C+ at best. Background We had take out for dinner for 4 on weekend before Memorial Day. Let's start with their online ordering, there are a number of menu items that you can't get using online ordering. Skip that and just call for your order I called up and ordered, that went very well and they took the order w/o issues. Very clear and friendly. It was about 30 minutes when the food would be ready which we found to be reasonable consider g the day and time. We arrived about 5 minutes early and the order was ready. Staff was friendly and efficient. So let's get In to the food. We did get for takeout and are about 5 minutes away, so we are not grading on temperature as that would not be fair. However, all the food was cooked throughly. No issues there. Here was our order -2 half racks of ribs. Sides were collard greens, applesauce, cole slaw and baked potato - crab soup - old bay wings - wedge salad - extra cole slaw - the fried onion appetizer We unpacked all the meals and the first thing we noticed was that we were missing some of order. We were shorted the applesauce, one cole slaw, and the dipping sauce for the fried onions. (Grade F) - Ribs - they were very good, well cooked and tasty (Grade A) - The sides - baked potato, no butter or sour cream given (grade C); collared greens, poor taste (grade D); coleslaw, the one we got (Grade A); applesauce, missing (grade F) - crab Soup - Tasty (Grade B) - wedge salad - good (grade B+) - Fried onion - more like fried smoosh, but this could be due to take out. Also, they forgot the dipping sauce (grade B-) - old bay wings - they were poorly coated with Old Bay. Some had thick covering while other had nearly none. Also the celery was rubbery and stale (Grade C-) Would I give them another chance. Most likely, but there are better places in OCMD to eat. read more

We did take out. The order was ready upon arrival. The staff double checked the order before leaving. Ribs were tender with not too much sauce. Wedge salad was perfect. Sauce for sweet potato was a great touch. Fries were not frozen from a bag. Only feedback would be to put all the cold stuff in a separate bag or use two containers (salad was slightly warm). When taking the family on vacation in Ocean City I was in the mood for some meat and this wasn't far from the hotel. I had ordered a soup as an appetizer. We had gotten our drinks , some bread and even some more bread. I had inquired where the soup was and was told "it's coming". When the main course came out I asked again about the soup and the waitress blatantly lied and stated we inquired about the main course not the soup. Then the manager came out , and he said "we made a mistake" but did offer to comp anything , but acted like he was doing us a favor by taking soup off the check that I never received. While I understand this place caters to tourists they should of had more a customer service attitude. My family and I have been eating at nicks for years. Last year we did take out . We were not impressed with the onion loaf. It was over cooked to the point you could not eat it. The portion sizes were also much smaller. This year we decided to give them an another chance. This time we ate there. There was no wait on a Friday evening around 6 pm. We sat at a table in the bar area so my husband could watch sports. The waiter was horrible. The table was sticky. The waiter came over took our drink order and disappeared for about 10 minutes. We asked another waitress to clean our table. When the drinks arrived we ordered the onion loaf and crab toast. He disappeared again for about 20 minutes. When he returned with the food he dropped the food off did not ask if we needed anything. My husband went to the manager and asked for plates , napkins and silverware. The waiter was to busy talking to the hostess. The onion loaf was over cooked. The crab toast was delicious. We waited for the waiter to come and check on us and he never did. My husband walked up to the bartender and order another beer. We decided to not eat dinner there. My husband placed a Togo order with the bartender. We ordered the seafood flat bread pizza and the brisket sandwich with French fries. The Flatbread was delicious. The sandwich was good, not impressed with French fries. The bartender was great. He even showed my husband the happy hour menu which the waiter never provided. Nick's is1 of the better restaurants that you can find in OC. 1 thing you guys should know is that the wait time could be anywhere from 40 mins - 1 hr during dinner, summer time. BBQ Baby Back Ribs & Crab Cake ($24.50) - 1/2 Rack of Ribs with a Crab Cake. The crab cake's pretty good. They put good amount of crab in there, so you can definiltely taste it. The Baby Back's decently good but it's def not "world famous," that's for sure lol... Queen Cut Prime Rib ($21) - 10 oz Prime Rib w/ Horseradish & 1 Side. The prime rib's just ok, nothing special for me. Overall - The place's pretty spacious even though it can be pretty packed. The service's good, they're really friendly. The portion's above average but it's not that cheap either. The food's decently good, I like their crab cakes. This is a must if you want a nicer place to eat down the ocean, you have a choice of the bar area or the dining room. Get their early if you go during the busy season! I am a major fan of the cheese crab toast! I absolutely can not eat there without getting it! Once you have it you're hooked. Their ribs are just yummy and a good price. Horrible costumer service. We waited over an hour for a table for 8 people. 2 families, 4 kids under 9 years old. When we were finally called we were told we can't sit together. We asked the owner , Scott Heise, why we weren't told this in the beginning he responded very nasty and rude and would not let us talk. He pointed at us and told us to get out or else. He refused to listen to our simple question. He said he doesn't want or need our business and he would call the cops if we did t leave immediately. He made 4 kids cry all for not reason. We use the carry out service all the time, cause we don't like to wait, and most of their dinners are large enough to be shared by two! Last night, full rack of ribs dinner with baked potato and coleslaw (and they remembered the extra sauce too!) What a great meal, shared by two of us for under $25! If you want ribs in OC, this is the place to be. Plenty of seats late night and they are ready to serve. There was also a bar but it seemed kind of empty. I like how it was conveniently open until 2am while my friends and I