the parking structure behind the restrauant that has a metered parking garage. The first 3 levels are maxed at 2 hours and the top level is maxed at 10 hours. We came around right when they open and they were already busy at their outdoor dining area. We first got seated inside next to the bar but my wife asked for a table outside and they were able to sit us there. I went their classic chessburger with fries and my wife got their salmon. She loved her salmon dish, she been here before but it was my first time. My burger was alright, it wasn't the best burger or the worst in my opinion. The service we received was great, our waiter was attentive to our table. My score: Food: 4.5 star, my wife loved her Salmon dish. I thought the burger was alright. Service: 5 star, the service we received was good. I have no complaints and had a good time eating our lunch there. Parking: 5 star, you basically pay for parking everywhere in Manhattan Beach so this garage behind the restrauant was convenient. It was easy to get in and also get out. Embarrasing experience. I sat at the bar and had dinner and a few drinks, I asked for the check and paid cash and left a decent tip "more than 20%". When I left and was walking out one of the waiters chased after me and yelled "excuse me sir, you forgot to pay your bill" in front of people sitting outside. It was embarrassing because I did pay my bill and the fact that he called me out in front of other customers was very embarrassing. read more

I've always liked Nick's. Just never been to the Manhattan Beach location. Until last week Parking. There's a structure across the street. I didn't even look for street parking. So, I didn't even check the signs either. I don't remember what I paid for parking but know that meter enforcement is not joke in Manhattan Beach. I think the meters must send signals out to the enforcement team when a meter is expired. Side note - didn't get a ticket that night Service was good. However, at one point, it looked like our server started serving the entire dining area. Not that we were neglected but there did come a moment when I decided to have another cocktail and she wasn't around. She was attentive and when someone is busy there will be no complaints from me. She was also friendly and nice. As for the food - See pics. Shrimp Taquitos were a little well done for my taste. Not to the point I wanted to send them back - probably would have enjoyed it more if it were cooked for about two minutes less. But then I don't know how the taco shells would have come out. The Duke was prepared as I requested. Rare to Medium Rare. The accompanying sauce was a tad sweet for my taste. Didn't stop me from devouring the whole steak. Not that I would have sent it back - I'd probably just ask for some kind of pepper sauce to compliment the sweetness. Not that the Bacon Deviled Eggs and Whiskey Cake were bad - my taste buds were probably just trying to figure out what I was doing to them that night. See pics and you'll see what I mean. Love Nick's restaurants. Pasadena is the first one I ever went to and loved everything about it. First time here at Manhattan Beach and won't be the last for sure. I enjoyed my dining experience here with my family earlier tonight The service was impeccable. From the moment we walked in til we left everyone was friendly and attentive. The cocktails were delicious so was the food. The asparagus fries were amazing and we devoured it. The Thai chicken salad was my absolute favorite and the bistro salad was amazing.y kids loved their meals and my mom was thrilled with her steak and baked potato dish. The cioppino was ok a bit too soupy for my husband, not like the ones he's used to. The flavors were good he said but not the consistency. The ambience here is great. Both indoor and outdoor seating is beautiful and pleasant. There is a parking lot right next to it so it's easy to park and walk to the restaurant. Checked out the reviews and decided to try it out for my son's birthday dinner. This place is nestled in a small center right by the beach. The service was a bit slow when we got seated but a waitress came by, that wasn't assigned to my table, and was able to change my review about the service. We tried the baby back ribs with shrimp taquitos (very delicious). The espresso martini and lemon drop was also very tasty. We decided to get the warm butter cake for dessert. Overall great experience, great service and nice ambiance. And what tops the cake is the staff giving my son a birthday card with staff signatures. I ordered the cioppino, the bistro plate and the tuna mango sushi roll. the sushi roll was great. the cioppino smelled and tasted spoiled, i had one bite and had to throw the rest away as i was worried of food poisonin. the steak in the bistro was ask for well done and was prepared medium. i called the restaurant but they said they could not do anything about it and am hopefully waiting to hear back from a manager. it was my first time there and disappointed in how much i paid for the quality of the food and the spoiled cioppino. Went back to Nicks again for the second time in less than a week. Everything was so great the first time we had to see if we would have the same experience again. We were with Carlos today and from the moment he introduced himself to us it was smooth sailing! He was friendly and easy going and his attention to detail was spot on! He highly recommended the ribs so we ordered those and had the smothered fried chicken for a second time because it truly was amazing the first time. We also ordered the sourdough garlic boule and butter. Carlos' recommendation of the ribs was so welcomed as they were outstanding!! They were served with a multi layered slaw and some of the best mashed potatoes we've ever had. The smothered fried chicken came with the same mash as well as a biscuit with ample gravy and corn on the cob. Truly amazing a second time and being with Carlos hit the ball right out of the park! He was extremely attentive and our glasses were never empty. We would happily be with him again. Well unfortunately the service really hurt our dining experience at Nick's. There was about 6 of us celebrating our friends birthday and it took about 30-45 minutes for each round of drinks we ordered, we could barely order two drinks because of this. And honestly it didn't really make sense when they had three bartenders working on a Tuesday night. It was full and we were seated outside but it doesn't take over 30 minutes to make martinis... Our service at our table was slightly better but felt like with how much our meal cost we were not checked on enough or asking if want more water, drinks, etc. The deviled eggs are a fan favorite for a reason. They are so delicious! As well as the Caesar salad I'm still drooling. But my steak was okay it wasn't worth the $38 dollars. The outside seating is also pretty nice you could somewhat see the lovely sunset. Overall Nick's may be a DoorDash place for me but honestly not worth the expensive bill for what we ordered and the service we had. read more

