I normally eat here for dinner. I really love this place because everything I've had is good. The pizzas are awesome. Specifically, I love the MVP pizza. I love the vongole. I tried the wings, which were special tonight, and I love the wine. You can't go wrong, really, at Nick's. Everything is good. I've recently started eating here for lunch, and I just saw that brunch is on offer, so that's my next thing. I have taken everyone here: clients, my mom, friends. They have a private room, which is great if you want to host a special lunch, birthday or baby shower. It looks like it could seat 30 to 50 people or something, so if I have a special occasion, this will be my go-to. The service is great, the food is awesome, and it's a really nice ambience. Went there to celebrate my Mother-in-Law's birthday with dear husband. She loves Italian food. Her and her extended family including my family have gone there for years. We were always satisfied with there delicious family size portions. They updated the place since than. The food is still as good as I remembered it. Some things have changed for the better. The layout is more open with a grand bar. We are always greated by a welcoming staff member, some new with some familiar faces. The owner, James, was extremely helpful in planning and coordinating the perfect night for our party of 35. They were flexible and thoughtful in their recommendations for food and drink. We ordered take out from Nick's during lunch and ordered the Chicken parm on ciabatta and the Nonna's fried eggplant also on a ciabatta. The take out was quick and our order was packed and ready to go when we arrived (earlier than the time that was estimated). When selecting either sandwich, I would definitely get the Chicken parm again. It had a good tomato sauce and melted cheese. However, the Nonna's fried eggplant really was not up to me expectations. While the eggplant was good, it was only two thin slices, with roasted peppers and cheese. The Mozzarella was not even melted. The eggplant slices was warm but the other toppings made the sandwich cold. Additionally, I had higher expectations for ciabatta bread. I thought it would be crispy and warm, however it was a very soft, hero like bread. And there was no sauce whatsoever, so it was also very dry. Overall, enjoyed the chicken parm but would definitely skip the Nonna's fried eggplant sandwich. Perhaps get the Nonna's fried eggplant with tomato sauce, which is a better taste. read more

Love the dough- typical thin slice brick oven. Haven't had anything other than the pizza. May be hit and miss at times. Have had a few times where it's just lacking sauce and the pie seems closer to dried out. Vodka and standard both do this place justice when they make it properly. read more

Will say this was the best pizza and salad combo I've had in a while. The crust was crispy but the pizza it self just captured all the best elements of a good Italian pizza; sauce cheese and bread. As usual, I asked them for Italian chili oil (a must have for any Italian pizza spot) and it wasn't too spicy but definitely had a kick. Caesar salad was creamy and the croutons were seasoned with a little bit of a kick to it. The entire restaurant took me to Italy with the woodfire ovens, lemon decor and cozy atmosphere and definitely the place I recommend if you're on the UES looking for a semi-casual bite. Made a reservation for a Monday night after I saw a pic on Instagram of their chicken franchese and wanted to try it. The redecoration along with the Christmas decorations were nice. There were about 3 other tables seated when we arrived at 7pm. The menu had a variety of pizza salads and classic Italian dishes. All of the portions were large. I liked that they had single and family style options. The chicken in every dish was so tender and thin; it was delicious. Most entrees were $20-$30. I didn't like how the way charged an additional $5 for pasta. For dessert, we had the brownie sundae with ice cream (which was extra)! Definitely skip this. The brownie was terrible, overcooked. Another table got the cannoli and the tiramisu which looked delicious but also pricey at $14 each. I would return and definitely split the family style. It would be a great deal between 2 people. I came here with a party of 4 on a Monday. It's wasn't very busy but we were seated immediately. I ordered the chicken francese. The chicken was very thin and tender. I ordered it with pasta. The dish overall was very good. Someone else got the bolognese which was very tasty but salty. We finished the meal with the brownie and ice cream (ice cream was $2/scoop extra). The brownie was warmed but overcooked and dry. Do not get the brownie dessert. The service was quick and allowed us to sit and talk which was nice. I came here with some coworkers after work for an early dinner. The interior had a classic old style to it with wood furnishings. We ordered a few dishes and shared them. We ended up getting the Fried Calamari, Pepperoni Pizza, Shrimp Asparagus Pasta, and Caesar Salad. I loved the Calamari, which was perfectly crispy and light, with tasty seasoning. The pizza was also quite yummy, with melty cheese, plenty of fresh, juicy pepperoni, as well as basil. Pasta was cooked al dente with a decent amount of tender shrimp, but I wasn't a huge fan of the asparagus and it was lacking flavorful sauce. Caesar salad had a ton of Parmesan shavings, croutons and powdered cheese, but I'm not really into this type of salad. Service was pretty good. I erroneously ordered a large pizza with toppings at this location when I meant to order from the same name establishment in Forest Hills. We started off with a round of drinks (the Second Avenue spritz was light and refreshing), followed by an unreal vodka pizza, harvest salad (light yet filling), local burrata with honey (delish), chicken Francese and then finished off the meal with some homemade tiramisu! We arrived a little before 6:00PM last night without a reservation. The guy came to us immediately & told us "Let me check it" with a big smile. Then he came back to us in a second & gave us a table. His warm attitude was good enough for us to feel comfortable, already. We ordered a Mediterranean salad, meatball spaghetti & seafood linguine. We especially loved their seafood linguine because its taste was perfect for us. They used a good amount of garlic & all the seafood in it was full of flavor.