were starving and passing by. We had old-bay wings as an appetizer and they were scrumptious and savory. The ribs...the barbecue-y fall apart meaty goodness was worth the wait and the extra crispy potatoes wedges were fantastic. I've eaten here many times over the years, but this review will primarily be for my last visit. Didn't get a starter this time, but in the past I've had their Onion Loaf. I'm trying to lose some weight though, and that thing makes an Outback Bloolin Onion look like a salad, so I passed this time hehe I didn't feel like ribs, so I got the Chicken Cheseapeke. That thing was too damned small. It was like an underspiced crabcake with cheap chicken wrapped around it. The bearnaise sauce? On the side.....why the hell wouldn't you cook it in the sauce?! That dish infuriated me, as it could've been great but they half-assed it. In the past I've gotten steak which is ok (nothing special), but I do like their crab cakes. Fries were pretty good, and their applesauce didn't have much flavor. This place was a lot better when I first started coming to Ocean CIty, and it isn't friendly on the wallet either. its better than JR's, but that isn't saying a hell of a lot. I'll probably go again out of habit next time I'm in town, but I really hope this place isn't going downhill as I really used to like it. read more

The bar area is the best, Pat, Jay and Dusty will take care of you and make you feel welcome everytime you come in. The bar also has NTN Trivia which is a big plus for my family. Terrible place!!!! Many things went wrong. My wife ordered a Caesar salad, Sever brought entire lettuce not chopped with a bit of cheese. My 10 year old daughter could prepare it better! The three different plates we ordered were left overs , we could easily tell the meat and potatoes was not fresh. Lots of flies inside the restaurant, not surprised. Now, imagine yourself coming home to the most disappointing, mediocre meal that was somehow cold despite the long wait. My mom ordered a Pina Colado when they took our drink orders. She never got it. My son and I ordered side salads with our meals. They never came out. I just filed the first Better Business Bureau complaint with this restaurant. I ordered a $50 gift card for my mother, who recently relocated to OC MD on 11/6/21. Funny they took my money, but I still do not have the gift card. I gave them 3 weeks before contacting the restaurant and they THEN informed me they outsource their purchase of gift cards to another company even though it is listed on THEIR website. The manager on 12/3 to email the company myself and they could not help me. I did so, never heard one word over a week back from the company, so I contacted them on 12/9 to let them know that the company has not responded and Christmas is approaching and I am worried. They said that it was again up to me to contact this company, although that owner is sure enjoying my deposit into his bank account and I told them it was now THEIR job to fix this. I gave them well over a month. They hung up on me. I left a review on TripAdvisor and sent a message to the "owner" of the restaurant who instead of reaching out to help me, wrote a very nasty and untrue response on TripAdvisor. I looked into all the other reviews and saw wayyy to many other people who offer feedback and ask for assistance and the "owner" sends the nastiest messages to his "customers" who have lined his pockets I have ever seen. Being a teacher, I can not ever imagine treating a parent like this. So, for the first time in my life, I filed a complaint against him with the Better Business Bureau. Shouldn't have been surprised that they already have a C with BBB, but wished him Merry Christmas and that I would pray for the Scrooge that runs that toxic place and that he sees his blessings in life. We really enjoyed Nick's House of Ribs! We ordered apps and small plates so can't speak to the ribs. However, the cream of crab soup is one of the best I ever had! Plenty of crab, sherry, old bay... just delicious. I also can't rave enough about the onion loaf and shrimp scampi plate. The onion loaf had a light batter that was so good, I wanted to weep. I would give this 4stars mainly because of the price it's a little overpriced. Overall the food is good the ribs are slightly better than Bull on the beach. A good value is the flounder for $19.99. If I could put negative stars I would. The food was mediocre at best. My real problem came when I was charged six dollars for a kids strawberry daiquiri. It clearly states that it is 8 dollars for a kids meal. There is nowhere on the kids menu that says there is an up-charge of kids drinks. When I questioned the manager he stated "it says the price for the drinks on the bill." After some back and forth arguing he would not take anything off the price. We had the absolute worst service and food ever! So bad I felt the need to write this review. We submitted an online order for dinner and paid for the food on the website. We later called to ask for our baked potatoes to be loaded and were told it would be an upcharge. When my family member went to pick up the food, he was asked to pay. We assumed he was charged for food already paid for bc he was given two receipts. When I called to inquire for someone to check why we were double charged, I was told to go to the website to file a complaint. Excuse me? When I asked to speak to a manager, I was put on hold and then hung up on! What?! Repeated calls led to excessively RUDE behavior of putting me on hold, directing me to the website and hanging up! They obviously had caller ID bc then they would not answer the phone. This is NOT acceptable. Where is the customer service?! We are living in a pandemic and this is when customer service should be above and beyond! My husband later called and they did the same to him. He was on his way in to deal with the situation in person when he was threatened not to go there. While he was enroute, we realized my family member was only charged for the baked potato upcharge so we tried to call back to clear the air and they would not answer! I am LIVID. I have never been mistreated like that by a business in my life. Not to mention that the food was absolutely horrid - dry ribs, no extra sauce, limp chicken and baked potatoes that were definitely sitting around for a while (that we paid extra to load by the way!). Service is perfect. Bartenders very attentive. Food was delicious. A million tvs. We will be back! I ordered Mac and cheese with grilled chicken on top! It was delicious.