This is an upscale tavern located in the heart of Manhattan Beach, about 2 block from the pier/ocean. I went here with some coworkers from out of town, who wanted to see the beach. They were quite excited to be in the area and had plenty of questions about the restaurant and its food but our server was not as welcoming as I had hope she would be. In fact, she came off more uppity than anything else. In any event, I ordered the California salad with chicken and Champagne vinaigrette which arrived beautifully arranged in the center of a large plate. I thought the serving size was small considering the salad costs close to $25. With that said, it was one of the best salads I've had in recent memory. It was light, fresh tasting, tangy and sweet at the same time. I will definitely return for a special occasion but it's a bit pricey for an everyday meal. read more

Amazing service, great food, good price, free parking! What else can you ask for ? We were celebrating one of our girlfriends birthday tonight, there are 7 of us, and the service was on point. there were at least 4 different waiters had been coming out to check on us in addition to taking order and bring the food out. We there are two birthday cakes for them to keep in the kitchen, and they unwrapped the cake and placed on a nice plate with a lit candle for us, and of course, they have all the plates and utensils for the cakes ready for us as well. If you think that that's not good enough, My girlfriend also received a BIRTHDAY CARD that was signed by all the staff that were on shift at that time (6-8 signature I think) signed in the BD card for my gf. She was touched and happy :) All our food are also very yummy w/ a good value of pricing too! We love our Seabass, sorry I forgot to take picture because it was too good and we were too hungry lol. But the Seabass was so juicy and crispy outside that I almost wanted to order another dish even if we didn't have room for it haha Seabass - amazing, 5 stars The kale salad add on salmon are also good - 5 stars Shrimp taquitos at bomb - 5 stars Jalapeño watermelon margarita, not bad a cocktail for a restaurant 4.5 star FREE PARKING in the structure across the street from it. But still, the most impressive part of this place is the service. I think that they have set the bar very high for their service! Nick's Manhattan Beach is a solid restaurant. It was pretty much what I was looking for on a business trip. The ambiance was fairly typical of modern steakhouses and to be honest largely forgettable. That's not necessarily bad, but nothing popped. When I entered I stood around for five minutes or so before I was informed the bar was open seating. The bar is a good size with plenty of seats and it was easy to find a comfy spot. The bartenders were fabulous - they were warm, attentive, and made great conversation. I also enjoyed their cocktail creations quite a bit because they were smooth and well balanced! I ordered the bistro plate and loved it. Now, could totally see how people with larger appetites may be a bit discouraged but for me that little filet was a perfect size and it was perfectly cooked. It was delicious! After speaking to the hostess and a manager they refused to waive the $20 cancellation fee. I understand policy, but were we supposed to come in there and get people sick so we didn't get charged? We had the cioppino, a robust flavorful bowl of fresh seafood served with fisherman's sourdough loaf that was so good that you would want more if not for the portion served. My entree was the BBQ Baby Back Ribs. A whole rack of ribs basted with mildly sweet and tangy BBQ sauce and cooked so tender that it literally fell off the bone. It was served with Nick's refreshing bistro salad; a perfect compliment to the tangy BBQ ribs.
